Description
We are a cute, cozy, and chill family run hostel. Guests consider us unique because we actively operate and we are not party hostel; we are on the top rated hostel in the city
Probably you will meet our family and our cute dog Coco. Our extended family is formed by Geni, Ale our long-time collaborators and, as you the volunteers we are lucky to have as part of the staff.
The main tasks you’ll be performing are socializing with guests, check ins and check out procedures, helping to unload supplies, prepare food that will be served next morning as well as assisting on maintenance & cleaning and closing the hostel.
We request smiling volunteers willing to work 25 hours / per week. Volunteering hours will be from 1 pm to 6 pm and/or 6 pm to 11 pm with 2 days off.
We are designers by soul and education, we have a healing beautiful place and every day we do something to make it prettier. We are the closest hostel from the Mérida bus station and 10 minutes’ walk from our city downtown.
Come and join us; we love to sit and hear your story.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Merida is in the heart of the Mexican Mayan region, here are endless opportunities for cultural exchange with locals descendants of the mayan culture at beautiful towns with good and friendly people
You will have the opportunity to practice your Spanish or learn it if you are a beginner
Also in our hostel we receive people from all over the world, so multicultural exchange is a givenHelp
We will be happy to receive volunteers that are people oriented, have good character and smiles.
We mainly require guest attention help which is leading them to dorm/room and show their sleep place, walk them through the hostel, explain policies, schedules, and solve doubts. Stay alert for new arrivals and people requiring information. Call the family or perform the check in process and support to solve issues. Socialize with guests is very important.
On the operations support we need help on doing beds, receiving groceries and supplies from car and take them to kitchen/storage area. Also peel and cut fruit that will be served next morning. Cleaning happens during the day shift but in the afternoon from time-to-time check bathrooms are clean and with supplies.
At 23:00 Hrs. Close the hostel. turn of the music, close the kitchen, turn of lights and close entry door.
Two days off not during weekends.Languages
