Description
I love cultural exchange and have lived in, and travelled through many countries over the last 16 years. This way of life has opened my eyes to a bigger picture of this world, our potential together and as individuals, and has given me a clearer view from which to consciously chose who I want to be. I enjoy different work and volunteer exchanges, meeting a large variety of communities. We have so much to learn from, and give to each other, and there seems to be a continuous balance of giving and taking which unfolds naturally. The outdoors inspire me more than anything. I love hiking, bicycling, meditation under a tree, a dip into a cold river and foraging for food in forests, along seashores and across meadows. I love preparing food, sitting in front of a fire, camping - a minimalist, rustic, charming lifestyle that gives me a lot of freedom.

More details about your skills
I studied biology and worked as a marine biologist for some time (PhD), then explored & combined traditional Indian medicine (ayurveda), therapeutic yoga and energy healing in India & USA (health consultations, massages etc.), before taking up an interdisciplinary study program in Canada at the intersection of science, environmental politics and human societies (MPhil). I have worked as an art curator in Canada, baker & shop assistant in New Zealand, and for a home construction company in Canada, volunteered at an organic farm doing everything from seeding & planting to watering, harvesting, customer care and the preparation of soil and organic fertiliser. At an animal sanctuary in Greece I took care of old, stray and abused horses, donkeys, dogs, cats etc., feeding, walking and cleaning them and making sure they get the attention they need. In Ireland I volunteered with a remote hostel for many months, doing reception work, housekeeping, property maintenance and taking care of the animals which live on the hostel grounds. I have volunteered with a community that builds houses from cob (mix of clay, sand & straw), worked and lived on sailboats, write poetry, and am currently working on a website project which helps people navigate our current unstable times of transformation and shows the many new possibilities which are emerging and unfolding in the areas of business, health, education, community, fair & organic clothing & food, art, digital technology, traditional crafts, reviving & storing nature, environmental & human rights etc.

I got lucky that she could join me in one of the hardest times, with unexpected loads of snow, with puppies growing, with one of the dogs getting seriously sick, on top of many other things that were supposed to be done in spring - gardening, seeding, planting... and house chores.
She did it all. I think I would not… read more
