We had the pleasure of hosting two Irish guys during their gap year, and we highly recommend them. They are young, but very mature and serious in their work. They were always willing to help, never afraid to get their hands dirty, and approached every task with a smile and a positive attitude, which made the work much more enjoyable. When we had to adjust our plan for removing weeds from the cobbled road, they were flexible and adapted quickly. They worked manually, burning off the weeds, using a pressure washer, and filling the gaps with sand and salt. They even lifted some cobblestones to better remove the roots of the invasive grass, always with great precision and attention to detail. They are very independent, well-organized, and able to manage tasks on their own. We trusted them completely, and they proved to be reliable and responsible every step of the way. We recommend them without hesitation as Workawayers! If they have the opportunity to visit anyone else, we are sure they will be just as valuable and the future hosts will be very lucky. We are grateful for the time we spent together and hope to welcome them back in the future :-)

Magdalena stayed with us for three months, originally planning to stay for two. Due to the wonderful experience on both sides, she decided to extend her stay—and we are incredibly grateful she did. During her time here, Magdalena showed what an exceptional person she is, both in her work and personally. She is a very hard worker who consistently went above and beyond what was asked of her. She approached every task with dedication and responsibility, and her positive attitude made a real difference in our daily routine. Magdalena is also a joy to have around. She is kind, trustworthy, and has a natural compassion for animals. Her presence brought a lot of warmth and laughter to the team. She has a great eye for detail, often noticing things others might miss, and she came up with thoughtful and practical solutions. We truly appreciated having her with us, and she will be deeply missed.

I stayed for 6 days and had a really great experience! The area is beautiful and James is kind and respectful. We went hiking together, and I truly enjoyed the trails he showed me — they were places I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. His food was also delicious, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The work itself was very easy and relaxed. I helped remove weeds from a few garden beds and also expanded the huerto a bit. And I did some cleaning in the house. It was very manageable, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. I especially appreciated the balance between spending time together and having space to do my own thing. Since I work online a few hours each day, it was perfect that I could manage my schedule, explore nearby places based on his recommendations, and still share friendly conversations and activities together. It was exactly what I was looking for — relaxed, flexible, and welcoming. He was also wonderful with my dog Nala, which meant a lot to me and made the whole experience even better. I would definitely recommend staying here and would happily come back.

Chantelle stayed with us from August 17 to September 8, 2025, and she was truly one of the brightest and most positive Workawayers we have ever hosted. She always had a big smile on her face and brought an amazing energy to the house every single day. Her positive attitude naturally connected people, and she built great relationships with other Workawayers very quickly. Chantelle is also highly experienced in cleaning and organizing. She worked very efficiently and kept everything in excellent condition without needing much instruction. Her sense of responsibility and attention to detail were outstanding. On top of that, she actively participated in our DIY renovation projects. I especially remember how much she enjoyed applying plaster to the walls of a traditional Japanese tatami room. She approached the work with enthusiasm and care, and the results were fantastic. She is proactive, reliable, and a pleasure to have around. Her combination of strong work ethic and positive personality made a big difference to our environment. Thank you, Chantelle, for your wonderful contribution. You are always welcome back anytime!

As I was busy renovating a new project and Giordano and Maria was helping us out at campsite. I still go to campsite everyday as new project is just walking distance. All our campsite operators reviewed them as good mind and good soul. Hardworking and independent and fun to hangout with. I can’t thank them enough.

Noah stayed with us for about 10 days here in Tenkasi and we had a really great time hosting him. He is very open-minded, easygoing, and always willing to help with whatever is needed. Even though we didn’t have a huge amount of work at this stage of the project, he supported us with taking care of the fruit trees : watering, digging flood rings around them, and some general land care. Beyond the work, he was fully present in everything we shared. We took him around to explore the area, and he was genuinely interested and engaged in each experience, which made it really enjoyable to host him. He also connected very naturally with everyone around — always smiling, easy to talk to, and just very pleasant to be around. It created a really nice atmosphere during his stay. He comes across as an experienced Workawayer. Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable in different environments. I can easily see him fitting into many kinds of projects while still staying true to himself. I also appreciated how well balanced he is. Able to be fun and a bit wild in the right moments, but also calm, grounded, and present when the situation calls for it. We’d be happy to host him again later on, or even visit him one day in his own project in the UK.

I spent three weeks at Eoghan's place and it was the sanctuary I needed so much. Eoghan and all of his friends and neighbors welcomed me with open arms, open mind and open heart. I couldn't have picked a better place to rest and detox than Glenmore. I loved the atmosphere, the dogs were amazing, I fell in love with both of them and I really enjoyed the routine of taking care of them - breakfast, walk, cuddles, walk, dinner, toothbrush snack, bedtime. Eoghan took me around to Enniscorthy, Kilkenny and Waterford city, we met his friends, checked out the charity shops, cleaned up the garden and the firewood and I tried to help out wherever I could. I'm freekin grateful to have found this place and the opportunity to spend time with Eoghan, the doggos, the cats, his roomies and his friends. Thank you for your generosity, your kindness and offering your space!

I spent a bit over a week at Lorraine and Serafin’s place in Bedmar and had a really great time! From the first moment I felt very welcome — we shared a meal together and Lorraine explained everything in her super cheerful way. Cleo the cat is an absolute sweetheart and quickly became my friend (especially once food was involved 😄). The three chickens definitely kept me on my toes — fast, hungry, and always ready to attack anything green! Bedmar is a small and quiet village, perfect if you enjoy a peaceful and authentic place. All in all, a really nice and enriching experience — I’d happily come back anytime. Thanks a lot Lorraine, Serafin and Tariana for the lovely time!

I stayed with Marie and Christophe for a bit more than two months while studying at the uni in Dijon. What an incredible experience, and one I’m very grateful to have had. The tuilerie is full of charm and character, nestled among beautiful fields and a forest, watched over by a cat with at least as much charm and character, as well as some lovely sheep and chickens. I first stayed in a little wooden cabin. Inspired by a fellow Workawayer and previous reviewer, I read The Hobbit in my cosy shelter – fully recommend –, with the occasional little animal rustling nearby. October being October and there being no heating, I was glad to have brought my fleece and beanie, so it was more than alright. As winter approached, I was warmly welcomed into the main house. I really enjoyed the work, which was a nice mix of working in the fields with vegetables and flowers, helping in the house, some digging, wood chipping and painting doors and windows. Having done Workaway before, it struck me as being on the more physically demanding side, which was actually very nice alongside the more sedentary uni life and meant I slept very well. Marie and Christophe were kind, patient and helpful in explaining all tasks. As hard workers, they were also always knee-deep involved in some heavy lifting themselves. The schedule could change a bit from time to time, which suited me well, especially as I was given a great deal of flexibility and trust in return. Food ranged from simple meals to joyous family feasts at the weekend. I thoroughly appreciated every meal and the occasional aperitif by the fireplace, yet it might not be the place if you have ultra specific food requirements. The atmosphere was very respectful, welcoming and positive, often with friends and family around. Marie and Christophe are open, kind souls who helped me more than I can express. They included me in their family life, patiently and kindly explained French idioms to me whenever my eyes glazed over and played a huge, if not the biggest, part in improving my French. They are simply lovely people with a strong sense of integrity, community and work ethic. Thanks so much for sharing your life with me and for your generosity. I learnt a lot and would be very happy to welcome you to Tassie one day!

Thank you Beatrice for this winter! I really felt relieved to have Mattia and Beatrice here for 3 months. They took good care of the house and helped with welcoming other guests. I really appreciate them always asking if something was unclear, so we could figure out the correct solution for everything. They are both happy to help with anything, and very flexible. Beatrice helped with many things here and there. I was especially happy that she had experience with dogs, which made me comfortable leaving Ilona's walks on her responsibility if we were not home. Beatrice is very friendly, helpful, calm and organised, a good fit to stay here in the middle of nowhere. I think she was mainly responsible for a nice and clean house, even if I assume everyone took part in getting everything done, as there were many guests coming and going this winter. I recommend choosing Beatrice for both individual and team work. I'm sure she can do anything you ask with a friendly smile.
