I need to be occupied both physically and mentally. 3 years ago I finished renovating my house in France and needed another project to keep me occupied. So I completed 2 weeks of Workaway work on a farm one hour north of Bordeaux in France. Since then I have undertaken numerous Workaway assignments in France, Poland, New Zealand and Australia. I am now back in France and have just completed another assignment near Tarbes. I return to Australia in September.

I have a large range of DIY skills having recently completed the renovation of my 400 year old house in the Languedoc region in southern France. I am an avid gardener and something of a jack of all trades. I am also a qualified English language teacher.

I have the Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults Certificate from Cambridge University and last year worked at an English school in Poland.
I am keen on maintaining a high level of physical fitness with cycling, stand up paddle boarding, bush walking, camping, sailing, ocean swimming and scuba diving among my pursuits.
I enjoy meeting and having decent conversations with people from different backgrounds and nationalities.

Paul stayed a few days at Nurrewin helping me prepare the property to be safer for the bushfire season. He is very fit and energetic and worked very efficiently cleaning and raking around the house. He also took the initiative to paint a new set of stairs and did a great job.

I had a lovely few days with Chantal prior to Christmas. Bushfires were in the local area so we prepared the house for fires if they headed her way. We also cleared a fire track in case RFS needed to use it and I did some house painting. Chantal is a gracious host and chef extraordinaire. I was lucky to find her.

I have just had a few days working at Yurpia’s. It was a lovely experience to stay with someone who is so attached to the natural world and to be in such a peaceful setting. A super useful Workawayer with lots of energy and ideas. Able to work without supervision, and with plenty of intitiative to see what needed to be done. Paul has a wealth of experience to draw on in maintenance and gardening, and is also interested in others and their activities. A very good Workawayer to host, and I would happily host again.

I loved my time with Marie. When there were tasks that i could not do alone, Marie was there to help. Otherwise Marie left me to get on with the job.
She is a wonderful conversationalist with a good sense of humour. And to top it off, Marie is a great cook and the servings were large. I am glad that I helped her with her project.
