Aliese & Sally are extremely kind people and I would more than gladly host them again! They stayed at my apartment for around 5 weeks to catsit and water my plants. They sent me weekly text updates and pictures of my cat which was very reassuring. On my return, the apartment was absolutely spotless and smelled really good. Incredibly grateful our paths crossed!

Gabriel and Florence are such wonderful people. I felt welcomed since the day I arrived. They treated me like family and made sure I had everything I need. I learned a lot about the african culture and the differences. I also made a lot of experiences in farming and permaculture and the daily challenges they have to face in their country. There vision is to help as many young people as possible to support the community and increase lifequality. It was an honor for me to be a part of this for a little while. Just keep in mind. it's a simple life- so back to the basics. But I did enjoy this and the experience I made will last for lifetime. Thank you so much Gabriel and Florence and also thanks to your amazing kids, who welcomed me just like another sister. I am very greatful!

I had a lovely time with Kerri, Lukasz, and Aniela. Lukasz and Aniela were so welcoming and gave me a lot of good laughs. Kerri was such a gracious host and always made sure I was comfortable. They welcomed me into the family right away and told me all about New Zealand and different places in and out of Auckland that I should go and see. A wonderful start to my time in New Zealand!

Nico stayed with us for two weeks during the Christmas holidays, and the experience was very pleasant. He is a very friendly, approachable, and easygoing person to live with, always with a positive attitude and a smile. He helped us a lot with renovation work, showing great motivation, initiative, and a genuine willingness to learn and collaborate wherever help was needed. He was responsible with schedules and careful with the tasks he was assigned, which made daily life run very smoothly. It was a pleasure to share this time with him, and we fully recommend him to other hosts. Thank you, Nico, and we wish you all the best in your future travels!

Siang-Ting is sweet, bubbly and kind. She has a big heart and very willing to learn. We felt honoured to have her here with us, even if for just a short time. She spent time with us eating meals, planning shared responsibilities, and even took some lessons in painting the walls with me! I appreciated her playfulness and hanging out with Ethan at tennis 🎾 and touring around. She was like a daughter to me and a big sister to Ethan. We miss her already.

Felix was the perfect workaway-er. He joined in conversations, was eager to help out in the house and garden. He was a hard worker who wouldn't stop until the job was done. He settled into our family life very well and the more time he spent here the more we liked him. Felix is welcome back anytime

I had such a wonderful week with Phil & his family! His wife Margaret is such kind, sweet person & gave me lots of fulfilling but easy projects, mostly all weeding around the property and dog/duck-sitting for them while they went away on the weekend! Phil was an amazing cook & the girls were so much fun to be around and chat with. It was so nice to be able to work in the mornings, explore the city in the afternoons, and come home to dinner with the family. I only stayed a week, but know i always have a safe place to land when in chch with such an amazing family. Thanks so much for hosting me!!!

We experienced Workaway for the first time with Linda, and we were absolutely delighted to host her for almost one month. From the moment she arrived and throughout her stay, she was always willing to help and share her language skills. The whole family benefited from it! My son made great progress in German, my daughter in English, and I personally enjoyed her excellent advice on developing my business communication, which was a real bonus. Beyond her qualifications, Linda is a very discreet, respectful, and kind person, which made this exchange particularly pleasant. We would be very happy to host her again in the future, perhaps with her partner next time!

We’re incredibly grateful for your six weeks with us and so happy to hear how meaningful your experience was. It means a lot to hear how much you enjoyed reconnecting with horses, learning (and re-learning), and appreciating our bitless, gentle approach. We’re so glad you came to the stables and dedicated your time to help with the care of our ponies. We definitely recommend hosting Valerie, she as such a beautiful soul, she is responsible and reliable person to work with. We were pleased to have her and our local team loved to work with such easy going person. Thank you again for your kindness, your help, and your beautiful energy. You’ll always be welcome back, the ponies (and all of us) would be very happy to see you again! Saita, the ponies and team!

Hallo Fatmir and Foina :)) Thanks for letting me and Luna stay at your local Albanian mountain village. We had a great time and will come back to see how your eco village looks in a few years. It is a really nice experience to stay there. Everything worked out as it should, nice house, nice heartwarming people all around the small village. The view is unforgettable and the food was always great! There was a perfect balance between work and private free time and hanging out with you or other workawayers. Thank you and see you sometime in life. Greetings David and Luca

Yelena is just such a joyful soul and hard worker, you would want to get volunteer like her everysingle time. She is such a devoted person and we had wonderful time sharing with her. We already miss her and we wish her wonderful travels around our beautiful planet ! 100% reliable, 100% commited, 100% animal lover. Kisses from the ponies and team!

Julia came to the rescue ahah, we needed help at the stables during christmas time and she make herself free to come to Laos to help us with the ponies. We truly appreciate it and are forever grateful for her help, professionalism and skills. We did not have to train her long with the ponies as she already knew lots about horses and daily care of horses. I definitly recommend to host her, she is reliable, easy going and skilled. We had a lovely time and wish Julia beautiful travels ! Thank you so much Julia Kisses from the ponies and all the team

Beautiful people, mountains, lake, weather, food, hearts. After arriving in the humid lowlands you'll probably be very happy to reach the gorgeous highlands of Takengon. The two weeks I spent here were not enough! My hosts Mrs Tina is a great cook and host. She repeatedly asked what I would like to eat and took me places on her motorbike. She also took me paddle boarding on the lake 💙 She and her husband mr.Ger are lovely, easygoing and fun people to be around. As stated in the profile, teaching experience is not required, I hade none and that was fine. It does make things easier when your not afraid to speak in public since you're going to stand in front of groups of kids. I especially enjoyed talking to the more advanced students. They can tell you about their lives and culture while practicing their English. The way of teaching the younger ones is trying to make it fun by incorporating singing, playing games and dancing. Head, shoulders knees and toes was my go-to song. They have a lot of students in the afternoon divided over two buildings and also voluntarily teach basic level English in the mornings at disaster schools. Mr.Ger took the teachers and me out for lunch, coconuts and a durian feast after some of the morning classes. Takengon area was hit by a disaster at the end of November, a lot of roads, houses and schools were destroyed by landslides. The road getting there and away is passable but takes a bit longer at the moment. Thanks for the great experience Mr.Ger, Mrs.Tina and all of the teachers, keep on inspiring!

Miss Rija was very welcoming and hospitable. Picked me up from the airport and showed me the around the city. We didn't get a chance to watch the sunset at the shore because of the rain but I'm sure she would have stopped the rain for me if she could 😜 that's just how much she wants you to enjoy your time here. She's also a great cook who will cater to your needs. I tried durian for the first time and loved it! We shared a house and stories about our lives and culture. As mentioned in the profile, teaching experience is not needed. I had none and enjoyed it a lot. Especially the more advanced students. They can tell you about their lives and culture while practicing. The way of teaching is trying to make is fun by incorporating singing, playing games and dancing for the younger ones. Talking about topics of interest for the teenagers. Since the course is relatively new in Banda Aceh there are not a lot of students so far. Part of the job is trying to get more. I stayed just a couple of days in Banda Aceh. Then went to Pulau Weh for a few days and after this little holiday I took the bus to Takengon where the main office of 02course is. They have a lot of students there and also voluntarily teach basic level English at disaster schools. Takengon area was hit by a disaster at the end of November, a lot of roads, houses and schools were destroyed by landslides. There's a lot to do over there. I recommend you to check their profile too.

We spent 2 weeks in Eddy's place, and despite all the challenges, we ended up having an amazing experience! He explained us a lot about costa rica culture, solar power, and his passion: bees! But don't worry if you want to know more about everything else there, because if you go to his place you would probably meet the parents, who are super knowledgeable (and amazing) people! And Choco, Chori, Pan, Lobi, Clon and Titi were great companions to take care of, play with, and quickly become part of your daily routine! And how not to talk about all the other people we met, the woman of the cheese, the carpenter, some of his friends,... All super nice and friendly. It is not easy be there if you are not sure that you want to try a different way to live. Without current water you cannot waste it, so shower not every day and if you need to wash clothes... it is time to go to the river!!! Also, because there is no gas, you have to light your own fire for cooking! However, as you keep learning, you start to not only survive, but actually enjoy these moments and appreciate things in a different perspective! Note that because it is an off-grid space, Eddy may ask to contribute to pay the wifi if you want to use it. But there is tasty homegrown organic produce to enjoy! Like plátanos, goiabas, yucca, yams, camotes, coconuts, sugar cane! We really hope you have an experience as great as we had with Eddy and his family!

Had an amazing experience here at David and Berny's hostel. They were absolutely brilliant with both me and my sister. The tours and kayaking they took us on, as well as the recommendations they had were spot on and we felt comfortable and included from the beginning. The work people you meet and the volunteers are an added bonus. Proxy is great company in the hostel and is extremely helpful. Would recommend this Workaway to anyone who likes to socialise whilst getting to see some of beautiful Georgetown. The hostel owners are kind and very welcoming, as well as knowing how to have a good time.
