    Description

A 45 acre historic estate in Crawford Bay on the Eastshore of Kootenay Lake, an hour from Nelson or Creston, which has an organic vegetable and flower gardens, ponds, hiking trails and abundant wildlife, surrounded by mountains.

I am happy to share my knowledge and skills, and will try to find projects that suit your interests as we work on the large lawns, vegetable and flower gardens. I live close to Kootenay Lake, near a sandy beach and a good fishing spot. There are hiking trails, a waterfall, and an artisan community nearby... lots to explore on your time off!

You can get here by bus with a private bus service that runs from Vancouver to Kaslo, and from Calgary to Kaslo once a week. Check out Mountain Mike bus routes and schedules.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I have travelled a lot myself and have volunteered in New Zealand with my family, and have been a volunteer host for 25 years. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to host over a 100 volunteers and it has been a wonderful exchange. I'm new to this platform and hope that you will enjoy your Workaway experience with me - most of my past volunteers stayed many years ago when reviews were not a thing, hence the lack of reviews.
