Hosting Ania and Sasha was truly a beautiful experience for us. They are such a lovely couple, very easygoing, calm and grounded. From the very beginning they integrated naturally into the rhythm of the place, bringing a quiet but strong presence. Sasha did an incredible amount of physical work while he was here, at one point cutting down many trees by hand with an axe, which honestly says a lot about his determination and work ethic. Both of them are very autonomous and reliable. Once a task is explained, they just take it and move forward with care and attention, without needing to be followed. But beyond the work, what we appreciated the most was who they are as people. We shared many conversations, simple moments, and also Christmas together, which made everything even more special. There is something very genuine and kind in the way they relate to others. We are really grateful for the time we shared and for everything they brought here. We truly hope our paths will cross again one day 🌿

I loved having Clara in my home. She is active alive and attentive person. She would ask me every day if she could help out with anything and took also self initiative according my needs. We had wonderful conversations about life, she has a deep sensitivity and wisdom. Someone to learn from. Her vibe always felt positive and uplifting. I loved that.

My time here was wonderful! Very comfortable, creative and inspiring. Carlo and Selene are so generous and lovely. The accommodation was bright, spacious and cosy. Sunbathing whilst working creatively and collaboratively with snacks and drinks out on the balcony - you can’t beat that! I hope to return one day for sure. Thank you!

What a fantastic experience with such a generous host. Even when the rain came we found nice things to do inside. The accommodation is so comfortable for outdoor living. A very impressive place with self-sufficient systems Alberto has skilfully built. He cooked amazing food and introduced me to some fantastic friends in the area. It was really an above and beyond experience and warmed my soul. 100% recommend!

We absolutely loved having Alice and Julien with us on the finca. Their joyful presence brought such a beautiful energy to the place. They worked with real passion and care, tending to the garden and connecting so naturally with the kids. Everything they did carried a sense of love and attention that you can’t teach. They’re full of life force and bubbly energy, always in the flow and somehow lifting everyone around them into that same current. Truly some of the most buena onda people you’ll come across on Workaway 🌞

Words can’t describe the luck we had that Maor had time to spend two weeks with us. It’s incredible how much it feels like family after only two weeks. The moment we picked you up from the train station it felt like picking up a long known friend. There were so many things that aligned and even before meeting you we were so excited (specially Emma) to host somebody who is Jewish and vegan. From the first moment on it felt so normal and comfortable having you around. I think our only critique is that you left jkkkk! 😂🙈 Maor woke up with us in the morning and helped make breakfast for the kids, even brought them to school when we were not available. He was always around helping to clean the kitchen, the living room, he cooked and baked delicious vegan food for all of us, he also baked with the kids, he really connected with the kids especially playing daily sword fights with Adi. He went with us to IKEA and had great ideas how we can use the very limited space of our kitchen best. I will never forget the day when Maor wanted to build down a bunk bed and build it up again in a different room and cut a huge hedge in the back yard. I thought that’s work for at least three days but Maor proved me wrong. He finished it all in one day. Also it was very fun to cut the hedge together with him. After I was exhausted from all the work he went on and even made dinner for everybody. So he’s a super person! He was always open to help where help was needed and we didn’t even have to ask him, he just saw it and did it and integrated so well in our daily life. Also we had great conversations about veganism, religion, spirituality , culture and many more topics. Despite all the productivity, Maor still brought a calm, relaxed, fun energy that left a big impact on our family. We miss you already now one day after you left. Please know that you’ll always have a home here and are welcome to come back any time you want and stay for as long as you want. Ana: He’s the type of person you feel is a part of your family and just fits. Our humor, engaging with the kids, and views on positivity all aligned so well. We had great talks on the world and acceptance. He feels like a breath of fresh air to be around, and I loved discovering vegan spots with him and sharing my favorites. And the kids are already asking when he’ll come back (including Jojo who is being attacked extra from the kids right now due to missing him already). Thank you for everything You are such a kind hearted and wonderful person ❤️

I had a really nice stay with Erasmo for 5 days. The work was varied, interesting, and never too hard. We worked around 4 hours per day, and I had the rest of the time free to relax, explore, or enjoy the peaceful surroundings. I especially enjoyed learning about woodwork and making my own olive wood spoon, which was a great experience. Erasmo is a very kind, helpful, and generous host. He communicates well and always makes sure everything is clear and comfortable. Even though I was the only workawayer during my stay, I felt very welcome and had a good cultural exchange. The place is beautiful and quiet, perfect for disconnecting and enjoying nature. His two dogs are also very friendly and nice companions. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend staying with Erasmo to anyone looking for a simple, authentic, and enriching Workaway.

We absolutely loved our time here and was one of our highlights during our year in Australia. We couldn’t have ended the trip in a better place. The whole family (and Kylie of course) was so kind and welcoming - we very quickly felt we were in a home away from home. They are such inspiring people - we took away many skills and learnt so much in the month that we were there. We loved having the chance to help out with so many aspects of self-sufficient organic farming and hope one day we put some of them into practice ourselves. The arrangement was very fair especially as the food was amazing and we enjoyed being round all the animals so much. Sleepy Hollow was a beautiful location, we managed to get to some incredible beaches and walks while we were there and even saw the southern lights. They have supported us so much and we are so grateful for all the help they gave us. We would love to return but in the meantime hoping to remain in contact. Thank you so much for having us!

This was truly the most incredible and unforgettable experience, set against the backdrop of an absolutely breathtaking location that felt like a hidden paradise. Beyond the scenery, what made this stay so special was Isa. She is a remarkably wonderful person who radiates endless generosity, openness, and a genuine sense of joy that is completely infectious. If you ever find yourself with the opportunity to visit or volunteer at Kalkhorst, consider yourself one of the lucky ones, it is a rare and transformative place to be. During my time there, I wasn't just completing tasks; I was building deep, meaningful connections. I walked away with lifelong friends while working side by side on various projects, and I am already counting down the days until I can visit them again.

We spent four beautiful months with Suzanne. She became not just our host, but truly part of our family. Leaving was very emotional for me — I even cried. Suzanne is a warm, kind, and genuine person, and we always felt welcome with her. Communication about the work was open, honest, and fair. The land is absolutely stunning, like a little paradise. We will always remember this time with gratitude and joy, and we wholeheartedly recommend this experience to kind-hearted people.

We stayed at Özge's for about 12 days in march '26. We spend most of our time with her father, who is a very handy and very kind man. They always made sure we were comfortable and well supplied with food. During our stay the weather was kinda cold and they supplied us with heavy blankets and an electric heater, so our nights were warm. The bathroom was separated from the house so it was a little inconvenient for us, but we know they're planning on improving the volunteers accommodation, so this won't last long. Also, in summer time this wouldn't be an issue. Our work included renovating a metal fence (sand paper and paint) and painting some disinfectant on their trees. Our work schedule was very flexible and we were usually given precise instructions but then we were independent during our working hours, which was perfect for us. We recommend this place to travelers and we hope to come back!

When Bea offers to help, make sure to grab your phone and answer as soon as possible, because she’s such a blessing! With her hands on mentality, no task is too much. She goes above and beyond and only stops when the work is done. Apart from her work ethic, she’s an interested person, clean, on time, reliable, trusted, easy to have around and an, drumroll please, AMAZING cook! So, yes, absolutely, 10000000% recommended!

it has been one of the most rewarding Workaway experiences I’ve ever had. Working side by side with Richard has been an absolute pleasure, and the exchange of knowledge has been truly invaluable. I would love to have the opportunity to do it again. Thank you so much, Richard.

Teacher Goh and her students made my time in Malacca truly unforgettable. It’s been a while since I was there, but every time I think about it, it still makes me feel happy and warm. She is always so kind and thoughtful. Even with a busy schedule, she made sure everything was well taken care of. We chatted like friends and explored the beautiful spots in Malacca together. The kids at the school were lovely. I especially remember helping them with their homework—sometimes their little mistakes would make me laugh so much. When I was leaving, they even prepared a farewell for me and danced on that day. They brought me so much joy and also really touched my heart. I’m really looking forward to going back to Teacher Goh’s home and seeing her and the kids again :)

I spent two months with this wonderful family through Workaway, and since it was my first experience, it was truly special. The place is magnificent, surrounded by Norwegian nature, perfect for anyone who loves peace and breathtaking landscapes. I had the chance to do many different activities, which made every day interesting and engaging. The family was super welcoming, kind, and helpful from the very beginning, making me feel at home. The children are lovely and well-mannered, and it was a pleasure spending time with them. I felt really, really good during my stay and I will carry beautiful memories of this experience with me. Thank you so much for everything!

Hi Yogendra’s family, Together with a friend of mine, Anna, whom I actually met for the first time at Rome airport, I spent around ten days at Yogendra and Anita's home. This experience filled my heart with joy, love, and curiosity. Spending part of our trip with the family enriched us, as we became closer to Nepali culture, lifestyle, and habits. We had dinners together and walked through the markets with Anita and Yogendra, surrounded by the first lights of the day. We always felt welcomed. Thank you very much to Yogendra, Anita, Aria, Ayshree, and the little dog Sinjo. Bhaktapur is a lovely city, very old and well preserved, mainly after the huge effort the population put to rebuild the city after the earthquake. It is way more authentic and relaxing to spend time in this city rather than Kathmandu, which is also very beautiful, but crowded. We volunteered in a small public school. You can see that the children attending classes belong to very poor families. When you enter the school for the first time, a mix of contrasting emotions overcomes you. There are different schools in which you can volunteer. This school had no more than two volunteers in the past, as the teachers told us. This was evident after seeing the excitement and curiosity everyone showed toward us. The teachers are lovely. They wanted to talk with us a lot. One of them invited us to celebrate her daughter’s birthday. We spent the entire day with them and slept at her place in Changunarayan. The children hardly speak English. It is difficult to communicate and teach them. Also, although the teachers were lovely, they often left us alone during class time. In that case, it was much harder to teach, considering the language barrier between us. This doesn’t mean we felt uncomfortable, but I had some concerns about the children’s learning process. As I said before, having volunteers at the school was something new for the teachers, and I am sure they will get used to it and learn how to collaborate with volunteers. Thank you again for welcoming us as a part of your family. See you soon! Lorenzo and Anna
