I had such a great time with Delphine, David, Charles and Léonie!! As soon as you arrive, you already feel part of the family. They are extremely welcoming, always ready to help you at any moment, and Delphine has always been caring and full of great, infectious energy!! I had the opportunity to go to school with her and show her students a presentation about myself and my country. It was an unforgettable moment seeing the enthusiasm of all of them, so curious and lovely. Delphine really encouraged me to visit the area around, and so I had the chance to see La Brède, Bordeaux and the Dune du Pilat. Thank you so much for this great experience!❤️🫶🏾

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience here. It truly means a lot to us. We are very happy that you enjoyed your time with the students and with our team. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where volunteers feel comfortable while helping our students gain confidence in learning English. As you mentioned, many of our students are beginners, so patience, encouragement, and simple interaction make a big difference for them. We are also glad that you had the chance to experience life in San Vicente Pacaya and explore nearby places. The volcano hike is definitely one of the highlights of the area! Thank you again for your support, dedication, and positive energy during your stay. You will always be welcome here, and we hope our paths cross again in the future. Best wishes and safe travels! the Team

We decided to host Joseph quite last-minute, and we are truly grateful that we did! He arrived in his van with his lovely dog, Max, and joined our home and temporary volunteer community just before the end of this month’s exchange. From the very beginning, Joseph brought a calm, warm and thoughtful presence that blended naturally with everyone around. As his main task, he took on the building of a wooden compost toilet (quite fancy and elaborate in its design) and directly exceeded our expectations with his skill, work ethic, attention to detail and patience. Working from the heart with focus and consistency, he happily shared his knowledge of woodworking and building, gently guiding our team along the way. During our exchange, we discovered a humble, rebellious, community-oriented person who enjoys meaningful conversations and sharing cultures and life experiences. With him, many evenings filled with deep, insightful discussions and fun, as he offered reflections, life advice, or fun games from his home country. At the same time, Joseph was always very respectful of people, spaces and the rhythm of the household. Even though our initial agreement was only for a few days, we very quickly extended his stay to the maximum days possible, which probably says everything about how much we appreciated his presence here. Joseph is simply a lovely human being who shares his gifts generously along his path, and we wholeheartedly recommend him to other hosts. Joseph, again, thank you deeply for everything. You and Max will always be welcome here, and we wish you both all the very best for your next adventures!

A week out of time at Christina and Anders' who welcomed me with open arms to their farm. A quiet and peaceful place where I spent a week taking care of the animals (sheep, ponies, chickens, ducks, and cats) and taking the time to talk together about many topics and watch the Paralympic Games. It was a wonderful experience that I will remember, I was able to visit Visby and Fårö and thus discover the beautiful nature that Gotland offers. Thank you for your hospitality and thank you for everything. Det var fantastiskt, vi ses snart☀️

We really enjoyed our time here and would be happy to return. Thuan's place is very beautiful and we have a lot of pride in being part of maintaining and growing that environment. Lunch and dinner were provided each work day and work was always 7-12 so your time was your own after lunch. Our time there was the deepest we were able to experience Vietnamese culture. Very grateful we ended up here.

If you love dogs and cats, this is the place for you. Unlike some shelters where the animals often live together in cramped conditions, here they find a little paradise. Over 30 dogs and nearly 20 cats have found a new home with Iris and Christos. Most are sick, old, or disabled. But there are also young dogs and cats, some of which are still adoptable. Everyone has their own space – the dogs live in several packs and the cats have their own house with a really lovely garden. We were part of this project for almost two months and grew very fond of these furry friends. Even though it rained almost constantly during the first month, and the daily walks were rained out, we helped wherever we could. This started with everyday tasks like feeding the animals, cleaning the cat house and picking up dog feces. Later, we also took on jobs around the grounds, such as mowing the lawn, building privacy screens and pruning trees. And most importantly, lots and lots of petting in between. Almost every animal craved attention and extra cuddles. Ken and Jojo became especially dear to us and were the best guardians of our camper van, which we parked in their garden. Iris and Christos provided us with the essentials and let us experiment in the kitchen. Shortly before our departure, Christos prepared a delicious barbecue for everyone, which was the perfect finishing touch to our stay. It was an incredibly valuable experience for us to work so closely with animals and gain a deeper understanding of life on an animal sanctuary. We are grateful for the opportunity and have great respect for Iris and Christos.

Our three weeks at the academy were a truly special and heartwarming experience. Spending time with the children, accompanying them in their play, sharing emotions, and experiencing many beautiful moments together was both inspiring and deeply rewarding. The academy is not only a beautiful place in the heart of incredible Kappadokya, but also a space full of warmth, kindness and community. It would not be the same without Esma’s and Şeyda’s organization and care, Fatma’s delicious meals that brought everyone together every day, and Necip’s humble but vital support taking care of the horses and quietly making sure everything runs smoothly. We would also like to give a big shoutout to our fellow Workawayers Ana, Bálint, Savannah and Loong, who created such a cheerful atmosphere with great conversations, laughter and shared adventures. Thank you all for welcoming us so warmly. We leave with beautiful memories and a lot of gratitude.

We just had the most beautiful stay at Jamie's place in Little River and it couldn't have been a better way to end our time in NZ! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Ann and Beau, and then slowly introduced to the rest of this incredible 3-gen family (with their most adorable puppers!). The family never hesitates to involve us in their lives and organic way of living - we took morning walks with Ann and pups, learnt flax weaving from Samara (such a patient teacher!), made origami with Brayden (the most eloquent and gentle-hearted 12yo we know!), had good chats with Beau, and laughed loads with Jamie! The work was never too difficult and Ann made sure we took plenty of breaks especially on hot sunny days! Their property has been transformed over the few years they have been living there, and it's a testament to the work they have put into restoring the land - we will never forget watching the sunrises, sunsets, changing cloudscapes, and sleeping under a night sky full of stars. The food that we had during our time there also deserves a mention - such nourishing kai from the land and sea, made with so much love! We left with our hearts and souls so much fuller, and we couldn't be more grateful to this beautiful family.

Nat and me were at Rachel and David for three weeks. We really enjoed it! David and Rachel showed us on the weekends the area of the Byron Hinterland. During the week we worked 4 hours a day in the garden. Did some whipper snipper, push mower and feed the chickens. Rachels cooling was amazing and David drove us to very special places! We get to know the locals at the Tavern. It was an amazing workaway! would recommand to get the full Aussie experience 😇

It was great to have the opportunity to teach here. The staff were very supportive from the start, helping me to get established in my accommodation, providing me with a fresh outfit for work and giving me a lift in on the first day. My hotel had more than I expected, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, smart TV and it was close to the city center and all the shops. A bus was provided every day for school and the driver was always willing to pick you up and drop you off where you needed to be. At school the staff were very professional, allowing you freedom to teach a variety of classes but also assisting you when you needed it. Many of the children were enthusiastic to have us and I was very grateful to spend the month with the students and the staff here. Our manager was also willing to take us to see some sites of particular interest such as Ajlun where we went to visit the castle and Umm Quayis where we saw a spectacular view of the Sea of Galilee and the neighbouring countries. We were given an allowance to buy food and provided with additional food and drink supplies from the cafeteria. Unfortunately the war in the region caused too much disruption for us to continue, but the staff did their best to help us prepare our next steps for when we needed to leave.

Spending my January at Ali’s food forest near Fethiye for my engineering school internship was my very first volunteering experience, and it was absolutely amazing. Ali is a wonderful host who has created a true sanctuary. The philosophy here is so refreshing: no strict hierarchy or rigid schedules. We were a great team of international volunteers, organizing our tasks naturally. Ali always leads with kindness and easily finds lighter tasks if someone is tired. The community vibe was magical. We worked with music, shared outstanding meals (special thanks to Hanan for her cooking!), and finished our days around a campfire. Listening to Ali share his life stories under the stars are memories I will cherish forever. If you love nature, freedom, and permaculture, do not hesitate. Thank you, Ali, for sharing your forest and your dream with us! Axel from France ;)

Meeting Lene was one of my best Workaway experiences. Lene is very friendly, easy to get along with, independent, and efficient in everything she does or undertakes, making her a valuable asset. She was a great help with preparing the planting beds and maintaining the land, and I loved our time together and our conversations. I would be delighted to welcome her back if she's ever in the area again... I highly recommend her.

I stayed with Alejandro for 8 days 7 of wich he had a friend over from the US. I was immediately made feel confortable and at ease. The dogs ,Bella and Flaco, are really funny and well behaved. Alejandro has several projects around the house, he's very respectful, kind, and the communication was always clear. The house is in a nice, safe part of the city just 20 min bus away from the centre it's like a small village since there is evrything shopwise. It' s 3 min walk from the Factory where we went for free dance classes held on fridays night .

Hallel & Negev stayed with us for almost three weeks together with their daughter Pliya, and Hallel’s brother Yedidya. They were wonderful Workawayers and a pleasure to host. They completed a lot of work during their stay, both independently and with the help of AI tools. They were proactive, reliable, and took initiative when needed. Communication was always clear and easy, which made collaborating very smooth. Their lovely daughter Pliya was absolutely no obstacle to the work at all everything went very naturally and pleasantly. They helped us with several projects in and around the house, and the quality of their work was excellent. We would happily welcome them back anytime and can absolutely recommend them to any future hosts.

I was supposed to stay one week and ended staying 3 this is how much I liked my workaway experience at Home sweet home. First there is Rio the dog , I was walking Rio for one and half hours in the morning, Rio is strong but a sweetie and I still miss our walks. Home sweet Home house rules and instructions of what needed doing were clear and I had plenty of free time. Sergio's is usually only around during week-ends, is Elisa, Sergio's partner, managing the place. Elisa only speak spanish , not a problem for me, but it wouldn't be a problem for non spaninsh speakers either. The place is only 25 min walk from the centre where there is lot going on being a university town. I always felt very safe in Guanajuato.

Gracias queridos amigos! Cecilia y Dante
