Description
My name is Yan, I am married. I have two daughters. I am Cambodian. Currently I live in Ang village, Tapung commune, Thma Koul district, The village is 30 minutes away by car from Battambang . Buses and taxi are available. I hold a Bachelor's degree of Education in English and a Master's degree in Social Work. Since 2009, I have worked as an English teacher at a private institution. Besides working in education, I am also working with a nonprofit organization focused on social work and community development. Currently, I run a small English learning center to teach English to local children, youngsters, and adults who want to improve their English skills. My goal is to provide high quality of English education to the community people with low cost of payment. Now there are over 200 students. The team includes one school director, five full time teachers, three part time teachers and one assistance who works as a team to operate the school.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
1. Learn about local lifestyle
You can experience how people in our village/community live, work, and celebrate. Volunteers can join family meals, local markets, small community gatherings, and rice field visiting
2. Practice the local language
If you are interested, we can help you learn basic Khmer language, useful phrases, greetings, and everyday communication. besides that volunteers also have many chances to speak with local children and neighbors.
3. Join traditional festivals or events
Depending on the season, volunteers may join local ceremonies, festivals, or village activities. This is a great way to understand customs, traditions, and cultural values.
4. Share your culture with us
We love learning from volunteers! You can share your language, stories, food, games, and traditions. This helps our students and family understand more about the world.
5. Connect with the community
Because many neighbors are curious about foreign visitors, volunteers become part of the community quickly. You may be invited to visit local homes, join evening chats, or play with the children.
