I had a really great time here! Tina and Paul took excellent care of me. I got to experience the local traditions of Japan (Kimono Festival, Miso Workshop, dining out, etc.) and also met wonderful locals in Ibaraki along with other volunteers! They also provide us volunteers with bikes. Wishing all the best for this project in the future! Thank you so much, Tina and Paul! I will definitely return in the future to see how the project progresses!

Marie and David very generously took me in for a last minute stay so that I could travel with my friend a bit longer before we parted ways. I am indebted to their hospitality. I helped with weeding/pruning, moving animals between paddocks with Marie, and log-splitting with Dave (possibly my favorite part! So much fun). Days were filled with stories about the area and their lives; while I could have done without the occasional racial/presumptive remarks in said stories, I am grateful to the many insights they offered us regarding places to visit in the Geraldine area and beyond. We walked up Hautekerekere/Little Mt Peel one of our mornings off, swam in the gorgeous river, and spent several days exploring Geraldine. I am now hooked on a having a regular morning tea (thanks Marie), and will miss her dinners. Overall, with generous hosts and people and much to explore in the area, would recommend! Thank you again!!

My 26-day journey (Feb 23 - Mar 20, 2026) has come to an end, and what a fascinating and emotionally fulfilling experience it has been! I stayed in a very peaceful area of Nonthaburi, far away from the noise and rush of Bangkok. I spent a lot of time walking around, admiring the simple rice fields that reminded me so much of my home in Vietnam. I even took a short 6km taxi ride to attend Sunday Mass at a local Catholic church three times during my stay. My daily tasks mostly took place in the afternoons, focusing on teaching English to my host, Napat. Napat is an incredibly kind, interesting, and hospitable guy. Honestly, he is extremely smart, and his actual academic qualifications are way beyond mine! He only has two main hurdles with his English. First, from primary school to university, he was taught to pronounce English using Thai transliteration. Even now, when he learns a new word, he still notes down the pronunciation in Thai script! Second, because he has such a highly logical mind, he tends to pause and process his thoughts deeply during real-time conversations, making it a bit difficult for him to reflect and convey his ideas instantly. I am writing this review with three main purposes: 1. To Napat and his brother: Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys took such great care of meโ€”from providing delicious meals to ensuring I had a wonderful and comfortable place to sleep. My stay was absolutely flawless and heartwarming. 2. A personal message to Napat: My friend, please keep practicing your English listening skills continuously. Remember to learn full sentences instead of isolated words. Keep practicing your pronunciation by reading out loud to Google Translate, and try to use Duolingo more often. I know you hate using your phone for studying, but the desktop/computer version is just as great! Keep it up! 3. To future Workawayers: First, please be patient with Napat. Give him the time he needs to process and express his thoughts in English. If you have ever learned a second language, you will understand this struggle. Second, if you have any good methods for teaching pronunciation (like using IPA, word emphasis, and intonation), please share them and guide him! Lastly, about the location: This is a premium "village-style" residential area. It is exceptionally peaceful and perfect for "introverts" or those who are "mature enough" to appreciate tranquility and explore local markets on their own. To get to central Bangkok, you will need to take a taxi or a taxi combined with the MRT. However, if you are a remote worker like me, this place is absolute heaven. Fun fact: I actually managed to finish writing my own book during my stay here!

Chloe was just fabulous with everything we put on her plate. She was amazing with clicking pictures of our rescue pets and creating content that gave visibility to our work. She was an excellent addition to our project and we wish her the best in her travels. Hope she can join us again in the future.

We are so glad we met Fleur.. and proud to be her last workaway in India.. we had a memorable week all together. She joined us when we were already hosting 4 other workawayers, but since the day she arrived (even though being tired), she adapted quickly and spread her energy in the farm. She was literally leading the pack in all the activities, like painting the gate, cleaning and painting the pool.. she made everything cool.. so determined and dedicated in the projects.. In some way she made our job easy. Fleur is a free, open minded, conscious and independent gorgeous woman. She has been all around the world, i remember her telling us it was her second world trip. And its amazing to see how much knowledge and pleasurable moments she has collected, we had unlimited conversation about women rights, freedom, cultural comparisons, AI, religion and the list goes on.. we benefitted mutually from the long talks. Fleur is a pleasant soul, always ready to vibe, anytime ready to share her time and space. We had busy working days, and easy cozy night celebrations. I have to mention that she is a party bomb, with her ithas already begun before you had the thought.. We loved it so much.. Letting her go was difficult, but we parted promising each other to meet very soon. Glad that I have a new friend from the Netherlands. Some people mark your journey with their strong presence, Fleur is one such person, we can't believe it was only a week, funny! Really feels like we have known her for a life time.. such a feeling! Wishing her good continuation, what we tell the good students.. and LOTS OF LOVE โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ Prayers from Reengaram family

The farm is incredibly beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Siddharta and Nirmal were very communicative, generous, and flexible and made me feel at home. Whilst I was there the work consisted of planting seeds and mulching, but they are very flexible in the ways you can help and which hours worked. The team I worked with were very friendly and made me feel welcome. The food is great and accommodation is lovely. If there was ever an issue Nirmal was very responsive and helpful. I really enjoyed relaxing in the cafe during my free time, its absolutely stunning, and using the gym! There has been so much love and thought put into the farm, it was a priviledge to spend time there. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful time and getting involved in organic farming!

Wow! What an experience! Looking for genuine warmth, hospitality, and simplicity? At Donetta and Yuri's, you'll find it all! I was wonderfully welcomed and made to feel part of their daily routine and family life. I learned so much from them about the realities of Black American history, and it was a truly enriching experience! They touched my heart. Thank you, Donetta, thank you, Yuri.

We feel very lucky that Roger and Brenda were our first Workaway hosts. From the very beginning they made us feel very welcome and part of the place. It was also great to stay there together with other travellers, which created a fun and international atmosphere. We often spent time together as a group, which made the experience even more special. One highlight was definitely the evening we all went to a pub quiz together, which was a lot of fun. The work in the orchard was varied and satisfying, and it was nice to see the results of what we had done at the end of the day. Roger was very relaxed about the work and made sure it was never too much, which we really appreciated. We also often spent our breaks at Manakau Market next door, which had really delicious food. Both Roger and Brenda are wonderful people and we really enjoyed the many good conversations with them. All in all it was a wonderful Workaway experience and weโ€™re very grateful for the time we spent there. Hopefully our paths will cross again somewhere in the world, maybe even one day in Hamburg!

ยกComรญ sรบper bien! I stayed with Cony and Michel for two weeks and it was truly the best time ever. The work we got to do was so interesting. Most of the days we helped Cony with building the walls for their new house. It was so great to see our progress in the end! But I also got to pick apples, make apple juice and compott, which I enjoyed aswell. The best thing about my stay was the food. Cony and Michel prepare excellent meals and it is so much fun to sit with them and talk. They are incredibly kind and so fun and open. With Michel our group of volunteers played a lot of games every evening. I also got to bake some cakes and spend a lot of time with their dogs. Their alpacas are also super cute :) I would love to come back in the future and wish I couldโ€™ve stayed a little longerโ€ฆ I can not thank you guys enough for the time I spent with you!

We loved staying with Lu. The communication was excellent, her home is beautiful, and we loved all the dogs. If you are not comfortable and confident around dogs, this is not the place for you! If you love dogs, enjoy a challenge, and like getting exercise, this exchange is just what you need!

Cโ€™รฉtait court, mais รงa mโ€™a marquรฉ.

Taisia and Chainโ€™s restaurant is a colourful jungle! Once youโ€™ve settled in, itโ€™s the most incredible place Iโ€™ve ever seen! There are plenty of wonderful activities to get stuck into: from building projects to gardening, from creating artistic masterpieces to culinary alchemy. The work at the restaurant is relaxed, but the atmosphere is sparkling, and the chef is the best! The beach is just a 5 min bike ride away! (I recommend hiring a motorbike to get around the island too) and there are tons of places to visit nearby and a thriving nightlife, you can be sure you wonโ€™t get bored here! A big hug and see you soon to the whole gang! (:

Where to begin.. Kelly is a very giving person, incredible welcoming, flexible, sharing and just a lovely and funny person. Her property is stunning, perfect view of the ocean, beautiful big garden and amazing yoga space. The cabin she let us stay in was too good to be true, pinching ourselves to see we're not dreaming. We did some chores, worked in the garden and emptied the ocean of rocks to make beautiful flowerbeds. She offered her space to let Sanne do some breathwork, which was amazing. Very thankful for our stay (and yoga lessons) with her (and miss the dogs and cat already!).

Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your experience Leoni Leoni is a person with a strong desire to travel and explore, and we appreciate that she chose our space for part of her journey. Unfortunately, this was an experience where both sides did not feel fully comfortable or aligned. Before confirming any Workaway stay, we always arrange a video call where we explain in detail the conditions of our space โ€” especially the cold weather, the remote location (we are about one hour from the nearest town), and the importance of planning food and snacks in advance due to limited access. We believe we were clear about what we provide and what we do not. From our side, we made the decision to not continue the volunteering experience with Leoni. We noticed a lack of initiative in some of the tasks requested, and it seemed that the expectations and understanding of the experience were different. For example, on one occasion we asked her to move some bed sheets, and instead of placing them properly, they were left on the floor in another area. These small details are important in a space like ours. At our project , we promote teamwork between staff and volunteers, which usually flows very well. We genuinely love welcoming people from different parts of the world, but this is always a mutual exchange that requires openness, responsibility, and communication from both sides. In this case, there was also a disconnect between Leoni and our chef, as each had a very different perspective on work and communication. We truly wish Leoni the best in her future travels and experiences, and we thank her again for the time shared. Warm regards, Jazz

Charles stayed with us for over a week and we were happy to extend his stay when his plans changed. His communication ahead of the workaway was very clear and he fulfilled all the tasks we had agreed upon. He is an honest and independent worker doing all sorts around the garden and property. Charles is funny! We enjoyed many laughs an he was friendly and playful with our young child.

My time with Armagard on her farm was a truly enriching experience. She is an excellent leader, a brilliant cook, decisive yet sensitive and friendly. The vast farm is vibrant and constantly changing throughout the year, and there is always something to do; the animals and the family are the true rulers of this land! The work on the farm is hard but satisfying and rewarding, and thereโ€™s plenty of free time to enjoy the beauty of the place and explore the wonderful surroundings! I really canโ€™t wait to go back and visit them soon! (:

Anita stayed with our family for about a week and was independent with her tasks. She cares about her work and did not call a task complete until she was happy with the result. She has so much travel experience to discuss and share! She was also easily adaptable when the accommodation arrangements changed due to unexpected family visitors. Thank you for this Anita, lovely to have you.
