Description
Scott is a farmer and originally from the UK, he has been in NZ on and off for 13 years. I came to NZ following the snow as a ski instructor in 2008 and loved it so much I stayed.
Early starts mean we have early nights in the week. We love heading into Methven for coffee, food, quiz nights and live music. We enjoy local hikes and walking trails, summer BBQs and a wine or beer on the veranda in the evenings.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Methven is a lovely community with lots of cafes and restaurants, theres often live music at the weekends.
Its a proper small rural kiwi village with true local hospitality. As a cultural experience you'll notice how friendly and helpful everyone in the community is to each other and our visitors.
There is great hiking and mountain bike trails nearby, as well as some well maintained walking tracks in Methven. Great location to explore this area, easy day trips to Christchurch, Mt Sunday, Geraldine, Timaru and Aokaroa.
We have both travelled NZ extensively for work and as tourists so can help you plan the rest of your time here in NZ.
I recently studied Te Reo Māori and it would be great to share and practice what I've learnt with others.
We often have a Mt Hutt worker stay with us in winter and enjoy learning about other cultures and trying out new foods.
Help
We have a lifestyle property 700m outside of Methven. We both work full time and are really busy this time of year. We would love some help with our garden; mowing, weeding, pruning, hedge trimming etc. We have a number of flower, fruit and vegetable beds and a beautiful lawn to upkeep.
We'd love someone with a green thumb, that can get stuck in without supervision.
There may also be some light house work and cooking too.
Whilst we operate a business at the same location, the help we are after is for our property and the garden that surrounds it.

There is no public transport but happy to give you a ride if feasible when we're heading somewhere like Ashburton or Christchurch etc.
