My husband is Spanish and I am from the UK, We met in Glasgow, Scotland where I am from. We lived together there for 5 years. We moved to Spain in March 2025. We are recently separated and I would love to stay in Spain!

I have absolutely enjoyed my time here and I appreciate the culture so much more than my own country! I would love to learn more and I need help with learning to speak Spanish. I haven't made much progress on my own!

So now I must figure out my next steps towards independence from my husband which involves finding a job and a place to live. I have very little in the way of savings and since my Spanish is still very little then this means that my ideal solution is to find a job that also includes accommodation. I would love to find somewhere cosy with a Spanish family who also speak English.

The type of home that would be ideal for me is with young children as I have 20 years experience working in childcare, mostly young children in nurseries and nanny work. I have also worked with older children too and right now I am helping my neighbour to teach her children English. So a language swap in exchange for English lessons for older children is also something that would benefit us both.

I am happy to cook or clean. I am also interested in Pet Sitting, or working with Animals, Caring for the elderly, Language Swap, Community living, learning to sail, and learning to farm (although I don't have any experience with that). I am happy to learn how to do anything new if you have the time and motivation to teach me.

Previous to moving to Spain I worked for 20 years in childcare. I worked in nurseries for over 10 years and the remaining years were spent working as a nanny privately in other peoples homes. I can help around the house with cleaning or cooking too.
