Vielen lieben Dank :))

Jakob stayed with us for 2 weeks early on in his post school vacation in New Zealand before returning to go to University later in the year. Jakob is a delightful young man and credit to his family. He is polite and committed with a lovely moral compass and determination to fit in and do well. He fitted in well with the family and worked hard -so much so we had to actively encourage him to take time off to explore the area! We were sad to see Jakob go and hope he has a brilliant rest of his trip.

I stayed with Bjarni and a group of other workawayers for a month and had an amazing experience! The work is simple and we did a lot of hiking and travelling after work. We saw the south part of the country and made some beautiful trips to the east and west as well! If we wanted to visit some places on our own we could borrow Bjarnis car. Bjarni made everyone feel at home and welcome from the verry beginning and I enjoyed every second of my stay!

I recommend this place so much! I had an amazing stay in this sharehouse in Kimino. Shorta and Yuho are the sweetest and made me feel so welcome! This sharehouse is something very special, and the most beautiful surroundings in the middle of the mountains. (Which also means you can’t get that far without a car, but there is a lovely onsen near!) That being said there is always loads of things happening in this house. I was so lucky to go hunting, having amazing dinners together, seeing fireflies, going to knitting event and even karaoke (a memorable day I will always remember!) or simply just playing catan in the house, spending time with Hasezawa and Pretti and the other volunteers (Emilie! And Jakub!) The work is super chill, and because I was there in the heat and rain they were super understanding and I could work whenever on the day I felt most comfortable. I did gardening, painted the benches outside and helped the neighbour with umeboshi. Shorta and Yuho thank you so much for giving me these life lasting memories! 🙏☺️🫶

Siri is a kind and generous host. She was eager to share the local culture, food, and nature. For 2-3 hours a day of work the accommodation and meals are very reasonable. The location is great if you like to recreate. The river is a 5 minute walk with a long running trail, there are soccer and basketball courts nearby, and the nearby park hosts a aerobic dance class every weekday. The people of this town are very kind and curious. I enjoyed communicating with them. The experience of teaching here was engaging and a learning opportunity, I am very grateful for my two weeks spent here. The only 2 downfalls are that the overall organization was lacking, and if you need a strong routine and clear organization and instructions I would not recommend this workaway. But, if you are able to let go of control, accept the situation as it is, then you will are likely to have a wonderful experience. Secondly the overall vibration was lacking peace, I could feel the stress of the host, and other roommate. This actually turned into a positive because it invited me to be more peaceful within myself and gave me the opportunity to share. In conclusion I am grateful for my stay, happy to be able to teach others, and hope that Siri has wonderful rest of her journey full of peace and love.

Hugo and Simon were excellent volunteers during their stay at our summer camp. They brought a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and positivity to the camp environment and quickly became popular among both the children and staff. Their experience working with young people was evident in the way they interacted with campers. They were responsible, friendly, and always willing to participate in activities. Their travel stories and international background added a unique cultural element that the children greatly enjoyed. Both Hugo and Simon adapted well to camp life, worked effectively as part of the team, and showed initiative whenever help was needed. They maintained a positive attitude throughout their stay and contributed to creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere. We are grateful for their support and would happily recommend them for future volunteering opportunities.

Laura stayed with us at the camp and was a wonderful volunteer. Her experience working with children was clearly visible from the very beginning. She was energetic, responsible, and built great relationships with the campers. Laura actively participated in activities, helped create a positive atmosphere, and was always willing to support both the children and the staff. Her background in coaching football was a valuable addition, and the children enjoyed spending time with her. She adapted well to camp life, worked effectively as part of the team, and showed a positive attitude throughout her stay. We are grateful for her contribution and would happily recommend her for future volunteering opportunities.

We had an amazing experience with Lena and all the staff of the elephant sanctuary. They are all so kind in general but especially for the elephants. We can't even put into words what we lived and what kind of feeling we had. This peaceful experience has so been authentic. Lena has a pure heart, she is 100% and we liked it. We are going to come back to see you for sure !

Sofia and Dan stayed with us for 12 days at our summer camp. They were friendly, responsible, and willing to help wherever needed. Both participated in camp activities, interacted positively with the children, and showed enthusiasm throughout their stay. Sofia brought creativity and positive energy to the camp, while Dan was always ready to assist and engage with campers. They worked well with the team, adapted to camp life, and contributed to creating a welcoming atmosphere for the children. We appreciate their help and wish them all the best in their future projects and travels.

Amanda & Nate are 2 most cheerful persons we had. They helped the community around our village, teaching English to the children with fun and memorable moment for the them, the children missed them a lot. Laughing and smile are the things they always have when Amanda and Nate teaching. English is important for the kids future because it Will help them to find a job and money. They also take care the nature by teaching the community about the importance of keeping the jungle, planting the tree a long side the river and the jungle to secure the nature stays forever to support the community. We also shared different perspective about community, nature and future for better life to the families around the jungle so it Will make the harmony between people and nature. I had a great time volunteering at the restaurant, mainly helping around with garden work and little jobs. Joe is flexible with working hours and the work is relaxed. Thanks again Joe for the opportunity and the delicious food!

It's not often that we are fortunate enough to have a guest that actually had their own farm, but John was a seasoned veteran of the dirt. With that came an understanding of how to really get things done on a large scale, while making the most efficient use of time and energy. And like-wise with projects with which he was less familiar, he was no-nonsense and jumped right in, taking the task by the horns. He contributes whole-heartedly, whether as part of a team or on his own. On top of that John is a great conversationalist in the field or at the dinner table, and he has a terrific sense of humor with an infectious laugh! If he crosses your path on his vagabond journey throughout the world, don't miss the pleasure and productivity of his company.

Leoni is a beautiful quiet young women. Leonie had no problems to fit in with us. She was a pleasure to have around, very efficient in house and garden with everything we asked her to do and all the things she did without being asked just because she noticed that they had to be done. Leoni did a lot in the 5 weeks with us and had at the same time a lot of fun with 2 other helpers staying with us. As it often happens here: The 3 young women staying with us became best friends and the house and garden was full of joy and laughter. We are missing Leoni. The 5 weeks she joined us where not enough to discover and develop the many hidden skills she has. Leoni is welcome back any time. We wish Leoni all the best for her future.

My stay with Steve and Nelly was fabulous. On the top of the list was their kindness and caring, our great conversations from philosophy to other experiences, and our laughs at the kitchen table. And then there was The Piano… the magnificent instrument in the salon. Since I play piano, I was able to enjoy this very fine addition. Steve and I share a common bond for Chopin and Rachmaninov and I truly enjoyed it all. The country side was very peaceful and I had many walks with the dog in the morning. I also helped with renovating the walls in the manoir, gardening and weeds, and light housekeeping for Nelly. We made cassis de coulis from the berries in the garden. Along the way I had a chance to explore Morlaix several times. I highly recommend this as a Workaway experience and I will definitely be back someday.

My two weeks with Lisa and Jeff were truly wonderful and unforgettable. They are incredibly kind and welcoming people who made me feel like part of the family from the moment I arrived. During my stay, I learned so much about sustainable living and our connection with nature. The hikes we shared together were some of my favorite memories. They were also very patient and supportive with my English, and I was even lucky enough to learn crochet. The beanie and hand warmers I made are treasures that I will always cherish. Thank you for the delicious meals, great conversations, and all the amazing experiences. I highly recommend staying with Lisa and Jeff to anyone considering a Workaway in Tasmania. Thank you again for everything. I hope to see you both again someday.

So Barnaby was my second workawayer of the 2026 season. He came for about two weeks and he took up where Cecile left off. He did ground preparations and lots of planting of seeds and seedlings , watering and he worked well on his own after I showed him what to do and why I was doing things the way I do. I was able to step back and let him do his thing every time I set him up with tasks, which allowed me to keep a few steps ahead with projects and tasks to get set up and ready for him to do in the future. He liked to work early in the mornings which is good for me and he was also very lucky in that the weather here was as good as it gets for this time of year. warm days cool nights and not too much rain. Anyway Barnaby worked out well and I was happy I decided to let him stay and assist me this year. I am sure he can fit into most roles fairly easily and he can continue to grow as he tries and learns new things.
