What motivates me is the possibility to be of service where there is need. I particularly enjoy holding space for feelings and emotions -these can make messes when they're allowed to play out unconsciously, or they can be doorways to healing.

I am a sculptor and spaceholder, and I have worked as a builder's hand.
I'm also good with children, having raised two of my own with my wife Tracy, and also having worked as a kindergarten teacher for seven years.
I ran an art gallery for three years, so I enjoy interacting with and educating people who are interested in art.

Nicholas and Tracy were a lovely couple. They are great Workawayers, too, getting along really well with all the other workawayers here. They were apprehensive about the heat but coped really well and worked hard and diligently at all the tasks, often singing as they worked, the memory of which will always remain with me! We are so pleased we braved the high temperatures to spend time with John and Asli on their wonderful property. The work was thoughtfully paced and varied. The accomodation was private and. very comfortable. The rest area, including the beautifully crafted natural pool, was a welcome oasis in the middle of the day.

We had a lovely time in Celákoviçe. Tereza and Roman are very caring and generous hosts, and despite being busy parents to two young children they made time to prepare traditional Czech food for us, and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We had a great time together and they told us so much about living and their lifes in New Zeland. We had our first ever workaway experience at Lana and Henrik’s place. They have set a high bar as we had a fantastic time. We helped in the garden and with retrofitting straw bale insulation to the house.
