We are so so very late writing our feedback but Patricia and Tomas absolutely deserve one! Coming here as our last workaway was such a treat. The place is absolutely wonderful and truly feels like paradise. Patricia and Tomas are incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. At first, having to ask for food felt a little strange, but they were so generous and easygoing about it that it quickly became completely natural — and we were never hungry! The work was fun and never boring, and we really appreciated the opportunity to learn how to take care of so many different animals. It was such a special experience. Patricia and Tomas are kind and very patience and would explain all the tasks very meticulously and help around a lot. The food they cooked for us was always aboundant and simply delicious, and Patricia gave us a great bread recipe, too! Honestly, we think about this peaceful place every day and dream of coming back one day. Thank you, Patricia and Tomas — keep up your wonderful project!

This is a very special place. Although many would see it as a hostel by the end of the world, for certain it is a community project for all the people who want a second chance. I have stayed for more than 2 months and even now I have left, we continue talking about further projects and one day to come back - how to contribute to the local yagan community. - The accommodation and place is comfortable with amazing view. - The host Arturo and people (from Puerto Williams and guests) are warm. - Food is expensive in the island so it is super nice to have it mostly covered while staying. - Workload involves cleaning, booking management, repair and build, cooking but very chill and no pressure. Overally, great experience, and I recommend!

This was a great first introduction for us to Thailand! Felix and Jan made us feel very welcome and at home. They were very generous to us and we enjoyed spending our time chatting with them in the evenings. The place is beautiful and the spa facilities were absolutely amazing. The work was clear and fulfilling. Great stay all around!

My stay with Leah was truly wonderful. She is very friendly and accommodating. She also took me to her worship, which I enjoyed very much, as well as the evening when we watched a film that was being shot in the area. I always enjoyed our conversations, and she is happy to share her knowledge, especially about her travels and the area in general. The work was fair and not difficult. I worked with Medhi, who was there at the same time, in her beautiful garden and we had the afternoon free to explore the surrounding area. I highly recommend Leah.

We had a lovely first workaway experience at Nadege and Olivier's place. Everyday (except for weekends of course) we would get a different task, which made the job more entertaining and stimulating. Nadege and Olivier are welcoming and warm people, who listen to your needs and try to organise your schedule based on them. we absolutely recommend spending some days with them and with Mila! She is young but she's already a great french teacher. Thanks for having us and best wishes for the future, hopefully we'll meet again :)

I spent four months with Martha and Diarmuid, and it was a very positive experience. My role included a variety of tasks such as general house maintenance, lighting the fire, small outdoor jobs like cutting wood and helping in the vegetable garden, as well as looking after their son and spending time playing with him. They were very welcoming, kind and respectful, including with my dog, who was travelling with me, something I really appreciated. I felt comfortable from the very beginning and naturally integrated into their daily life. Spending time with their son was a real pleasure. Tadhg is very smiley and friendly, and it was easy to build a nice connection with him. I was also lucky enough to spend Christmas with them and their family, in a warm and friendly atmosphere, sharing meals and playing board games, a lovely memory. Martha and Diarmuid give a lot of independence, which allowed me to travel freely around Ireland in my campervan. I had around three days off per week to visit and explore the country. The house is located about a ten-minute walk from the centre of Cappamore and less than 30 minutes from Limerick in car. I have very fond memories of these four months and I sincerely recommend this family to other Workawayers. Thank you again for everything!

Hosting Anayatzin was an absolute pleasure. She stayed with us for a month as a Spanish tutor, and she truly became part of our family. She is a dedicated and passionate teacher who connected wonderfuly with our students. We especially appreciated her positive attitude and flexibility regarding the accommodation logistics (like the wifi situation). She was incredibly easygoing and focused on the experience. Her enthusiasm for learning about the local and Amazigh culture made the cultural exchange a two-way street; we learned just as much from her as she did from us! Thank you, Anayatzin, for your kindness and your contribution. You are always welcome back in Morocco. Highly recommended to any future host!

Chris and Ella are such awesome people and workaway friends! They were content to do their own thing and 100% trustworthy. In the time they stayed with us, they gave our holiday let a complete makeover with fresh paint and a general once-over. We enjoyed eating dinner together each night- and they brought the delicious beauty of English homemade dinners to our table too! We are thankful for this experience and so glad to become friends with Ella and Chris. They, and their pup Rhonda, are welcome here any time!

This was our first workaway experience and we really enjoyed it. The place is surrounded by beautiful forests full of mushrooms where we enjoyed taking walks. The tasks were not too demanding or repetitive. Everything we needed was provided by Nimea. We got to spend Christmas together which was a really nice cross-cultural experience. Thank you for having us and good luck with your project! 🍀❤️🌺💫

I spent 2 amazing weeks with Ewen and Lesley! It was incredible staying at the home they built and all the ways they make it sustainable. Being able to work on a 100 year old cottage was a rewarding and enriching experience! I mostly helped paint walls, added new stairs, installed an air conditioner, and odd projects that needed a hand. Being involved in something bigger than myself and seeing the progress we made in a short amount of time was fulfilling and inspiring! Sharing meals and hearing Ewen and Lesley's stories was so much fun! When I arrived there were 2 other WorkAwayers so meeting them and playing games together was a added bonus! Quarto is a game that was often played after dinner and boy does it use brain power but if you win against Ewen it's so satisfying!! 😂 Ewen is knowledgeable about so many different topics and his perspective allowed me to see new points of view. Lesley's kind and warm energy fills the house and her cooking especially the Honey Soy Chicken and Passionfruit Cordial was delicious. Some meals were shared with other family members so it truly felt like you were apart of a Aussie family. The view from the house of the surrounding area was the best way to start the day. Being on a property as diverse as theirs allowed me to have many new experiences. I loved picking mangoes from the trees and eating them for dessert on their own or by making Mango Sago which is a Filipino recipe that I shared which them if you want to make it! Eating so much fresh fruit daily was a luxury. Seeing a new part of the country and exploring areas like Byron Bay and Coochiemudlo Island on my off days were great. Ewen was gracious enough to drop me off many times which I really appreciate. I learned many life skills staying with Ewen and Lesley that I didn't even know I was missing. I wish them both all the best and hope that our paths will cross again in the future! Thanks for making my 2 weeks so memorable 😊

The place Gitan lives is extraordinary. we enjoyed the surroundings a lot. Gitan knows the area well and likes to tell more about it. The work Gitan offered was tough, we did a good job. The meals were basic, the paella Gitan made one day was very nice. The house is small, we stayed in our campervan. But in the evenings we enjoyed several times his cosy fire in his house. Gitan is an open and hospitable person. Thanks for receiving us.

Leha stayed with us to teach our 10-year-old daughter, Laly, and she quickly became much more than a teacher to her. Leha is a deeply caring, discreet, and dedicated person, and an outstanding educator. We will absolutely stay in touch, hoping that one day another opportunity may arise for her to return and continue teaching Laly. Thank you, Leha, for everything you gave — Laly talks about you often and misses you. With sincere friendship, and wishing you all the very best.

Marta was a great Workawayer and a very positive presence during her stay. She helped with many different tasks, both outdoors and inside the house: working in the fields, handling wood (and also chopping logs with a heavy axe) , planting, painting, cleaning and reorganizing a messy and dirty storage, and helping in the kitchen. She was always efficient, precise, and reliable, and she approached every task with care, responsibility, and a constant smile. Her stay coincided with a challenging period of winter weather, which made daily life and work more demanding for everyone. Despite this, Marta remained motivated, flexible, and fully involved, showing resilience, maturity, and a genuinely positive attitude. I was always surprised to see hero going for a run even under the rain She is respectful, well-organized, easy to live with, and contributes naturally to a calm and pleasant group atmosphere. I truly appreciated both her help and her presence. I recommend Marta to any host. Thank you again, Marta, and all the best for what comes next!

I had a very good time staying at Anita’s and Craig’s place over a couple of weeks. The whole family was really welcoming, generous and considerate. The property is beautifully situated in the beautiful nature of the Karangahake Gorge. Over the couple of weeks I did some tasks like weeding, cutting and chopping firewood, cleaning the paddock and bushes, painting (but just once), reorganizing the garage and drawers (my favourite job ☺️) and feeding the chickens and geese. On a rainy day I helped around the house with cleaning or vacuuming. The work was always manageable and there was usually someone working with me. Some of the work was unsupervised which I really liked as well. I spent dinnertime usually with Leon and Judith, Anita’s parents, and sometimes with Jeanette (her aunt) as well. The food was always really good and healthy with fruit and vegetables from their own garden whenever available. I really liked these communal meals and the great chats we had. Besides that there was always enough food in the pantry and usually some leftovers from Craig’s restaurant available to eat. I was lucky to enjoy a traditional Kiwi Christmas with heaps of presents, way too much good food from the BBQ, nice board games and, of course, a nice swim in the lake. There’s plenty more things I could write here but that would be too long. I’d keep these memories with me, from Ukulele sessions to birthday parties, and last but not least: Her lovely dog Piper and the cats, Gil and Daisy, were always around looking for a little affection. Such adorable pets. P.S. There is a mountain or e-bike available to use in your free time to explore the area. Thank you so much, all of you! Cheers Melvin

I HAD AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. THE PLACE IS SENSATIONAL. THE OWNERS ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE WITH WHOM IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. THEY COME TO MEET YOU TO SOLVE ANY PROBLEMS YOU MAY HAVE, AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS SUPER FAMILY-FRIENDLY. LEAVING WILL BE A PROBLEM BECAUSE YOU BECOME SO AFFECTED BY THEM. THEY ARE CREATING SOMETHING UNIQUE AND RARE. I'M TRULY HONORED TO BE ABLE TO SAY I WAS PART OF IT FOR A SHORT TIME. KEEP UP THE WORK, YUHO AND SHOTA!

It was my first Workaway experience! Despite my rather pirate-like approach, Giuseppe and Cornelia provided me with a wonderful opportunity to get in touch with this marvelous place and its very warm people. I was mostly interacting with Giuseppe, who provided detailed guidance on everything related to my activities. He has a very deep knowledge of the wine and olive oil industry, combined with a strong understanding of international affairs and geopolitics, which made our conversations especially interesting. I had limited time, but I truly enjoyed every moment I spent here and I’m grateful for the experience, the people, and the atmosphere of this place.
