Sara is quiet, yet she possesses a healing smile—a truly sunny one. Being around her feels comfortable and peaceful. She is wise because when she recognizes something that benefits both herself and others, she persists in doing it. She puts her heart into everything she does, and watching her is deeply encouraging. We are so grateful that she inspires us to stay committed to actions that bring good to others and to ourselves. What we learn by her side is precisely this: true perseverance begins in a caml mind and is realized through the actions of each passing day. Thank You , Sara.

Visiting Ankara with Firat as my host was the best way to start the year. I spent three weeks there and truly feel lucky to have had this experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. Firat is a kind, attentive, and generous host with excellent communication. From the very beginning, he feels more like a friend than a host—easygoing and genuinely friendly. I felt at home the entire time, and both he and his kids are truly lovely. I was also lucky enough to meet his father, whom I hold very dear and from whom I learned so much. Günes and Deniz are two incredible kids, generous and pure-hearted. And last but not least: Lily. Lily is a very special cat who needs some time to warm up to you, but once he does, you feel truly lucky. I will miss all of you so much and hope to come back very soon to this amazing country. Sending you the biggest hug

What a wonderful experience! I spent January on Julie and Glynn's farm, planting over fifty fruit trees, cleaning drainage ditches, removing dead grass and uprooting dead trees to prevent fires in the area, building numerous concrete foundations, and undertaking many other tasks, most of which involved working with their animals. Working with Glynn and Julie will allow you to access their immense knowledge of agriculture, gardening, construction, animal care, and more. They are truly experienced in so many fields, so there's so much to learn. They truly love country life and animals. The food provided was always delicious and plentiful, often coming directly from their own garden. During my stay, I was always treated with great respect and kindness. They will be the perfect hosts for you if you too are common-sense and trustworthy people. I highly recommend staying on their farm!

We’ve truly loved sharing our time and home with Fiona. She arrived quietly early in 2026 and immediately set about learning our routines and looking for ways to help. With calm initiative, she cleaned, tidied, and thoughtfully organised several long-standing problem areas, including our garage, chicken food prep bench, bedroom wardrobes, and my sewing studio. Fiona embraced eating straight from the garden, and I’ll always have fond memories of her climbing our plum tree to harvest the fruit. With her clear understanding of what it takes to run a home well, she quickly became part of the family — helping to keep the kitchen clean and tidy, happily eating leftovers, and even entertaining our young cat. Throughout her stay, Fiona consistently felt one step ahead of us, always anticipating needs and finding ways to make our days easier. She never dropped the ball. Even now, 24 hours after her departure, I’m still discovering small examples of her quiet thoughtfulness. We found Fiona deeply inspiring. She is a wonderful example of how living and volunteering with integrity, intention, and focus truly leads to a rich and meaningful life. Words that come to mind when describing Fiona include: resilient, minimalist, hardworking, thankful, humble, creative, joyful, pragmatic, adaptable, thrifty, resourceful, generous, wise, gentle, tidy, and content.

We spent two weeks with O&O and T&A. There were two one-year-olds babies (one of them ours) and a toddler, so we shared the whole family's moods, with all their ups and downs. Our help mainly consisted of taking care of the house: we prepared all the meals, took care of general housekeeping, looked after the children and did the shopping. In our free time, we could spend time in the garden (except for one day, it was sunny every day!) or explore the city. It was good to share our experiences and cultures – we come from Poland, Olympia from Germany, and Olmo from Spain. We agreed 100% on how to raise children, so it was very nice to listen to each other's experiences and plans :) We would like to recommend this home as friendly and warm; we were welcomed with respect and trust.

Our stay at Giorgos and Athena's farm was really really beautiful. We had a great time and the talks we shared with both of them were really fun and nice. Right when we arrived we felt like at home, we were welcomed nicely and everything felt pretty easygoing. The animals are very lovely and we enjoyed to help out with for example preparing food for them. Apart from helping out we had more than enough freetime and the opportunity to visit nice places! Athena and Giorgos are very helping, kindhearted and nice people, we can only recommend to visit them! We also really enjoyed the Thai chi lessons we could join during our stay and would love to come by their place again.

Emma is a very lovely person. She stayed for two weeks and was a great help. She is reliable, hardworking, and works very independently. She helped with gardening, cleaning, and especially with cooking, which she did with a lot of care and skill. She is thoughtful, polite, and communicates openly when something is difficult for her. Even when she is unsure, she handles tasks responsibly and with attention. She is much more capable than she sometimes believes. I can absolutely recommend her as a Workawayer and wish her all the best for her next steps. Christine

Spent a week with Ana & Andrew, very kind, warm and welcoming people. Worked with 3 other workawayers so had great time getting to know them and the conversations. Work involved whatever projects needed doing on the house; Jordan sanded and taped door ready for painting & painted the house, Jack fixed doors that weren't shutting properly inside the house and odd carpentry jobs. Bikes we can use, 30 min walk to south beach, close to Freo. Andrew was even kind enough to drop us off to our next workaway. :) Would highly recommend

Deana came to house sit and look after our 2 labrador dogs for a week whilst we were away. We spent a very pleasant evening with her before we headed off for our holiday the next morning. Deana sent us photos and updates of our the boys whilst we were away. We came home to a clean and tidy house and happy dogs with waggy tails. Deana had made us the most delicious tai butternut soup and homemade bread for when we arrived home. A lovely touch. She had also deep cleaned our rather dirty hob filters for us! Thanks Deana, it was a pleasure to meet you.

luke and I stayed at the sanctuary for just 9 short days and we had a great experience. Everyone was very kind and the cats were lovely. Especially the full-time managers, really kind and helpful people. There was a strong sense of community between the managers and volunteers. They provided really good food and there was no shortage of supplies and necessities. Thankyou everyone for having us and we wish you the best!

Wendy gave me home for a week and a half after my other arrangements didn't workout. She is warm-hearted, loving and particular about the job that needs to be done around the house. I had fun organising, cleaning, sorting things out, and I realny enjoyed sewing. The work is fair and there is always something to do which I loved! The flat is about 15-min walk from Altona balcony which became my favorite spot to admire harbour sunsets - highly recommended even in winter. Thank you Wendy for everything and until next time!

My two weeks as a volunteer tutor for Mint was a joy. I worked with students from ages 4 to 26, sometimes one-on-one and sometimes in small groups at two different locations. Having been a college instructor, I was given a lot of leeway in how to cover lessons. During most of the two weeks, I shared teaching duties and outings with other Workaway volunteers. Mint and her husband Nan took us on several excursions and delivered me to the train on my last day of the stay. I had a private room in the building and received two meals each workday from nearby restaurants. I enjoyed Nakhon Sawan immensely. It has a beautiful city park located within walking distance of the building and very few foreign tourists.

I spent 2 weeks with Katie, Dave, Delilah and Freddie and it was absolutely great! Delilah and Freddie are sweet, active kids and Katie and Dave are lovely hosts. My work mostly included spending time with the kids and some light housework. I enjoyed conversations with Katie and Dave during dinner. I learned about Cane toading, some island history and facts and some info about Fiji from their time spent there. MacLeay Island has several beach walks to explore with time off and is easily accessible by round-the-clock ferries departing from the mainland and surrounding islands. I was able to explore nearby Stradbroke Island on a day off which is viewable from MacLeay. Katie was very kind to drive us and the kids to the Gold Coast for a fun day trip as well. I will look back at my time spent on MacLeay Island with their family fondly!

As this was my first volunteer experience I had some apprehensions, but I can assure you that Zaki and his family will do everything in their power to make you feel happy and safe. As shyness is part of my personality, it took me a couple of days to properly open up, but this process might've taken way longer if it wasn't for their kindness, respect and smiles. I deeply enjoyed my 10 days stay. They are great hosts. Zaki knows how to provide for his family and friends, as well as for the volunteers that come and go by their beautiful tree house. Yati, Zaki's wife, is very kind and cooks wonderfully. I'll miss their food and warmth. Sofia, their daughter is a bright kid. She speaks English so well and will teach you many great card games that you'll be able to enjoy together. Ian, their son, is also a very kind kid, when you take time to learn how he proceeds with people. Shoutout to their cats Simba, Jojo, Hibou and Coco, they bring their own way of calmness and (sometimes) hugs. Thanks Zaki, Yati, Sophia and Ian, Ill always remember this experience and your unconditional smiles <3

This place was one of the best projects me and my daughter(5yrs old) have worked, it was an overall great experience. We learned a lot, Luis makes you feel like family. We arrived at a time when things were very busy so we got to watch the beginning of the end results here. We spent a lot of time relaxing with the kitties Carmelo abd Panthera and helping with cleaning, cleaning the pool, and helping with Temazcal, we would go into Cacalchén when Luis went to use internet and charge devices but for the most part Luis had power banks or would charge my power banks (use Bait not Telcel for good service) we met Luis mom I cooed with her and she would cook for us, Luis also cooked a few meals with us, we've shared food with his business partner and workers. The only thing unexpected was being alone there for 1-2days I didn't expect but me and my daughter worked through it
