Hi there! I'm Niko — a polyglot, people-loving traveler from Austria with Croatian roots.

Born and raised in Austria, I grew up between cultures, so connecting with people from different backgrounds feels completely natural to me. I’m a polyglot fluent in German, English, Croatian, and Spanish, and I’m currently studying English and Spanish to become a high school teacher at the University of Vienna. I also lived in Gran Canaria during my Erasmus semester, which only strengthened my passion for traveling and meeting people from all over the world.

I’m a very social, open-minded person who enjoys deep conversations, language exchange, and making international friendships. I love working with people and have solid experience in hospitality and customer service — from working as a bartender in one of Vienna’s best nightclubs, to two years as a cashier at Hofer (Austria’s version of Aldi), and now working in Room Service at one of Vienna’s most luxurious hotels. These jobs taught me responsibility, teamwork, and staying positive even during the busiest shifts.

I’m very passionate about languages. I’m currently studying to become a professional English and Spanish teacher, and I already have teaching experience through internships in schools. I’m fluent in German, English, Croatian, and Spanish, and I’m happy to teach or practice any of these languages with hosts or other volunteers. I also love learning and would be excited to improve my Spanish even more during my travels.

I bring a wide range of skills, both practical and interpersonal, and I’m always ready to learn something new. I’m a very hardworking person and never too proud for any task — whether it’s cleaning, physical work, helping in the kitchen, customer service, or supporting a team however needed. I enjoy working efficiently, staying organized, and getting things done with a positive attitude.

Languages & Communication
As a polyglot fluent in German, English, Croatian, and Spanish, I love teaching, translating, and supporting language exchange. I study English and Spanish to become a teacher, so I feel very comfortable explaining things, helping others learn, and creating a friendly environment for communication.

Hospitality & Customer Service
I have strong experience working with people in fast-paced environments:
Bartender in one of Vienna’s top nightclubs
Cashier for two years at Hofer (Aldi in Austria)
Room Service team member at a luxury 5-star hotel in Vienna

These jobs taught me teamwork, reliability, speed, attention to detail, and how to stay calm and friendly under pressure.

Business, Office & Computer Skills
I completed my A-levels at a commercial high school with a focus on International Business (Handelsakademie). Before university, I worked for a year as a Customer Service Assistant at an international pharmaceutical company. I’m computer literate (Word, Excel, email management, basic admin skills) and comfortable with office tasks, communication, and organization.

General Practical Skills
I genuinely enjoy helping with physical tasks — cleaning, organizing, carrying, setting up, gardening, or anything that requires hands-on support. I’m fast, dependable, and not afraid of hard work. I actually like contributing in a practical and meaningful way.

I have a valid driver’s licence, no dietary restrictions, and no allergies — I eat everything and enjoy trying local food. I’m also a non-smoker. I’m a huge animal lover and always happy to spend time with pets. In my free time, I enjoy music, writing lyrics and poems, going for long walks, being in nature, and connecting with new people from around the world.
