We’re Gaby and Will (30), an Australian couple currently travelling through Europe and looking for a Workaway opportunity where we can become part of the local community for around a month this August.

I have worked as a lawyer, while Will, also 30, spent the last ten years as an Operations Manager in the tech industry. Between us, we’ve developed a strong work ethic, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to communicate well, solve problems, and adapt quickly to new environments.

We’re both fit, strong and active, and love spending time outdoors. Back home in Sydney, you’ll usually find us out for a run on the weekends, and throughout our travels we’ve completed a number of challenging hikes. We’re more than happy to get stuck into physical work, whether that’s gardening, painting, lifting, general maintenance, cleaning, pet care or helping around the property. We enjoy working hard and take pride in doing a job properly.

We love meeting new people and getting to know our hosts over a meal or a chat, but we’re equally respectful of personal space and are perfectly happy doing our own thing when the time calls for it. We’re easy-going, adaptable, and quickly settle into the rhythm of whatever household we’re staying in.

We work well as a team, learn quickly, and are reliable, considerate and easy to have around. For us, Workaway isn’t just about accommodation—it’s about contributing meaningfully, experiencing a place through the people who live there, and leaving having made a positive impact.

We have a relatively high level of fitness- we enjoy hiking and running.

We are happy to get our hands dirty.
Gaby has built a veggie garden from scratch previously. Will has briefly worked for a landscaper in a labouring capacity.

While we both have more recently had desk jobs, we prefer to be out in nature. Fortunately, our desk jobs have given us other transferrable skills including determination, focus and persistence.

We both love to play board/card games. We currently have an ongoing monopoly deal score card!

We both love animals and have previously had dogs and cats of our own.

I was once a netball player and dancer, Will previously played basketball and rugby.

I love to read and Will has a keen interest in history.
