Description
Hello there!
My name is Alex and I want to work Away:)
I'm on workaway to travel slowly and sustainably, to learn new things and to meet lovely people and get inspired by alternative ways of living.
A little bit about myself
So my name is Alex, I'm 40, I live and work in Arnhem, in the east of the Netherlands.
I live together with my two best friends in an old house from +-1900 which we are constantly renovating.
We don't have a garden, but we do have a nice big roof terrace which we are trying to make as green as we can with flowers and herbs.
I work in a local organic food shop and in my spare time like to take walks in nearby park or forest, hang out with my friends or just do nothing:)
Volunteering experience
Some things that i've done while volunteering are listed below.
Of course i am by no means a professional.
Some of those tasks i've done only once or twice, others i've done more often at my own home or garden. Don't hesitate to ask if you'd like more information.
What i'd like to learn while Workawaying:
I'd like to learn more about sustainable ways of living and see how other people live and work together.
..And in the process also get to know nice people:)
Special interest in gardening, herbs (aromatic or medicinal), permaculture, natural building
Allergies
And unfortunately indeed: I have food allergies
I am allergic to dairy, so no milk, no yoghurt, no butter, no cheese for me.
I am also allergic to nightshades, so no tomato, no potato, no bell pepper/paprika
I know that it sounds terrible!
But it's really not so bad.
Allergies aside i am pretty flexible with food, i like almost anything and i can help with cooking.
And it doesn't have to be anything "fancy".
If you're in doubt what to feed me, just give me rice and beans or bread and oil and i will be completely content:)Languages spoken
