We had a wonderful three weeks with Cata, Juan, and the kids. We helped with gardening and construction projects in the mornings and early afternoons, and finished work days with lunch all together. The neighborhood is an awesome place, a ten minute walk from a beautiful river and trails all around it. The kids are the cutest and the family very generous with showing us Bariloche, helping with our Spanish, and teaching us what it’s like to build using natural construction!! An unforgettable experience, thank you Cata and Juan! Sending much love:)

Right from the beginning, there was clear communication. As clear as it can be. I sensed so much warmth in Rosine’s messages even before I met her, and meeting her, I felt it even more. Everything was clarified, well-structured, and put forward in words and actions. I really did not have a single doubt about the sessions, timetables, or anything else. Everything was communicated. Every morning she would send me the hours before I even asked. Obed was always a message away whenever I needed to go to a class or the local market. Being part of this project was like a breath of fresh air after working on projects in other African countries where getting a simple timetable was an elephant’s task! And I really appreciate organization. The empowerment sessions especially presented me with an opportunity to understand (to a degree) how Rwanda’s youth think and act. The boys’ sessions were a blast, mostly because they had loads of questions for me at the end, and that’s the point of it all, after all! For them to be curious. And question. Meeting people from all over the world is possibly just as (I think ‘more’) important than gobbling up a thousand textbooks. It opens them up to new horizons, budding possibilities, and an intangible knowledge pool. And exposing them to ‘foreigners’ is a commendable way of sharpening their ideas of the world outside of Rwanda. Rarely have I come across a project where things are so well-coordinated and organized! Kudos to all of you for putting in the effort! Keep up the incredible work. Yvan was even prepared to find a village witch once I asked, though I am glad we didn’t have further discussions on that! He probably would actually have found one. And thank you for the clean toilets! Loved it! Josine works really hard all day to keep the volunteers’ house clean and tidy. Really. Thank you for having me. I am grateful to have known Rwanda through this project. I wish I could stay longer.

Elo was a wonderful Workawayer and a great support during her time with us. She has an incredible eye for detail and worked very precisely in everything she did. Elo helped us sort through many things in our big, sometimes chaotic household and brought so much structure and clarity with her calm and thoughtful way. She supported us with many different tasks around the farm and was always reliable, kind and easy to have around. Elo is a very pleasant and warm person and it was truly nice to share this time with her. We are very grateful for all her help and for the lovely time we had together. We miss her already.

Maya was an absolutely wonderful Workawayer and a truly special presence here on our farm. From the very beginning she supported us with everything that needed to be done and somehow had the beautiful ability to make everyday life feel light and easy. She helped with all kinds of tasks around the farm and was always kind, reliable and engaged. Maya brought such a lovely energy into our home and left a lasting impression on all of us. We also loved listening to her incredible stories about her study trips to the Amazon — they were so fascinating that I still find myself telling people about them today. We miss Maya very much and are deeply grateful for the time she spent with us. We truly hope that our paths will cross again one day.

Frederikke was an absolutely wonderful Workawayer and we already miss her more than words can express. From the moment she arrived, she brought such warmth, kindness and calm energy into our home and our daily life on the farm. She helped us with everything around the house, the animals and all the small and big tasks that come with farm life, always reliable, thoughtful and with a beautiful attitude. Frederikke is also an incredibly talented cook and baker and has a wonderful understanding of healthy, nourishing food. She prepared the most delicious meals and baked amazing treats for all of us — during her stay we truly felt cared for and supported, and it made our everyday life so much easier. Frederikke was also incredibly sweet with the children and quickly became a natural part of our little community. Having her here felt so easy, warm and natural. To be honest, while she was here my everyday life almost felt like being on holiday. Her presence meant a lot to us and we are deeply grateful for the time we shared together. We miss her every single day and we are sure that we will see each other again.

Lena came to stay with us 12th Feb to the 7 March 2026. She was a super girl and we enjoyed having her to stay with us in Alicante. Lena was easy to be with and got on with her work in a keen and willing manner, Lena was a superb horse rider and was very helpful with the exercising of the horses. Unfortunately the weather during her stay didn't help us as it was impossible to do the riding that she could have done. Lena got on very well with all the other girls that were here during her stay. Lena was very easy to get on with and she was very clean and tidy around the house. Lena appreciated my efforts to cook for her as she is vegetarian and this pushed me out of my comfort zone, but it got me to think out the box about vegetarian meals and I enjoyed the challenge. We were sorry to see Lena go. Lena did some excellent gardening work for me and was super with the dogs and donkeys too. A nice workaway experience for her and us.

David stayed here for 2 weeks and was a fantastic support. He is a highly skilled and experienced carpenter, as well as having the capacity to take on all kinds of tasks (except perhaps cooking for others). He took initiative and came up with creative solutions to problems, takes great care of tools and spaces, and undertakes everything calmly, thoroughly and quickly. It was a pleasure to have him around and get to know him a little. He is very independent and happy on his own, yet also up for a good conversation. I wish him well and hope to see him back here again.

I had a wonderful six weeks staying with Eric, Nastassia and their kids. They are incredibly warm, generous hosts who made me feel at home from the moment I arrived and always made sure I had everything I needed! The work involved cooking healthy meals, some tidying and light cleaning, and occasionally helping with the kids. Everything was clear and very manageable. One of the best parts of my stay was improving my French. They kindly included me in conversations and patiently slowed down or repeated things when needed. Their youngest was learning new words so quickly while I was there, which was adorable, and their eldest often helped by correcting my accent :) The house is very spacious, and the apartment is perfectly located for exploring beautiful Montréal. I’m very grateful for such a positive experience and would highly recommend staying with them!

The wonderful Corinna is completely immersed in our everyday family life and has spared no time and effort! Whether gardening, learning English, ice bathing or spending time with the children, she has done everything more than 100%. She has adapted to our rhythm and brought a lot of fun into our full everyday life. She can sing great, is super creative, open, friendly, attentive and very humorous. She participated with us in a socio-cultural event and lives very sustainably. We will definitely keep in touch!

We had an excellent experience hosting them at our academy. From the beginning, they were incredibly friendly, respectful, and easy to work with. They helped us a lot with speaking activities for our English students, creating a very positive and comfortable environment for everyone. They were always willing to participate, share their language, and support the students during conversations. Our students really enjoyed interacting with them, and it was a great opportunity for authentic English practice. In addition, they were very responsible with the facilities. They took good care of the place, were organized, and always respectful of the academy’s rules and spaces. Beyond their help, they are simply wonderful people — kind, sociable, and very easy to live and work with. We truly appreciated their presence here and would absolutely recommend them to any future host. 10/10 experience. We would happily host them again anytime!

Andrea was such a lovely young man who was an absolute delight to host. As he has said he helped trim the olive trees. Helped with a rather tedious job of filling the cracks in the walls of my sons house. And Helped me around my house both times because the weather was so bad. (Rain, rain and more rain). We found him to be a very personable young man who we would be happy to host again if he were to come back our way.

J'ai aimé la philosophie de travail de Marysianne, qui rend la tâche agréable et plaisante. J'ai aimé mettre du cœur à l'ouvrage pour elle. En plus, elle est super cuisinière et de bon conseils.

What an absolute star Agnes turned out to be. We had a slight, actually quite a bad leak on our roof that we desperately needed to rectify. Agnes pulled out all the stops and got stuck in helping me seal the tiles and walls with waterproofing. A task she did with great care and attention you seriously would have thought she was a professional painter. She also helped me sand down my sons ceiling in his new home. Again she was so careful and attentive and what's more had a smile on her face that brightened up the task no end. She also helped trim olive trees as well as helped me tidy up the house one rainy (actually we had several rainy days). If she ever applies to come to your place. Snatch her up.

Maria, quelle grande voyageuse ! A bientôt Maria. Je passerai te voir sous peu et t'enverrai des nouvelles d'Allemagne encore plus tôt. Bises. Frédéric.

Having Valentina over as a volunteer was great. A really nice and interesting person to have around. She helped out where she could and was very eager to learn. We had loads of interesting conversations and she is always gathering new ideas for art projects. In her free time you probably find her drawing somewhere while observing nature. 🌱🌻🌲🌿 Thank you Valentina 😊

I had a wonderful stay with Lucie and her family! First of all, the house is located in a very peaceful area of Prague 4! You can reach the city center in 30 minutes with the metro and explore the beautiful city of Prague, all while being in a sort of village, with houses with gardens, a small church, a school, a grocery store, etc... Also, I received a wonderfully warm welcome! Everyone is kind and makes you feel comfortable. Lucie even taught us (me and the other volunteer) a few words of Czech, and about history and geography of the Czech Republic! We had a lot of fun cleaning and organizing all the old family memories (over 100 years of kept items), and gardening with Lucie is always a pleasure! You learn so much! Transplanting lettuce, replanting, going out to collect manure... If you love being outdoors, you'll be thrilled! Furthermore, Lucie is very kind and attentive! She always makes sure you're comfortable with the tasks you have to do. Moreover, we had a wonderful time sharing the family life! All the meals we shared, the songs we sang, discovering cartoons, the meal around the campfire, Lucie's choir show… so many wonderful memories! And of course, Šumik's cuddles made the stay 100% better, haha! This little white sweetheart is sure to win your heart! Thanks to Lucie and everyone for these 17 days spent together! Workawayers, don't hesitate to contact her for a volunteering; you won't regret it!
