Having Margot and her wonderful little kitty friend Fergus here was a wonderful time and gift. She is a professional photographer, and she captured amazing photos of the buffalo running in the snow when we went out into the herd on the snowmobiles. Even though it was cold and she was getting covered in snow, she was always a great sport! Margot is kind hearted, sensitive, very intelligent, hard working and very capable with all kinds of DIY tasks, like helping fix my broken locks and sticking doors, and all kinds of different winter household chores inside and outside. She pays attention to detail and is self motivated. Anyone that has her as a helper is blessed. She is always welcome here!

We hadn't had any workawayers staying in our home since our baby was born and were apprehensive about sharing the space again, but Mei was a fantastic houseguest. She's proactive, hardworking and brings positive energy wherever she goes. Our little boy only knew about 5 words before Mei arrived, but within hours he was beaming at her and proudly saying "Mei". She also happened to be present for his first proper steps and caught them on camera for us. So she will forever be in our family's memory. She got incredibly unlucky with the weather whilst she was here and we really hope she'll come back closer to the Summer so that she can finish off my recommended "To do list"! Mei did general organising and cleaning, cooked some fantastic meals and took over a video editing project. We're very grateful for everything she did and wish her all the best on her future adventures.

We really enjoyed our time with Chris. The house and garden were both beautiful, and the location in Tairua was perfect for day trips to other beaches in this area. Chris always had a recommendation for us! He's really kind and ready to help, even when we had problems selling our car, he figured out a solution for us. Thanks again, we don’t know what we would have done without you! We definitely recommend Chris as a host! 🤗

ENGLISH Louise and Romain stayed with us here for one month and it was a truly very positive experience. We recommend them with complete confidence to any host who values welcoming responsible, respectful people with great human quality. They speak French, English and Spanish, which made communication very easy both with us and with our guests. They are very kind and responsible people, something essential for living and working together in a place like ours. During their stay they showed great initiative and cared for the space with a lot of respect and attention. They helped with maintenance tasks, small repairs, and guest support. Their interaction with visitors was excellent: they managed to create genuine connections with several of our guests, something we deeply value since we aim for people to feel welcomed like at home. Louise and Romain are calm, reliable and solution-oriented people who always maintained a positive and collaborative attitude, and they also created an excellent relationship with us. It was a real pleasure to have them as part of our place. We truly appreciate all their dedication, the care they showed for the place, and the warmth they brought during their stay. We hope to cross paths again. They will always be welcome here. A big hug, Nata. Management. Gerente General.

What a lovely week I spent with this lovely family. One of the most welcoming places I've ever been to, Johanna and Even made me feel home right away, and their company and their kids' is really a pleasure. I really enjoyed when we played guitar and sang together. Indeed it was like visiting old friends. I helped them taking the kids to school (so Johanna could practice driving), tidying up the house and storing wood. The yurt is beautiful and comfortable. And there are trails in the forest where it's nice to go for a walk. I could even see a moose onde day. Thank you for receiving me and I hope we meet again someday so I can listen to Johanna's song this time :)

My stay with Nick and Pauline was a very enriching experience, and I am grateful for the time I spent with them. They welcomed me very warmly. On my first evening they prepared a wonderful dinner, which made me feel immediately at home. They had also put together a folder with all the relevant information for guests, and the guest room was carefully prepared with everything one might need. Their attention to detail as hosts was truly remarkable. Nick and Pauline run their home and projects in a very structured and thoughtful way. Pauline has a very clear and consistent approach to how things are organized and done, which gave the work a clear direction and made expectations easy to understand. Tasks were well explained and manageable, and the day had a pleasant rhythm that always included regular breaks. The breaks and shared meals were a highlight. We had many interesting conversations, and I enjoyed hearing about the wide range of experiences Nick and Pauline have gathered over the years. Nick often played classical music during the day, which gave the house a calm and distinctive atmosphere. On Sunday we went on an excursion together, which was a lovely change and added another memorable moment to my stay. The location of the house is beautiful. Almost every day I cycled through the lemon plantations to one of the nearby villages. These rides were a real pleasure and allowed me to experience the landscape in a very special way. All in all, it was a memorable stay in a beautiful place. Thank you, Nick and Pauline, for your generous hospitality and for opening your home to me.

I spent three months here but could easily have stayed longer. Eva and Adrian were really nice and welcoming, very interested in including the volunteers in the life of the house, and the short time we had together (because they were mostly away during the winter, at the time of my stay) was very nice. One of the things I like when working somewhere is seeing how people appreciate the work done, and here I really felt it. Ollie is great, thoughtful, and very interested in giving the volunteers a good time by, among other things, taking us on really nice tours. I had a good time working with him attending to the guests. Chichi and Boo are lovely, beautiful little dogs, which I miss cuddling. The place is beautiful! You can go hiking, cycling, or just for a walk around. It's not difficult to spot herds of deer. And you might get the chance to see the northern lights. The work can be very intense sometimes, but in my experience it paid off very well, not only financially but also with comfortable beds and delicious food. Once again, I thank you for hosting me (especially in the tricky moment when I was with the other host), and I hope to see you again someday!

I had a truly wonderful two weeks here. I would highly recommend it to everyone. The host had many different tasks such as gardening, sanding the boat, painting, and more, which made every day enjoyable. The people on the island are all kind, friendly, and lovely. If you choose this host, I’m sure you’ll have an amazing time with everyone there. I really don’t want to leave this place, but I believe we will meet again.

It was a pleasure to host Tina for the week that she was here. Always looking for ways to help, I very much appreciated her willingness to try her hand at a range of different things around the house and garden and her initiative. Tina was also good company and I enjoyed our evening meals and chats, especially about her amazing cycling adventures - she is an inspiration!

It was a great pleasure to host Rose - she brought enthusiasm, curiosity and good mood into even some of the least amusing tasks. A great organizer, an avid learner and a fun-loving member of our family-volunteer household, her eagerness to understand the world around her will be missed! Enjoy every step of your journey!

I was supposed to spent 10 days at their farm and I stayed almost 1 month. I think that says a lot about the project. Jodie, Andrew and Ella are wonderful people to be around and to spent time with. They provide all the food you need and can give you regular lifts into town. The work is how they describe on here and I even learned how to drive a tractor. I needed help to buy a car to travel Australia with. Andrew did far more than just help. He came with me to look at different cars and roof top tents, he picked them up with me, he mounted the tent and awning with me and so on. I am fully equipped now to explore Australia. I am extremely grateful! I've done around 20 Workaway projects at this point and this one definitely belongs to the top 5!

Christine was a very generous host. She took us to multiple day trips and we truly enjoyed attending her own concert (she’s a fabulous singer, more than she wants to believe!). The food was delicious and you can also borrow the bikes to discover around. We were also there for the carnival so this was great! Regarding the work, we took care of the garden, got rid of a lot of blackberries and other tasks when it was raining (reording some space, cleaning chicken place). If you don’t mind working outside, this is for you! You can borrow boots and gloves for working - that comes in very handful. You will daily greet the Icelandic horses, sheep and chicken. We also spent time with Christine, like discussing Curacao. This experience is great if you want more exposure to English, she’d be really happy with this, and to Dutch with lots of Dutch books and games.

Dear Kazuki, It was truly a great pleasure to host you in our family. The two weeks we spent together went by far too quickly! Your kindness and sweetness really touched us and will stay in our hearts. Thank you for sharing moments of your life with us, for the conversations, for teaching us a few Japanese words, and for letting us see a small but precious part of the world through your eyes. Your gratitude, curiosity, and the way you look at things taught us a lot and also inspired in us the desire to visit your country one day.❤️ We hope the rest of your journey has been wonderful and that this experience will remain a special memory for you, just as it is for us.❤️ We look forward to the day you return to Italy — it will be a great joy for us to host you again 😄. With great affection, we send you a big hug and, from the bottom of our hearts, our very best wishes for everything in your future 🤩❤️❤️

we stayed at Shon's and Miriams Place for a week and loved every second of it! the place is beautiful and Shon cares a lot about living with respect to nature. we took a lot of inspiration from that. it was such a pleasure to help with keeping the project running and to meet so many different people. from time to time some neighbours came around, sharing meals, time and resources. it was lovely and created a super communal vibe. thank you for the time and everything we have learned 🌞

Eric’s feedback touched us deeply. Given the difficult circumstances he described, we no longer felt it was a “normal” Workaway stay and assumed that leaving feedback would not be appropriate. Yes, it was a very challenging time, also for us personally. It was impressive and at the same time inspiring to see how Eric took full responsibility for his health in order to rebuild his body. Before he had to face these health challenges, he cooked reliably for all of us, cared fort he dogs lovingly and shared his knowledge of yoga with us. But even during his recovery, he brought more structure into our days and even corrected and narrated an audiobook. During the unexpectedly extended time we spent together, there were naturally some disagreements, but they also made us reflect on some of our own beliefs and assumptions. We are grateful for the time with “Tio Eric,” which showed us that life itself writes the most interesting stories. And above all, we are happy that he managed to recover and become healthy again so he can continue traveling.
