Alice was a great Workawayer — quiet but intelligent, very open to learning new things, and an excellent team player. She adapted quickly, contributed thoughtfully, and brought a calm, positive presence to the land

We had an absolutely wonderful time hosting Marie during her two-week stay with us. From the very first day, it felt as though she had always been part of our family—she fit in so naturally and effortlessly. Marie brought such a positive and easygoing energy into our home. She was always helpful, proactive, and thoughtful, often anticipating what needed to be done and jumping in without hesitation. One of the highlights of her stay was definitely her cooking—the meals she prepared were incredibly delicious, and we’re still thinking about them! She also had a great sense of adventure and was always up for trying new things. Marie is kind, reliable, and a joy to have around. We feel very lucky to have met her and would welcome her back anytime without hesitation.

We had wonderful almost two weeks time staying at Fabienne and Olivier's place. We enjoyed their forest style of garden so much and the accommadation is so comfortable and self sufficient, we loved the independance and peace too. During our time, we have done all kinds of maintenance jobs, varies from cleaning the stains of marble surface, clearing weeds and tree roots, painting sanding the wall and wooden front door, cutting pallets wood, to relaying the uneven paviers, helping with palme tree treatment, cleaning windows and shower etc. It was great communication with them and we always get clear instructions on the tasks and we can also rotate between jobs which made it more flexible. We appreciated the food which has been provided and it was great experience chatting and practising some basic french every day with them. This is so fond memories and we are happy about the achievement here and there during our stay. All the best Fabienne and Olivier, merci beaucoup pour your hospitality.

I worked with Kuba - Ben's business partner mostly doing marketing/admin/personal assistant work. It afforded me the opportunity to get real experience in a field I'm passionate about and assist one of the most compassionate and lovely humans! I met Ben briefly and can attest to his love of nature, polite, kind and quiet ways. I initially thought I'd be doing more hard labor but was pleasantly surprised when I was offered the opportunity to help scout for other sites and do some marketing work. I was very well cared for - Kuba and Ben made a point to ensure I had everything I needed and I was treated SO well! I have been back in the U.S.A for a couple of weeks now and I'm still processing my travels. Should you go and help Ben & Kuba? YES - they are a wonderful team with big endeavors and bigger hearts. What an incredible time - I am so grateful to know them and have had the experiences I did. Sitting back at work at my desk job is so surreal now LOL I would recommend these hosts to all travelers looking to change their lives, it certainly changed mine. To Ben and Kuba - much love and gratitude to you both, thank you for everything, may health, wealth, and abundance in every flavor find us <3

I spend 6 beautiful weeks at this place. It was after the big storm and unfortunately the property has been affected too. So for a time there was no electricity at all but that was before I came to the Quinta. Nathan asked me beforehand if I still want to come since it was not sure when it will be back, the whole area there was affected and without electricity. I didn't think about it long and still went to it. I very much appreciated the transparency and communication with Nathan for all my stay there. He was always clear with the tasks and the instructions and most of the time there were enough tasks you could choose from depending on what you would like to do or your skills. The days off were flexible and you would always discuss in the morning or on the "monday meeting" (not always on a monday :D) what's the agenda and priority, who wants to do what, when you want to take days or time off, who cooks when, feedback, questions, concerns. We always did the cooking in turns and I liked that we always had dinner (and mostly all meals) all together. The tasks were various; feeding the pets, smaller or bigger building projects, gardening, organizing/cleaning, sewing. Nathan put a lot of trust in you and you could manage your work hours independently but made sure that he is available for questions or you would work together. He always cared about your wellbeing, made sure you feel comfortable and have fun. The Quinta is such a unique place and the whole property and garden has a beautiful ambience. We had some sauna sessions and the pool is getting ready for the season too. Sometimes we went to Pachamama; a cute vegetarian restaurant/bar where they have small concerts or open mics. We had some movie nights with popcorn or playing Settlers of Catan, a few jam sessions. We cooked nice food, baked cakes, went hiking. And the work never felt like work work, even though on a few days it was very physical but I always woke up motivated and excited for the day and the work because I really became part of the project and the vision, so I would say I put my heart into it and loved to see things evolving to make this place even better. I am missing Minnie and Max and the sheep :(. So be prepared for lots of cuddles! Life is good at the Quinta, you lack nothing. I loved the vibe and my whole time there. I didn't even want to leave. Nathan is a kind and humorous person and a great host. I will definitely come back to visit or for volunteering. I can genuinely highly recommend this workaway! Everyybody huuurts ;) Sending lots of love!

Gina was a fantastic Workawayer — smart, independent, calm, and very easy to work with. She adapted quickly, took initiative, and brought a peaceful, positive vibe to the house. Highly recommended! Would host again without hesitation.

Luca was a dream workawayer - kind, polite, hard-working, fun to hang out with, capable, bright and curious person. His creative gardening skills were top notch. He got along with all the animals like he was one of the pack. And he went along with dancing, hiking and socializing propositions with equal consideration and easy-going generosity of spirit. I highly recommend him as a trustworthy and steady human. Thank you Luca for taking such good care of all of us!

Saskia was such a sweet and kind person! She has a very warm energy, is easy to be around, and quickly became part of our routine. She also introduced us to a great coffee, and of course, she completely fell in love with passion fruit Snickers hehe. We’re really grateful for the time we shared and would happily host her again. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend Evan as a Workawayer. From the very first moment, he surprised me: he arrived riding a small BMX bike fully loaded with all his backpack and gear, determined to cycle around Europe on it. Absolutely amazing! He was always eager to help with anything that needed doing. He was proactive, curious to learn, and happy to chat while working in the kitchen. Even in winter, he decided and he was also very happy living in the tipi with a fire on the ground, he told me that he loves the fresh air in the mountains and the nature. On top of that, Evan is a strong and capable guy with solid knowledge of construction. He was a great help in the forest, building new paths and cutting trees , and he also assisted me with fixing the car and the tractor, offering useful advice based on his own experience. Evan, thank you so much for your time and all the hard work you put in. It was a real pleasure having you here. I wish you an incredible journey across Europe and hope our paths cross again someday!

Nicola is very welcoming and friendly! My roommate and I spent the week with him and had a great experience. The work was relatively easy with the exception of taking time. When he was free, Nicola took us around the towns and to sight see all the beautiful places; even taking us out to a few restaurants! The scenery around the farm is beautiful and we never got bored.

Where do I even start.... I reached out to Blai out of the blue this winter. He was happy to accept me for as long as I needed & flexible with my arrival. From the first day, I felt I had met back with an old friend. Blai made me feel welcome, giving me many options for my comfort. Though it was a cold time of year- everything worked out beautifully All of the animals within the property seem to live in a harmonious way. They are so full of love even to a stranger like myself. It was a pleasure to become apart of this family for a short time. The work we did together was very fair. Blai is attentive and has an eye for detail which I respect. I helped clear some jungle for future roadways, sowing this years seeds to insure a thriving garden & helped create new a project to ensure security of the property. Blai was very open to share& listen to ideas in order to come up with the best possible solution. We ate foods sourced locally or from Blai's personal garden. A true experience. To me, a luxury. The definition of life. Blai, I could write on and on but I mostly would like to thank you for accepting me. Thank your for all of our talks & Ideas we created as a team for us to implement into our lives. For anyone looking to truly learn about living a life away from everyday society. I recommend you pay a visit to Blai at the refugee. There are lots of projects on the go which could always use extra hands. Until next time my friend

We were delighted to welcome this husband‑and‑wife team. They were hardworking, very responsible, and consistently reliable throughout their stay. They communicated with great respect and sincerity at all times, which made living and working together very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the lunch and tea‑time conversations — the sharing of their life experiences, their openness, and their genuine interest in learning meditation and mindful living made those moments meaningful and enriching. Their easy‑going nature and wholehearted support for both the household and our furkids were offered with care and sincerity. The thoughtful gesture of installing the garden hose was particularly appreciated and reflected their initiative and kindness. We are deeply grateful for their contribution and for the warmth they brought into our home. May the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas bless and protect them always, and may their journey ahead be filled with health, wisdom, and joy. With gratitude from Dr. Karma, Aunty Raj and our beloved Furkids 🙏

Verena is a hardworking, organised, and responsible Workawayer with a calm and gentle presence. Though she has a quiet personality, she is highly observant, cooperative, and attentive to detail. Erika is an amazing young lady. We have never seen such a hardworking, thoughtful and understanding volunteer. She truly tops the list of all our Workawayers. She stayed with us for a total of 17 days. We just kept on extending her stay as she became part of our family. She is so selfless and never sits idle for even a minute. We recall her selfless service. Waking up early by 6am and then coming downstairs to bring our dear Sukhi (now deceased cat) out of the tent into our garden for the day. Once, Sukhi had such bad diarrhoea and without hesitation and taking charge of the situation without needing to be told, Erika sprang into action and cleaned up her tent and ensured that Sukhi and the house was clean. She never missed a single day of meditation. Sometimes, when we were too tired to teach the morning sessions due to the caregiving duties of another cat of ours, Rinzin (Baba), also deceased now, Erika would still come down without fail and practiced meditation on her own. She never complained about anything and never gave us a reason to complain. She was always willing to help in any way...anytime...so active and so joyfully doing service for the sanctuary. We could tell that she loves our animals, and when they passed, she continued to provide support from afar, although her Workawayer tenure ended. Erika has a very kind heart and truly understands others. We felt so comfortable with her and didn't realise how fast 17 days passed by. We dreaded the day when she would have had to leave. We continue to keep in touch because we have created a lifelong bond which cannot be explained. The connection we made from this Workawayer experience is something we cannot fully describe. Erika is one of the most grateful and humble people we have ever known. She always maintains her composure and her speech is always pleasant and respectful. Even after leaving, Erika never forgot about us. She made a beautiful collage of our seven furkids for us to remember them by. It brought tears to our eyes. One very important incident which we will never forget is the day our dog Mittu ran away from home with Jackie, our other dog. She and another Workawayer ran after them. She found Jackie and managed to bring him back home safely but because of the firecrackers, Mittu ran into the jungle. The other Workawayer left us in a lurch when we needed her most. But not Erika. She stayed back and helped us successfully find Mittu. Today, Mittu is with us and her best friend Jackie because of Erika. Everyone in the family loves Erika, my parents and siblings included, not to mention our Furkids. We will not hesitate to have Erika back at our sanctuary again. May the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas bless and protect Erika and famlily, always.
