We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Nanna and Laura from Denmark, and we couldn’t have asked for better workawayers. They were fantastic helpers – super reliable, efficient, and always willing to jump in wherever needed. Once we explained a task, they handled it independently and thoroughly, often finishing quicker than expected and to a very high standard. It was clear that they take pride in doing a good job. Beyond their strong work ethic, they were a wonderful fit for our family. Friendly, polite, and very conscientious, they were respectful of our home and routines and easy to have around. Their positive attitude and calm, thoughtful nature made everyday life flow smoothly. We truly appreciated having them stay with us and would warmly recommend Nanna and Laura to any future hosts. They will be a great asset to any family or project they join.

I had a great week with Carolann, helping out with the pick your own visitors to her blueberry farm and planning a garden. Really enjoyed our meals together and my cottage was very comfortable with all necessary amenities. Carolann is friendly, generous and explains everything clearly. I'd definitely recommend this workaway to anyone.

Thank you so much Patty and Noah and everyone else, especially the animals that became such loving friends over the time we spent together. We had the most special time and where really sad we didn’t plan to stay longer. We will definitely be back! Not only was it so special to spend time and learn so much about the animals, getting to know them and their beautiful personalities, but also to spend time with other vegan people sharing a common ground and philosophy, it made us feel like we are in the right place. We felt a huge sense of community in sharing stories and meals, laughs and even challenges. At the beginning it feels like a lot to learn which eases quickly and becomes your new routine. Being at the sanctuary deepened our understanding of veganism to another level, as now we have friends that are cows, deer and chickens. We enjoyed working and it brought new moments of joy every day as you connect more and more with the place and the individuals you care for. We also felt like having enough space for ourselves, enjoying day trips to Nationalparks in the area or just spending time reading on the beautiful terrace with view over the dam.

This place is magical! Deep into nature you'll not only find all kinds of animals, but connections, good food, friendship and who knows, maybe even yourself. ;) Thank you so much for having me! <3

I had the best time staying with Miranda, Steven, and Haruki. They are very welcoming, open‑minded people and made me feel at home from day one. The work was very manageable: mostly cleaning the house (vacuuming and mopping), weeding, or playing and speaking French with their lovely 9‑year‑old son, Haruki. I was also able to do a bit more work on one day so I could take a trip or spend the entire next day in the city. I enjoyed walking to the beach in the afternoons as well. What I appreciated most was being able to practice French and English at the same time, as well as living with such creative souls and listening to their music. I would absolutely recommend staying with them.

This was the most excellent workaway. Luisa and her family are AMAZING and so so kind, their home is gorgeous, and the students are wonderful. The town is not far and has all the essentials. The pool, hammock and fruit trees are so wonderful and the accommodation is comfy and has everything you need. I arrived and was welcomed with open arms and never felt even the slightest bit nervous even though I spoke almost no spanish at all and it was my first workaway. Meta is also a gorgeous area and there are tons of opportunities to ride horses, see cacao farms, and more. This place is a cultural experience in the best possible way and it will forever be a favorite from my time in South America, I would recommend it to anyone!

Xhekli stayed with us for about 2 weeks, I wish he could have stayed much longer. He was extremely kind, a wonderful friend and a fantastic helper. He was always ready to try new things. He did the hardest job in our garden, digging, and repaired and maintained the power tools we used. Whether working with people or alone, he was a real asset to our farm and we hope our paths will cross again. If you ever have the chance to host this young man, definitely consider it. He is truly a very good person. Nuri

Fenja was a delight to host for two weeks. She's sensible and independent, was great with the kids, and generous with her time. She did crafts with the children and made up fun games on the trampoline, looked after the laundry, helped out heaps in the kitchen, picked fruit, and sorted out a big mixed up Lego emergency for us. Thanks Fenja!

Rodrigo and his son are kind and thoughtful people who we got to meet during our first day in Chile. We stayed with them for 5 days, and it was an amazing experience. The work was more than reasonable, as we mainly helped with cleaning and organizing. Most of our time together was shared cooking, eating, and exploring the beautiful cities surrounding the area. We learned a lot from Rodrigo, and are grateful for his patience with our Spanish. We hope to one day come say hello and share more stories! Todo es possible! Gracias! -Mat & Reb

This was our 8th Workaway and definitely our favourite so far. The warmth of the family, the experience of traditional Chilean customs, the sharing with other volunteers, the wonderful joy of being surrounded by fantastic and charismatic animals and the bonus of being asked to teach English to Fafi, who is a total delight and a privilege to meet. It's hard to imagine how our time could have been any more special than it was.

After many years of volunteering, I can definitely say that this is probably the best one that I've taken place in. Not only because the voluntourism initiative allows you to get to know the beautiful natural landscapes of the area (like mount ijen, bromo, and tumpak sewu waterfalls), but specially due to the people. Ria, Rio and their family are all some of the nicest people I've met and the most inspiringful leaders that have created this project and are now impacting their community in such a positive way with the opening of a new highschool. Staying with Haryo and Shanah was also a true blessing, since they made me feel like home, always having everything I needed, and sharing some nice chats. They also took me out to know the local food, which was astonishingly delicious. Finally, the kids were definitely the best of all, always excited to meet someone new and sharing their beautiful energy and smiles with me. I felt like they taught me far more than I did. For anyone that is considering on joining this workaway, I would only give one recommendation: stay longer!

Lucy stayed with us for 10 days. She dropped right in to our family, and helped out a lot with her diverse mix of skills. She played with the kids, cleaned, baked, sewed, tidied and weeded, and was all round a lovely house guest. Thanks Lucy!

I could not have had a better experience in Koh Rong. Cosimo and Belinda were such a kind, caring and lovely souls. They were so easy going and made me feel super comfortable and happy. The place where they live is amazing, is located in a small village in the most beautiful spot of the island, clear sea, like turquoise blue, white sand and palm trees everywhere, is literally a paradise. Also the Cambodian people are so friendly and welcoming, you will meet many of them. The job is super easy in the restaurant and you still have lots of free time to enjoy the island. Big thanks to Adam and Savi as well, they are essential to make everything works there, as they cook the delicious Italian food. The bangalow where I shared with another 2 volunteers was super cute, cozy and gives you the island vibes…. definitely a place to come back…. Much love !

Tony was a great host and Crosby is a really sweet dog and I never met such a cuddly cat as Rosie. His place is very spacey and big and the Kotatsu was a perfect place to chill. The place is in a good location for exploring Kumamoto city, since it's not too far from the center. The only thing you should know is that you're going to spend a lot of time "alone" with the pets, because Tony is working until quite late and in my case he was also on a work trip. But the workaway is really fair, since the task is just about 2h daily

It was a wonderful experience to work and live on the ranch. You truly become part of the family and, as many others have written, the authentic food is absolutely amazing. I am very grateful for all the experiences I was able to have. I learned an incredible amount and constantly grew beyond myself. I met amazing people and was able to immerse myself in a very local and authentic Mexican way of life. José organized many activities and took us everywhere, which made the whole experience feel truly real and genuine. Thank you so much again for everything. I learned how to ride horses here and discovered my love for them. A small note for future workers: about 90% of the time only Spanish is spoken. At the beginning this was very challenging, but it also helped me learn some Spanish. So if you don’t speak any Spanish at all, you should be aware that you won’t understand a lot at first — however, everyone was always willing to help and translate. I was also working on 7/7 days, but I got so much back from the work with the animals and in generell from the family on activities, that it was no problem. I am thankful for everything and for this enrichment in my life. I will always remember this as a very special time.

We had such a fantastic two weeks staying with Eliana, Pedro, Caramelo, Chispas (aka Toothless!), Gizmo and Mincho. We were lucky enough to go on adventures in Kitty (their incredible old jeep) to swimming holes nearby and beautiful hikes in the canyon. Curití is a very cute little town and a short bus ride away from San Gil and Barichara, all of which we had so much time to explore! The views from Eliana and Pedro’s house were spectacular and the pool absolutely amazing in the heat! Eliana and Pedro were so incredibly lovely and kind, we learnt so much about Colombian history, nature and culture, as well as all the amazing types of arepas they made for us to try! We hope to be back in the future and would highly recommend a stay in this peaceful oasis ☺️
