My next destination:
Spain - from Apr 2025 until May 2025 View allDescription
My name is Ailish.
I'm 28 years old, I love learning, reading, sitting, sharing stories, wandering through markets and frolicking through forests.
Nature and exploring the natural environment brings me a great sense of joy. I love spending time outside and I care deeply for the natural world. I value community, connection and compassion and reject the idea that the more we have in our possession, the happier in life we will be.
Workaway's I've been a part of in the past have included organic farming, permaculture projects, sustainable building, household maintenance, aged care, hospitality, pet care and nannying
I would love to hear from you,

More details about your skills
In the beginning: I grew up in regional Victoria on a small property with four siblings. I am used to sharing a small space and being in close proximity to others. Our parents raised us to value meaningful-work, determination and contribution. I spent most of my childhood outside where I developed a passion for the animals and the environment. I have a deep love for animals and I have had a broad experience over the years caring for a wide range pets and farm animals.
2016 - 2019: I successfully completed my Bachelor of Education (P-12) specialising in disability studies. I've spent lots of time over the last three years in various disability settings working to engage students with a range of abilities.
2020: I travelled around Tasmania via Workaway and spent time supporting a range of projects and households.
2021: I moved to London to work at a teaching agency as a relief teacher. Every day was new, different and exciting.
2022: I spend time hitchhiking, Couchsurfing and workawaying through Europe meeting the most amazing people along the way (this could be you).
2023: I moved back to Australia to re establish a community, to re ground myself and gain more experience as a teacher.
2025: I have taken 12 months of leave without pay and am grateful for the chance to explore once again.
My have two brothers, one a cabinet maker and the other a floorer. Together they have endeavoured to teach me the basic skills of carpentry. I would like to emphasise basic. I love learning and I am always looking for new ways and opportunities to develop/improve my skills.Age
