Description
Hey there! I'm Sebastián, a 32-year-old based in Medellín, Colombia. I'm deeply passionate about cooking, mixology, music, travel, nature, and freediving. I'm also fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
Currently, I'm embarking on an exciting adventure: building a countryside house with the clear goal of reconnecting with my rural origins and our cultural heritage in Girardota, Antioquia. The main aim of this project is to create a rustic retreat offering countryside experiences.
The project unfolds in two key phases. Phase 1 centers on building the house. In Phase 2, we shift our focus to opening the house for sustainable tourism, providing experiences that harmonize with nature and the local community. (We are currently in this phase)

This is born as a blank canvas, and your contributions as volunteers in this initial phase will be especially significant. You will be able to bring your previous experiences and knowledge in permaculture, sustainable tourism and other related areas to co-create innovative and sustainable solutions in the design and construction of the house.
In addition, you will be able to enjoy the beauty of the mountainous landscape and the native forests of the region.

I am looking for passionate volunteers with experience either in permaculture and/or sustainable tourism and/or marketing, who wish to share their knowledge and skills.
I invite you to share your skills to help us develop authentic and engaging countryside experiences for our future guests in the house. In this way I divided the project into 2 essential lines to start developing it:
FARM LINE
Among the specific actions to be carried out are:

• Construction of sustainable structures
In addition, I seek with your support to create various common spaces that promote well-being, connection with nature and personal development. These spaces will provide opportunities for activities that encourage relaxation, spiritual growth, and social interaction. Some examples of common spaces that can be integrated into the project are:

• Rest and Reading Spaces
• Art and Creativity Area
• Garden of Medicinal Plants
• Water landscape with pond or stream
TOURISM LINE AND MARKETING
You can significantly contribute to the development of responsible and environmentally friendly tourism practices. Here are some specific actions:

From a marketing perspective, you can play a valuable role in promoting and positioning both projects. Here are some specific actions that you can take to contribute to the marketing of the project:

Accommodation
The house has 110m2 built and a total area of 5700m2. The house is equipped with a kitchen that has crockery, utensils, pots, gas stove, microwave and refrigerator; 2 bedrooms, one of them with closets, a bathroom with hot water, washing machine and clothing area, parking and common areas. A room with a sofa bed, books, tv and a projector for movies in the garden. In addition, it has a third external room with a private bathroom. The house also has a swimming pool and large green areas.
The volunteers will be assigned a private or shared room with a single or double bed if they come as a couple. The host will also have a construction of a food plan with local products so that the volunteer prepares their dishes independently during the week, that is, there will be no external person to prepare the food, but the cost of the products is assumed by the host. For this you will visit a local market place and have an afternoon to learn about Colombian gastronomy, cook and prepare some recipes for the week.
Likewise, we will have at your disposal a bike to discover the area and probably you can go to the town if you're enthusiastic rider.The house has electricity, propane gas, drinking water and internet service.
What else ...
1. The house is located in the Vereda El Totumo, Municipality of Girardota in the department of Antioquia, with an average temperature of 22°C and at an altitude of 1650 meters above sea level. It is located 45 minutes from the city of Medellín, 30 minutes from the Niquía Metro Station and 10 minutes from the urban center of Girardota.
2. To get here you can do it by public transport from the town and then walk 15 minutes once you get to El Trapiche, also by Taxis or motorcycle taxis. The road is mostly paved and partly paved on a route through a rail system.
3. Daniel is a very important person, he works permanently in the house, who lives in the area and does gardening and maintenance work; He is a very kind person and willing to help you with whatever you need.
4. You can do home shopping in the town's supermarkets, you can also order fast food, as well as local dishes, you can even schedule a motorcycle taxi to pick you up at the door of our place.
5. The places of interest in the area are:
A. Girardota main park: It is the heart of the town and a lively place where the local people gather to socialize. Here you can find the parish church, small shops, restaurants and a square with a cozy atmosphere.
B. Bird Watching.
C. Visits to Coffee Farms or Trapiches (Places where "Panela" is made through the extraction of cane juice).
D. Indigenous petroglyphs in Vereda San Andrés
E. Rivers, Waterfalls and Torrentism in the Vereda San Andrés and El Barro
F. Medellín and all its cultural and tourist offer (Clubs, Bars, Restaurants, Museums, etc.) less than 1 hour away
6. At our place you can enjoy without leaving the place in your free time:
A. Fauna sighting: Flying visitors such as Guacharacas, Barranqueros, Garrapateros, Falcons and countless others that you can observe with our binoculars arrive at our natural refuge. In addition to other residents such as squirrels, armadillos, toads, iguanas, rodents, lizards and many insects such as crickets, spiders, beetles, bees, butterflies, etc.
