    Description

We are Kevin and Marie and 8 months ago we moved out of town to our own little rural slice of paradise, up the beautiful Matarawa Valley Rd. I like to cook, we love to host family and friends. Kevin is a hunter and we enjoy eating from the bbq most evenings in the summer months. We have adult children and grandchildren who are a big part of our lives. We also have two small dogs who think they own us. I really enjoy gardening, and until recently completed most projects myself until an injury has reduced the amount I can achieve. My daughter is currently touring the world undertaking various jobs and staying with workaway hosts and having the most amazing experience. I would like to off our hospitality and give back by offering our home to you, so you have the opportunities to experience family life in rural New Zealand (rural being 15 minutes to town). And with this experience help us to establish a vegetable garden from scratch and maintain some of the overgrown gardens we have inherited.

I enjoy walking and camping and have some great spots that we camp at that we would love to share. We are a close family and our adult children are very much part of our lives and would be included in your experience. I am a keen cook and we have lots of bbq in the summer, sitting outside in our beautiful home, I would like to share some kiwi hospitality. I have a passion for creative arts and have a wide range of knowledge that I can share. Kevin has spent years on farms and is a keen DIY man. We are both willing to
Share as much knowledge as we can. I am absolutely hopeless with languages but Kevin is a quick learner. I’m saying this I’ve managed to travel in France, Italy, Greece and Spain and make myself understood. I would really enjoying hosting to learn about other cultures normal day to day life which I find fascinating,

We really want to become self sufficient and would like help with establishing gardens, some heavy work will be required, like lifting pieces of concrete and making paths, digging and weeding. I will be working alongside of anyone who wants to join me. I have had previous successful gardens and have plans as to what I want to achieve with help. I am also open to learning new skills.
