    Description

    Hi! I'm Sebastián, I'm 34 years old and I'm from Medellín, Colombia. I love cooking, music, traveling, nature, freediving, and mixology. I speak Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

    I lead a creative project called Érase Una Vez Eventos, a company that designs and produces theatrical experiences and celebration events for children and families. We work in private events, shopping malls, and companies. We have a core team of 8 people working full-time from our warehouse-office space, and over 50 young artists — including dancers, actors, entertainers, and more — who join us on weekends to bring joy to different events around the city.

    We’re also a platform for young people who are studying and want to explore their creative and artistic potential while earning some extra income. Through our work, we try to connect families and bring more culture and joy into the city of Medellín.

    Now, We are looking for volunteers who want to join and support different aspects of our project. I offer a private room in my apartment in Itagüí, very close to Envigado metro station, plus meals and the chance to connect with local people and artists.

    We ask for help 5 days a week, 4 hours per day, either during weekdays or weekends, depending on your skills and availability. Some areas where we’d love to receive help include:

    * Photography and video creation
    * Social media management
    * Leading creative workshops for our team (e.g. art, yoga, wellness, acting, etc.)
    * Cleaning and maintenance of our office/warehouse space
    *Help with food and catering for events
    *Electrical or basic repair skills
    *Improving our shows (dancing, acting, music, etc.)

    In return, you’ll be part of a creative and warm community, experience the real life of Medellín, and have the opportunity to learn how we organize unforgettable events.

    If you're a creative soul and want to make a positive impact while living in Colombia, we’d love to hear from you!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Volunteers will connect with young creatives, children, and local families through our events and daily activities. It’s a great way to experience Medellín from a local perspective, outside tourist areas.

    You’ll learn about event production, teamwork, and creative collaboration, while improving your Spanish and discovering how locals live, work, and celebrate. This is a chance to share skills, stories, and build real human connections in an authentic, welcoming environment.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    You’ll be staying in a cozy and fully equipped apartment located in Simón Bolívar neighborhood, Itagüí, just a short walk from Envigado metro station and well connected to all public transport routes. It’s a vibrant and authentic local neighborhood — not touristy like El Poblado or Laureles — which gives you the opportunity to experience real Colombian life surrounded by friendly locals.

    The apartment has two bedrooms and a studio, with high-speed internet, washing machine, television, and all kitchen essentials. You’ll have your own private bathroom and a comfortable bedroom with a balcony, a desk to work, and plenty of natural light.

    There’s also a bicycle available that you can use to explore the city or even commute to our office space.

    The area is surrounded by sports facilities like basketball courts, beach volleyball courts, and also close to shopping centers, cinemas, restaurants, and more.

    We can host one person or a couple in the available room. Volunteers are welcome to use all the kitchen supplies freely. We can organize together how to manage meals — breakfasts are each person’s responsibility, but we can coordinate to cook dinners or share meals from time to time.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

    As a volunteer, you’ll be staying in a central location, close to all the main attractions and cultural spots in Medellín. The apartment is well connected by public transportation and located in a safe, local neighborhood, allowing you to explore the city easily and authentically.

    You’ll have access to a bicycle, which you can use to move around the area, go to the office, or enjoy a ride through the city.

    In addition to our main project in the city, we also have a beautiful countryside retreat — our former Workaway project. It's a peaceful mountain house surrounded by nature, with a pool, gardens, and a calm atmosphere. Volunteers may have the opportunity to spend time there during the week to rest, do gardening, connect with nature, or help with occasional projects at the house.

    This adds a unique balance to your stay: living the vibrant energy of Medellín while having the chance to retreat into nature and recharge.
