  Our teahouse has been operating for five years in Bér village, located in the biologically diverse Cserhát region of Northern Hungary. This is a non-profit, community-based educational space 🌿, where we demonstrate the sustainability and diversity of rural life while co-creating the environment with visitors. Here, you can gain insight into Hungarian herbal culture not only theoretically but also practically.
  
  ⚠️ Important: This project is completely non-profit. Workawayers are not involved in any commercial or paid guest services, but take part in learning, building, gardening, and community-based activities.

  Who are we looking for?
  
  If you’re interested in the world of herbs, want to immerse yourself in knowledge, and actively participate in collecting them, this is the place for you! We are looking for volunteers who are happy to join us and assist with daily tasks.
  
  ⚠️ The program runs between April and September, with a maximum total capacity of 10 participants per season.

  What do we offer?
  
  For volunteers, we provide accommodation and full board for periods of 2–4 weeks. This year, you’ll stay in an independent guest house that is modestly furnished but located at the edge of the forest, offering a beautiful natural environment 🌲
  
  During the day, we work with plants and materials, and since rural development here takes place across several projects, it’s important that you come with an open and independent mindset.

  We are a small family of nature lovers: Lili, Dani and Klári (our 1-year-old daughter) 🌿
  
  Lili is a lover of medicinal plants, graduated as a medicinal plant technologist and works in close connection with nature. She collects plants and processes them using natural methods. Using the natural power of the sun in a drying loft, she dries the plants and creates preparations using different techniques.
  
  If you want to learn about the effects, application, collection and cultivation of herbs, you can join her in her daily work. You can expect colorful processes among fragrant flowers 🌸
  
  In addition to collection and processing, Lili also organizes workshops and retreats, which you can join by selecting and booking the appropriate time.
  
  Dani is a traditional adobe (cob) builder and is very happy to teach participants these techniques in practice 🧱🤖. He also works with woodworking, fermentation, gardening, and experimental robots.

  A teaház az észak-magyarországi Cserhát biológiailag sokszínű Bér falujában működik öt éve. Ez egy nonprofit, közösségi alapú edukációs tér 🌿, ahol a vidéki életforma fenntartható és sokszínű világát mutatjuk be, és alakítjuk az ide látogatókkal közösen. A teaházban a magyar gyógynövénykultúra elméleti és gyakorlati ismereteibe kapcsolódhatsz be.
  
  ⚠️ Fontos: A projekt teljes mértékben nonprofit. Az önkéntesek nem vesznek részt kereskedelmi vagy fizetős vendéglátási tevékenységben, hanem tanulási, építési, kertészeti és közösségi feladatokban segítenek.

  Az önkéntesek számára 2–4 hétre szállást és teljes ellátást biztosítunk. Idén egy különálló vendégházban lakhatsz, amely szerényen felszerelt, de az erdő szélén található 🌲
  
  Napközben növényekkel és anyagokkal dolgozunk, és mivel több projekt fut párhuzamosan, fontos a nyitottság és az önállóság.

  Egy természetközeli család vagyunk: Lili, Dani és Klári (1 éves kislányunk) 🌿
  
  Lili a gyógynövények szerelmese, gyógynövény-technológusként végzett, és a természethez szorosan kapcsolódva dolgozik. Gyűjti és természetes módon feldolgozza a növényeket, a nap erejét használva szárít, majd különböző készítményeket alkot.
  
  Ha szeretnél tanulni a gyógynövények hatásáról, alkalmazásáról és termesztéséről, csatlakozhatsz a mindennapi munkájához 🌸
  
  Dani tradicionális vályogépítő mester, és nagyon szívesen tanítja meg a résztvevőknek a vályogépítés gyakorlati folyamatait 🧱🤖. Emellett famunkával, fermentációval, kerttel és robotokkal foglalkozik.

  Usually we have two options:
  
  Poor but nice guesthouse, in the next street. (photo)
  Or the 5 star option of accommodation in a tent or hammock
  
  
  Food: If possible we just eat organic food, together at the table minimum x2 day.
  We have a kitchen in the house with a gas stove and electricity, limited 4G wifi possible in the area

  Let me know, before you arrive, sometimes I have shuttle option that leaves directly from Budapest (Hintalo) to Ber .
  
  There is also the option by coming by public transport to the main base, bus leaves 2 times a day.
