    Description

My Name is Ody and I am the founder of a non-profit organization that supports, educates and develops vulnerable children in Rwanda. This organization was founded in 2020 and has already started an ambitious renovation and extension project of a public school in Bugesera, a district of Eastern province Rwanda.
Our mission is to provide a stable learning environment where the 1800 students can fulfill their academic potential, while ensuring that each child has unlimited access to clean drinking water throughout the school day and a nutritious daily lunch. By now we have installed STARLINK internet by Elon Musk, built a kitchen and two dining rooms, introduced fresh running water and a wholesome lunch, five days a week to each child. With fully installed electricity, pupils are able to undertake further studies at the end of the school day and do their homework in a safe, well lit and comfortable environment conducive to learning.

With me there are 10 team members working for our foundation (Accountant, Nurse, Academic & Teachers Development Manager, Head of Discipline & Hygiene, IT Manager, Sports Coach, Chef & Lunch Coordinator, Store Keeper, Technician). We all are looking forward to welcome volunteers!

Enjoy a powerful and empowering experience!

Volunteers will have the chance to immerse themselves into the culture of Rwanda and have rural life experience. They can learn some Kinyarwanda from locals, learn to cook and enjoy local dishes.
We believe that volunteers will learn many things while connecting to the locals and showing about themselves and about their culture.
During their stay volunteers will be able to learn about the importance of education for the students as well as English is very important for them in order to be successful in the future.

Unlike other NGO's, our main office is in the school and I am here every day supporting the children on site. For more information, please contact me. I look forward to welcoming you!

    TEACHING:
Our foundation focuses on developing the teaching skills required to deliver the national curriculum of Rwanda to the highest standards possible, increasing the number of students who pass their annual exams and continue to the next stage of their education.
This is where we need the help of volunteers! Our school really needs your help:
Our school has bright and enthusiastic students at the age of 6 to 19. We are looking for volunteers from all over the world to share their skills and experience to enrich our students' education and to guide our teachers. We’ll only get there with the support of our worldwide community. Join us on our journey!
Important to know: The local authorities and people of Rwanda accept, support and appreciate foreign initiatives.
