I had a great time at Atzeneta and can highly recommend this place! Accommodation: I stayed in a spacious camper that was very comfortable. For breakfast there was always muesli, fruit, and the option to make homemade coffee or tea – perfect for starting the day! Work: My main task was sawing wood. The work was varied and well-organized, and I learned a lot. Host Characteristics: Kim is a fair and helpful host. He gives valuable advice and ensures that you feel comfortable. The meals were very diverse, and I especially enjoyed that he made sandwiches on my days off. Overall, it was a rewarding experience, and I look forward to possibly returning one day!

We'll try to keep this short since everything we felt for the family we've shared with them in person and in a letter when we left. They say that the beginnings are always hard, but this family made us feel welcome from the first moment. WARNING: in case you join them - be prepared to get a second family! We stayed with them for about a month and during this time we had a wonderful experience. We had the opportunity to get to know six extremely adorable kids, and we shared so much fun and so many games with them. Other than spending time with the kids and the family, we mostly helped with household chores (washing dishes, cleaning a bit, drying clothes). The workload was not at all tiring, we had plenty of time for ourselves. In the free time, they created many programs for us, like going to a swimming place, making a campfire outside and having lunch there, sharing meals with the neighbours, having pancakes with gandpa, learning how to make pulla or meeting Mikko’s mother in Oulu. During our stay we organized a christmas themed kids’ event with creative tasks, we met Santa Claus, and on the last days even saw the northern lights!! We cannot express our gratitude enough for them, all of the deep talks about life and their religion definitely stuck with us for our whole life. We never have a day going by without thinking about Amos’s smirks and smiles, the way Eetu stole our hearts in minutes, Ella’s strong facial expressions, Alma saying ‘kuti-kuti’, spinning around with Aapo in our arms and Eva’s maturity, creativity and feeling like her big sisters. No niin.. we couldn’t keep it short in the end, but if you got this far you can see the reason for that. We 10000% recommend visiting them and gaining a new family in Finland! Thank you Raisa and Mikko for inviting us to your home and trusting us from the first moment!

Seven years ago we had our last workaway experience, but this place exceeded all our expectations and memories. So much that we even considered staying forever, but we decided to continue our travels through Europe. But if we miss this place too much we will definitely come back! We both got to do what we love most: Daniël helped mostly with construction and gardening, Rivka mostly with cooking and the kids. Our initiative and expertise were highly appreciated. Daniël was free to work on woodwork projects of his choice, like building a roof for the outside shower. Rivka could work on her vegan and gluten free cooking skills for 6 to 13 people, share her teacher skills and organise activities for the kids. This workaway experience has been the highlight of our trip so far! Saying goodbye was hard, we hope to see them again!

I volunteered for one month at the school in El Kelaa des Sraghna:) I taught Italian, which I loved so much. The students were just amazing, and over time we became good friends. The school is a warm place and truly feels like home. The coordinators are genuinely kind, supportive, and very good people, always available when needed. The working hours are minimal, so it’s important to consider that you’ll have plenty of free time. The city is very quiet and not very lively, which may feel slow for some people but can be suitable if you’re looking for rest. The accommodation is basic, and we suggested some improvements. Since the location is close to Marrakesh and well connected, traveling there is easy and makes it possible to balance the quiet environment with more dynamic experiences. Overall, it’s been a positive experience, and I will miss these beautiful people!

We took care of Gaby's home for about two weeks over Christmas and new year while he was traveling. His place is a real oasis in the busy-ness of Southern Spain: a beautiful lush garden (we harvested Avocados for the first time which was such a treat!) and unique houses, that look like straight out of a fairy tale. Very inspiring for anyone interested in art and interior design. We especially enjoyed our time with the animals! It was our first time taking care of chickens and we found out we really like it :) Maggie is just the cutest cat in the world and Tinka the dog is so funny and sweet! We are grateful for the experience. All the best to you, Gaby!

This was my first Workaway experience, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything better. the whole experience was absolutely beautiful. I stayed at Anita and Josue’s home while they were away taking care of their wonderful dog Ringo, and from the very beginning, I felt trusted, respected, and genuinely welcomed. Ringo became very special to me and spending time with him was one of the highlights of my stay. Taking care of him never felt like a task but rather a joy, and I truly grew attached to him. Anita and Josue themselves are incredibly kind, thoughtful, and caring. They regularly checked in on me, always making sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. they brought me groceries, paid attention to every small detail, and made me feel at home in every possible way. Their house is perfectly clean, well organized, and very pleasant to live in, which made the experience even more comfortable. I felt very lucky to be trusted with their home and Ringo. Overall, this was a perfectly positive and heartwarming experience I have had as a Workawayer. The genuine kindness of this couple went far beyond expectations and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a respectful, caring, and truly enriching experience.

Perfect balance of comfort, structure, and community I stayed here for a full week—starting as a regular guest and then transitioning into the hybrid volunteer setup—and it was one of the smoothest, most comfortable stays I’ve had while traveling. The space & sleep: The property is very clean, well organized, and thoughtfully run. Everything has a clear structure, which immediately puts you at ease. The room was quiet, comfortable, and consistently the right temperature for sleeping. If you care about rest, this place really delivers—no constant noise, no barking dogs, just calm. I felt comfortable settling in and actually relaxing. The hybrid / volunteer setup: For anyone considering the volunteer option, this is a big green flag. The work expectations and hours are clearly defined, reasonable, and respected. In exchange, you get a solid room at a very fair rate. It feels professional but relaxed—no awkward guesswork, no blurred lines, just a mutually respectful arrangement. Vibe & location: The location couldn’t be better—just a very short walk to the beach. The atmosphere is social without being chaotic. There’s a great mix of travelers, volunteers, and friends of the host, which makes it easy to connect while still having space to do your own thing. I spent my days working, listening to music, enjoying the pool, and unwinding. People & food: Oswaldo clearly cares about the place and the experience people have here. The operation is thoughtful and well run. Freuland, who works here, is fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely makes you feel at home from day one. The food was consistently tasty and added a lot to the overall experience. Bottom line: Whether you’re a traveler looking for a clean, quiet, comfortable stay near the beach, a digital nomad who needs good sleep and structure, or a volunteer looking for a fair and clearly organized setup, this place hits all the marks.

Very late feedback I'm sorry as I completely forgot to do one ! I stayed for 1 month in March 2025 and had a really great time ! Special message for Ukku ! Best guy ever ! Work was really chill. Mostly reception with a clear schedule and lot of free time. We where a good group of volunteer working, managing activities etc with 1 manager and the owner. Place is really nice if you want to learn surf or diving. Easy access to Galle by bus or further south. I recommend !

They were a wonderful host family. They cooked delicious seafood and showed us around the museum. Their children, Moon and Gau, are very sweet, playful, and always love to play. They are also very intelligent and loving. Vi, his wife is a very kind and wonderful woman, and her husband, Vung, is knowledgeable. They all love to talk, sociable, kind, and honest. Her mother, who showed us around Vung Tau with her car, was very hospitable and helpful. Her cat, who is very cute and big, is very fat. They are very hardworking and spend time with their family. We used to read books with the children in the evening and play with them to guess which color or which hand is on the right or left. They like to play guessing games. They also listened carefully when I read books. I am very grateful to my host family for creating wonderful memories. Thank you

Our experience with Mark was a great time. You have your independece, with your own space, you have your time to enjoy the sorroundings and just hang out in the area (there are lots of thinks you can do). The tasks are very light and the house has a very chill mood. Mark was available almost all the time and was always willing to help us with whatever was needed. We wish you all the best.

We have been blessed with some excellent Workaways over the last few years, but Derek and Bobbi were exceptional. They arrived at late notice and took on board the handover from another Workaway to housesit the property in SW France. Derek and Bobbi are great, natural communicators and regular video calls with them quickly showed us that our home was not just in safe hands but was being cared for by a hard working, experienced and enterprising couple who took their own initiative and just got things done. Their practical skills were so well matched to managing our land and we were incredibly grateful that they were there to cope with logging wood, autumn leave challenges, a temperamental pool pump - the list could go on! Our only regret is that we were not in France to work alongside them but we are hoping to have them visit again later this year when we can do exactly that. In the meantime, I cannot recommend Derek and Bobbi highly enough - a perfect Workaway couple.

I stayed around two months at this place and it’s been such an incredible experience. I was tought about how to care for horses, chickens, and dogs. I got to be with the animals and care for them, I was able to ride the horses and do ground work with them. I also learned about growing vegetables and take care of plants with a very sweet gardner, who loves to spread his knowledge! The food and accomodation is also great, your own room with bathroom and a beautiful view on the farm! Fresh vegetables from the garden and always healthy fresh meals. Dinners in good company and stimulating conversations with Frédérique and Ronald and the other workaways have been the highlight of the journey! I learned so much about sustainability and the importance of being aware about what you eat and where it comes from. The people made it an even better experience and I’m very grateful for the relationships that I made there. I will always have in my heart the animals, the sweetest horses that had so much patience with me and the amazing dogs that i got to know more and more, the two beautiful cats that couldn’t be more different from one another. I witnessed baby chickens being born and how nature can effect you. How important is to check on yourself and taking your place (thank you Frédérique). The beautiful walks in the forests and the quiet countryside with amazing views of the sunset will forever stay with me. I’m very grateful for this experience and all the lessons that came with it. A big thank you to Frédérique and Ronald and to Sissi, Amie, Holly, Finn, to the horses and all the chickens and ducks.

Staying with Paul was a truly special experience. He is incredibly welcoming, generous, and kind, and his place in the mountains is absolutely magical. It was a pleasure helping on the farm, spending time with the animals, and sharing stories together. I’m very grateful for this time and would highly recommend staying with him.

I had a great time helping out Ryan and his family. They were very generous and was great to be included in some family celebrations! Was doing some general maintenance around the property, fixing fences, cleaning, greeting guests etc. Location is quite remote, but worth it for such a beautiful location. And yes the pool is legit and great for cooling down.

Sathyavathi, the most energetic volunteer we've ever hosted. It was why all the both children and their moms love her when communicating with her. Let me express my billions thanks to you for your help for a full month of December. Sathya makes the training place, front yard and the hall tens children with full of happiness following her instruction to move and talk. There are 2 groups of children and one group of their moms (also learn to speak). This kind of technique (speak and act) rarely happens in their real class at school so all the children feel closed to her, moreover my 3 grand daughters feel the same, even more. Before class she used to make preparation of teaching medium, arranging the learning venue and informed it to me. In her daily activities out of the teaching, Sila 4, Jena 6, and Aira 10 yo feel like her nieces. The youngest was spoiled to her. Basically all my family members, my wife Nuning, my daughter, Vet Ama and the petfood-shop workers can learn and discuss with Sathya happily while dining, relaxing at home. Sathya has a high social skill so she found new friends and had activities such as mount climbing, cycling, visiting interesting places around. They are able to practice their English directly. We also let Sathya to come and teach the kindergarten and what happens there was really amazing. The teacher made a very attractive short video clips and I believe that everyone will be surprised to watch it. Alhamdulillah we could provide the menu of vegetarian though maybe not optimally done. So sorry if so, Sathya. It is as my good experience to improve in servicing other vegetarians like you. Though Sathya said that she rarely sing songs, but when I forced her to sing, she did better and better. What I taught to make fried rice, hopefully can be practiced in India. The brownies you made was really tasteful. Finally your existence in my place really made us, children and their mom feel satisfied. Anyone who wants to host Sathya as a volunteer should not be doubted to have her work in your place. Please send my warm regards to your Dad and Mom. Till we meet again some day. We all miss you. Again thank you so much, Sathya.
