This experience with Hasan and Ziba was more than perfect.I felt home.Their only aim was to share their knowledge and just get help from me.We worked in harmony.I learned lots of things from them.I learned Cypriot culture. We created local products together and I also learned from them how to protect nature, soil and environment.I learned basic principals of permaculture and it inspired me lott.I can tell lots of positive things about them until morning. It was such a great experience and I Advise their farm to everyone.I felt safe I learned many new things and immediately I connected with their chickens and environment. Also their place is close to sea by bike and I abled to discover ancient settlements and beautiful sunset in the sea. Thanks for eveyrthing

We spent two wonderful weeks with this amazing community, and it was truly a great experience for us. During our stay we mainly helped with the house they recently bought next door and are currently renovating. We had our own room and shared a bathroom. Sometimes we cooked dinner for everyone, other times someone else cooked, and if nobody felt like cooking there was always food in the house, so we were definitely well taken care of! 😋 The area has the industrial vibes of this part of Germany and it really is something unique and stuck with us in an enriching way. You can go for many walks nearby in nature or easily take the bus to explore other places. Supermarkets are close, and whenever we had questions or needed help, they were always there for us. We shared many lovely moments together, like board games evenings, trip to the 2nd hand shop and having grill parties in the garden. They also let us use their sauna outdoor hot tub! These are memories we will always carry with us. ✨ See you again one day! For now Grazie mille 🙏 and we wish you the best of luck with the new house and all the exciting adventures ahead! 🍀

My stay at Rudi’s place was a deep dive into nature. At his land you’re sourrounded by trees and plants. It’s very calm and beautiful. I was staying in a wooden hut all for myself which was amazing. The work was mostly about cutting trees in the forest to create space. But also nice little projects like builung a ‘house’ for a duck that was on the property. We also did a lot of trips to friends of his and he showed me around the area. All in all i really enjoyed my time there, Rudi has lots of knowledge in building and the nature that sourounds him. Thank you again for everything Rudi!

Holala!!!

"Mizu", short name for Mizuho, means "water" in Japanese. In her case, I woud definitely say "sparkling water"! Mizu is full of energy, very open, helpful, enthusiast, a real sunshine in the house, always with a big smile. I would also like to point out her excellent communication skills! She was a great help in the renovation of the attic. I am very grateful and I strongly recommend her! :-)

I stayed 5 weeks at the hostel both as a volunteer and helping to manage the hostel while the manager was away and could've easily stayed much longer. Immediately upon arrival I felt very welcomed and comfortable - the dynamic between all the volunteers felt like a family and it was really easy to communicate and spend time together. We were often cooking together, taking walks around town, going to the river and the miradors, etc. Jericó is a magical little town always with some sort of event going on. Festivals, concerts, etc. Josie is a gem, I was super comfortable working alongside her. We all made so many friends amongst the guests - 9 times out of 10 the guests love the hostel and the town so much that they end up extending their stay again and again which I believe is a testament to just how special it is. Highly recommend :)

It is a great time with Tilly 🇳🇱 and Francesco 🇧🇷 That's why I have decided to stay until the end of June instead of just 2 weeks😄 The meals, the work and resting time are just in perfect balance. We start the day with a fixed breakfast at 8.30🥐🍳☕ Then we’ll go through the tasks. Planting trees & taking care of them, painting houses, moving furnitures, cleaning up...these are just some examples. At 11 AM we have a coffee/ tea break and two times per week some more people are joining 🙃 It is always "gezellig". Tilly's courgette soup is so delicious 😋 This is really an amazing place. Thank you so much🧡

We spontaneously stayed at Moas place for about one week in March 2026 and our time there was wonderful! First of all, her old school building is just such a nice house with so much great space, interesting history and loads of nice little details (even if its not finished yet). Moa has big plans for the house and also the garden and it must be an absolute paradise, when everything is finished:) We worked a lot in the garden, digging and woodchipping, but also inside, removing the old watertanks in the garage. The work was physically demanding, but we always had the possibility to switch tasks to get breaks and the workload was never too much. Normally Moa gave us a good instruction to our tasks, so that we could work on them individually. She was always open for questions and different ideas! Our time at Moas place was really nice and inspiring. There was always great food, many possibilities to recharge but also to meet and get together with other Workawayers. We felt super comfortable and in good company. Moa had great tips for activities in her area, we spent our free days hiking in Söderasens National Park and going to Helsingborg (really nice city!) So Moa, thank you so much for hosting us!:)

Truly one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I spent a week at Dionny's house and loved every minute of it. From helping Dionny cook fresh ceviche in the kitchen to trecking Lake 513, it was more than I could have asked for. The work is reasonable and the accommodation is great. Overall, highly recommend. Thank you Alan, Dionny, and everyone else I met along the way.❤️

Sarah has all the qualities we look for in a volunteer. She is positive, friendly and helpful. Curious and intressted, knowledgeable and very adaptive. Sarah participated in many different kinds of farm work and local cultural activities, everyone loved having her around.

Nadine had booked months in advance and actually showed up, which with Workaway isn't always a given. Maybe it's that Swiss reliability and planning, but it's just really nice when you can count on someone. She's open, funny and genuinely interested in you and your life. The conversations in the evenings and during meals were really valuable. She shared a lot about her own life and culture, and that feeling of mutual exchange isn't something you get with every volunteer. With the kids she clicked straight away. When she left, all three gave her a hug, including our youngest, who is normally way too shy for that. She didn't speak the language that well, but was still really great at connecting with them. For the work she's the ideal Workaway volunteer. With her background as a landscaper, one word is enough when it comes to the garden. She independently tackled tree felling, pruning and chipping without needing to be told twice. It was fun teaching her how to use the tractor. And in the evenings she naturally helped tidy up the kitchen so I could put the kids to bed. Small things, but you notice them. It's a shame she had to leave after just one week due to a bereavement in her family, but it was a great week while it lasted. She's very welcome to come back.

Liam stayed with us for two weeks and was an absolute pleasure to host. He's genuinely friendly and remarkably easy to work with. Whatever you ask, he simply says yes and gets it done. He's quick, efficient, and needs barely a word to understand what needs doing. He was mostly in charge of the wood chipper and removed a lot of mortar from a natural stone wall, so that somebody can repoint it later. Beyond that, he fixed our couch, did some woodwork, and cooked brilliantly; he makes a fantastic risotto. He connected wonderfully with my kids, playing video games with them, which they loved watching. He's coming back in April and we're really looking forward to it. Just an all-around easy, hassle-free guest to have around.

Really enjoyed having Vicente around. He tackled a huge painting job in my house, working his way through the staircase and hallway, several bedrooms, the bathroom, a toilet and a media room. He's great when you give him a bigger job he can sink his teeth into at his own pace. He's a funny guy with interesting stories about his home country, Chile. You can tell he loves it there, even after traveling for so long. He cooked some great Chilean vegan meals for us too. We also did some sport together, going for a run and he got some miles in on my road bike. It was great seeing him get enthusiastic about exercise. He mentioned he's heading back to Chile and taking a break from Workaway for a while, but if he ever comes knocking, say yes. I definitely would.

The time I spent at Annabell place was my very first Workaway experience and I couldn't ask for a better start. Annabell and her kids, Agatha and Amor are lovely, kind and generous and made my stay warm, despite the cold days, and wonderful. I was able to discover the city of Gent, which is a rare gem in Europe, and help the family by doing some houseworks, picking the grocery and other tasks that were absolutely well explained and organized. Despite my lack of experience in childcare, I had a great time with the kids, playing outside and keep them company while Annabell was away. I highly recommend Annabell as host, but above all as person who is incredibly caring and genuine. Thank a lot for the experience and I hope to cross your path again in the future!

It was a wonderful place to stay and share hands and heart. This hotel was a dream project and you can feel it in so many details. It's been created with love. I spent almost 2.5 months over christmas and new year there and time literally flew. I supported in the hotel's restaurant/bar, and guided some meditations. It was a good balance of tasks. I enjoyed my work, and there was enough time to enjoy Santa Catalina and its lovely beach, too. It's a small town, but it's filled with charme. Olivia and Tuza took me on a trip to Coiba and a beautiful smaller island. Moments that will stay in my heart. Both of them, just like their team, are great humans with a good sense of humor. The team talks in spanish all the time which was fantastic in my case as I wanted to practise spanish and there is no better way than to talk with locals in everyday life. From the beginning till the end, I felt appreciated as a person and for the work that I did. I always gave my best, and in exchange I was provided with a bright private room with aircon and private bathroom, just as delicious freshly prepared food. It was a fair exchange that I recommend to every future volunteer interested in a mix of beach, relaxed town, work and spanish practise. You will be welcomed and treated kindly. Thank you very much, dear Olivia and Tuza. Un abrazo fuerte!

We had such a great time here. The location is amazing, the work is fun and diverse and you have enough time to explore the surroundings. John and Elena taught us a lot about starting your own conservation project. We will take that knowledge with us, as well as many new skills like harvesting seeds, working with the chainsaw and brushcutter, clearing trails and many others. The adobe house for volunteers is cosy and comfortable and John and Elena make sure you have everything you need. We also worked together with Tomas quite often, which was lots of fun. We can recommend this workaway to everyone and hope we'll get the chance to return some day!

I had a GOOD four-week-stay at the Erve (estate) in the East of Netherlands/Berkelland. Time flew by too fast and I will be back for sure. Thank you Frits and Henk for a good time, nice talks and some laughs. Surely we’d managed to get some things done. Also visited Zuthpen and Deventer (both very recommendable) and the Nature around is just stunning. I absolutely enjoyed all the beautiful details regarding interior design - you can tell Frits has got quite an eye for beauty. Also my with my fellow workawayers Luca and Lucien I felt I've been very lucky. Great guys. Thanks to all of you.
