I stayed with Jenny and Mauricio in September 2025, and as it was my first time coming to Peru, I can honestly say it was a wonderful start to my trip. They are a lovely family with great taste and an exceptional home right in front of the ocean. During my stay, I had the chance to get to know some delicious Peruvian dishes at their home, and their daughter was the sweetest companion. Their office is very close to the house, which made the daily routine easy and in general they were pretty flexible.I found their work extremely interesting and important, especially as a way to connect with local artisans and better understand how culturally rooted traditional craft, ownership, and collaboration with artisan associations function in practice. Pacasmayo itself is a charming coastal town, perfect for people who enjoy water sports or quiet time by the sea. I would say it is less suited for those looking for nightlife or a strong backpacker scene. Overall, I am very grateful for the experience and would highly recommend staying with Jenny and Mauricio to anyone interested in meaningful cultural exchange, craftsmanship, and a peaceful coastal setting.

Pyry came kind of last minute and spontanious to us, since he needed to fill some days inbetween his next host. I also just had no one at that moment and needed help. Mostly with household, but I could also need some help with the wood. So Pyry helped me with the wood mostly. I was waiting for a girl to arrive in the middle of January to help me with household and as she came they both were able to help me togheter with my sister around some fencing / wood-work I had to do just at that moment. Pyry is a nice, tidy, calm person. He is always willing to help and does a good job. Since it was very cold I was worried, it could be too cold for him. But it seems, that he was used to worse since he's from Finland.

I spent an excellent 10 day stay with this family. Mapi and Javier welcome you as if you were part of their family. Their daughters are also adorable, very intelligent, and funny, it was a real pleasure to take care of them. The location is ideal, very close to the city center, and the house is very pleasant to live in. You also have plenty of free time, allowing you to go about your own activities when you are not taking care of the girls. I highly recommend this family and am extremely grateful to have stayed with them.

Best Day Ever! That is the battle cry of Nico. Actually it is the most versatile cry ever. You see what I mean???? Nico is full of energy, has a great sense of humor (except his strong belief that all seemingly white people are "gringos"..... But we love him anyway), and is a wonderful community member. We truly appreciated his chilled attitude to all kinds of last minute tasks that became priorities, his camaraderie, and his facility with power tools, including the tractor. Ah, and he shared his Maté, as well he should! We hope he keeps in touch and comes back to visit. The door is always open! Best Nico EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having Vince as a volunteer was amazing. Super helpful, attentive to detail, and a hard worker. Always eager to learn and grow, and he helped us take our first steps in agroforestry. On top of that, he’s just a great human, involved, independent, smart, and always up for good conversations. Thanks so much, Vince. Come back anytime!

I had the best time at Feamcesca's. The work was enjoyable and well explained. The rooms were very generous, I even got my own bathroom and kitchen. She was extremely accommodating to my health needs. She let me stay longer than I originally intended. Her mother is a delightful person and her son, Stefano is a great guy. The rest of her family are so friendly and kind too. The property is so serene and Bianca, her dog is very cute. Her place is a paradise. Thank you Francesca for affording me such a lovely stay. I wish you the best.

I stayed 2 weeks in January. Nana is a good host who made me feel welcome despite being busy with many things. There was always a bit of chaos and you need some independence to get around. Overall a good experience and I would've stayed a bit longer if I hadn't made a promise to go to another place.

I enjoyed my stay at Lukes little farm a lot! It is such a peaceful place and yet there is so much to discover! After work I relaxed on the beautiful terrace, observing the nature around me. On my days off I went hiking in the surrounding mountains with stunning views. The work was very fair. I had to do some weeding and wood stacking. In the evenings I enjoyed the conversations with Luke and his friend and found it very interesting to get to know about the life in New Zealand. And his dog Dream is the cutest! I would highly recommend working at Lukes place!

Our woofing experience with Eric and Salla was truly wonderful. The whole family was incredibly kind, welcoming, and caring. Even though they don’t eat starchy foods, we were free to buy and cook our own. Salla was especially thoughtful, always making sure we felt comfortable, bringing us drinks, cooking for us, and letting us take breaks whenever we were tired. Working hours were flexible and based on trust, as long as we completed our 5 hours per day. The work was varied: mowing the lawn, feeding the animals, cleaning, sanding, painting the exterior walls, and gardening (watering, weeding, and learning to use cardboard and wood chips). Daily household tasks were shared naturally. In our free time, we enjoyed walking the dog, going to the lake (a 15-minute walk away), watching films in the living room, using the sauna, and even borrowing their car to go into town. We also loved spending time with the family and playing board games with the children. A huge thank you to the whole family for this great experience. We wish you all the best for the future! We loved having Sophy with us! She is absolutely a 10/10. She’s flexible, open to new things, friendly, and so loving. Even though the heavy snow meant there was not as much work to do as normal, she still helped where she could, and adapted to all the changes. Thanks Sophy we’re really looking forward to see you again!

BEST FARM EVER!!! This was my first experience with Workaway, and I couldn't have chosen a better place! I had one of the best times in years with Gabi and Helen. Gabi is a person of infinite knowledge, with whom you can talk about any topic (any) with tremendous wisdom and an incredible sense of humour. Helen gives you all the energy in the world while feeding you her incredible jams. I will definitely return to this incredible place!! See you gringos!

Staying here was truly magical and it became a place I would return to any time I’m in Tasmania. I was lucky enough to come back once and take part in not just one, but two retreats. Kristina and Laurie are incredibly warm and caring hosts. From the very beginning, I felt genuinely welcomed and appreciated and when I returned for the second retreat, their joy about having me back meant so much to me. Because I am a professional chef, we decided that my main role during the retreats would be cooking, and I loved this opportunity. Alongside that, there were some general retreat preparations, such as some gardening work, preparing and cleaning the yoga space and making sure everything looked welcoming and beautiful before the guests arrived. As a chef, it was a joy to work with fresh vegetables from their own garden and to bring my own creative ideas into the menu. The workload always felt fair, and there was always support. Even with my kitchen responsibilities, Kristina made sure I could participate in the retreat as often as possible, encouraging me to join yoga sessions and reminding me that being part of the retreat experience mattered. Cooking for the retreats felt especially meaningful to me because I normally work behind the scenes and rarely receive direct feedback. Here, sharing meals with the guests allowed me to experience their immediate, heartfelt appreciation, which reminded me why I love cooking. I am very grateful for this experience and for having met Kristina and Laurie (and Pia!). People I would recommend from the bottom of my heart.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lyn’s place! She taught me all about her garden and was super encouraging and patient with me. Her house is in such a nice part of the world and it was great spending time outdoors there. It was lovely meeting all the other travellers that were staying at Lyn’s home - it really did feel like a home. I also loved looking after Lyn’s dog Dottie and taking her for walks… she’s so cute!! Lyn was great company and she had lots of interesting stories to tell. I think she’s a pretty inspiring woman. I couldn’t have asked for a better host for my first Workaway experience : )

Our experience in the Tuscia area with Giuseppe and Valentina was simply wonderful. From the very first day, we felt welcomed as part of the family, in a calm, respectful atmosphere full of warmth and humanity. Giuseppe and Valentina are genuine, kind, and thoughtful people, always open to dialogue and committed to creating a healthy balance between work and free time. A special mention goes to Sole and Alma: two beautiful, bright, and affectionate girls who fill the house with positive energy and smiles. Being around them made every day lighter and more joyful. The Tuscia itself completes the experience, with its stunning nature, slow rhythms, and an ideal setting for anyone looking for an authentic experience, deeply connected to the land and to people. We wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone who is not just looking to do Workaway, but to truly live a meaningful human exchange. We will carry this family with us as a precious memory 💛

Claudia and Michele are amazing, wonderful, and lovely people. We loved every single day we spent with them. This place is paradise. We are so grateful to have had the chance to meet such extraordinary people. Michele also speaks Italian, so it was very easy to chat. Claudia is a strong, beautiful, and profound woman, with whom I had deep and enjoyable conversations. It was wonderful to spend time outdoors and take care of this place. I had the chance to ride one of their bikes and see the surroundings. They live not far from the Danube, and we spent a wonderful afternoon together on the river. Our son had a blast. He always says he wants to go back and play there!
