    Description

I'm a Spanish retired man who recently bought a house in a very interesting and beautiful area. The house is a three bedroom one in a 4000 m² piece of land. The closest villages, Gardonne et Saint Avit-Saint Nazaire, are 5 km away, the Dordogna river about 1 km.

I speak currently English, French and Italian. My mother tongue is Spanish. I become ELE teacher some years ago since I volunteered teaching Spanish to newcomers when in Spain

I have some projects in my mind, so extra help is always a welcome relief. The type of help would be with tending a new vegetable garden, weeding, gardening, DIY and entertaining projects (light painting, sanding...) moving some stuff, cleaning...Better if you can drive a hand gear car but not really important

It's recommended to have your own car or motorbike. I can provide a bike.

There is a train station in Gardonne, 5km from home. I could drive you there if you want to get a train

I'm willing to accept pets if they are friendly, but they will be not allowed in the house, only out doors

If you want the night life, possibly this is not for you unless you have a car or motorbike. Bergerac is 15 km away.
If you want the quiet life and listen to the birds singing, walks in the country and good views then this may be the ideal place

I'm a sociable person and actively encourage conversation and cultural exchange especially at meal times as this this is as equally important to the meal as the food. I love to cook. Willing to learn new recipes. We can cook together

You will be responsible for keeping your living area clean and tidy especially before leaving.

We'll try to keep clean and tidy the common areas.

I'm very flexible about helping hours, we'll chat about the schedule

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Nice area next to the Dordogna river (10 minutes on foot) where you can fish (according to the law in force).

Interesting places around: Bergerac, Issigeac, Eymet, ... markets, brocantes, really good restaurants,

Neighbourhood about 4/5 kilometers from shops, bars .... better to have a car, motor bike,.. I can provide a bike and the area is flat. I can drive you to the Gardonne raíl station ( 5 km) which in the railroad joining Bordeaux and Bergerac and other interesting places as Sarlat,...

I can teach you Spanish (I'm an ELE teacher), English and French to beginners.

Probably learn together about tending a vegetable garden.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You'll get a bedroom in the house toilet and bathroom for your personal use.
    Bedding and towels provided.

Your private area is upstairs. My room and the common area are downstairs.

There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. One on the bedrooms has a 140 cm bed and a wardrobe closet, the other 90 cm bunk beds, a desk and a wardrobe closet, so I can host a solo traveller, a couple or even more people including families

It's the Workawayers' responsability to keep this area clean and tidy. Very important to leave the area as you found it when the WA experience is over.

In return for five hours help per day, five days a week, I'll provide accommodation and you can share my food, usually healthy and tasty food that we'll cook together or in different days. I'll provide the ingredients for your recipes.Weekends are off, you can stay at home if you want even though probably you'll have to cook and provide for yourself.

If you prefer to cook for your I'll provide food . You will prepare a shopping list (according to a reasonable budget) and I will get it for you. We can go shopping together If you prefer we can decide an allowance and you'll provide for yourself.

If you prefer, you can help 15 hours per week and you'll get accommodation and access to the kitchen. You'll decide if you want to help three or four days per week and take the rest of the days off.
