Description
I'm a single mom to twins (born in 2022) who's looking for someone to take over some of the household shores: grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, gardening,... so I get to spend more quality time with my kids and don't have the entire mental load to myself.
We are outgoing, we love to travel.
Ideally we are joined by someone who is organized, structured, clean, tidy, calm and loves to have a clean house and knows to cook. Even better when you're flexibel to travel with us, inside Belgium but also abroad. For both shorter and longer periods, but that's all to be talked about. Initially it's mainly the household to be taken care of.
Of course, you need to like kids, although I'm not looking for an au pair, my kids are the heart of our family and household.

I encourage Workawayers to spend their free time to discover the city and cities around. We are very centrally located.
You'll be close to the train station and rapidly connected to other cities in Belgium and around Europe (Paris, London, Amsterdam,.. are all very close either by train or bus, from close to the house). Usually we have a bike for you as well. If you have a drivers' license, you can probably even take my car.
And of course, depending on your mother tongue, you'll have a place to learn a new language if you'ld like.
When you write me, please let me know your expectations for your stay as well! How much time could you help around, when would you like to be outside of the house, what do you need from me or in the house? What is your daily routine like usually (evening/morning person) and how flexible are you with that? What about your diet and other restrictions?

Help
You'll help me take care of the house and the garden (mainly in summer, but also in winter there are still some things) and might to some small DIY stuff in the house (like hang a lamp etc).
You'll help me keep the house clean and tidy, do the dishes, do the laundry, ironing, folding and making beds. Compare it to a hotel service ;-) and you'll be responsible for groceries shopping and cooking nice meals.
From time to time we might take day trips or even travel. We have a holiday home at the beach that we often go to for the weekend but we might also travel abroad.
Do you have/ love (small) children? You know how to (quickly) cook a meal with ingredients available? Or already had your own household? That's a big advantage!
Note: we do not accept digital nomads or people coming in this experience while still working for someone (back home or in Belgium) or studying (full time). We want this to be a full experience and we do not offer free accommodation for people who're bound to working hours of their employer. Unfortunately this happend a bit too much in the past... therefore the mentioning.

Accommodation
You will have your own single bed, depending of who else is around you will share your room or have the space to yourself.
You will share the bathroom and toilet.
The living room and kitchen are the places I spend most of my time: time with the kids, doing my paperwork, doing my job,... I like my privacy and space at nights, on the moments my kids aren't around.
What else ...
Visit Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp. From Brussels you can find your way quickly to Paris, London and Amsterdam by train. And next to the house there are busses to almost all the European capitals!

Limited internet access

Can host digital nomads
There is limitless internet (although it becomes slower if you're using a certain amount but I've never exceeded it). I'm not sure you can trade in bitcoins or anything like that that requires enormous internet connections, but besides that I think all is possible (just ask me ;-))

I had a wonderful experience while there. Annabelle is very accommodating, explains everything, and will help you wherever she can.
My routine was waking up at 06:00 with the twins and allowing Annabelle to sleep a bit more. During that time I would… read more
Amor and Agatha were 8 months old when I was there. They are the loveliest joyful little ones I've met. I was mainly playing with them, making sure they were ok and had clean diapers and feeding them. I miss them a lot, I really loved them. Annabell is a very invested mother. She gives all the… read more
