We are Finca Remedio! We have a 40 acre permaculture farm in the tropical mountains of Utuado Puerto Rico. We are a couple Naldo and Alexa and sometimes other friends are also staying here. The farm is beautiful, its a lush jungle setting with two creeks and a big river with a young fruit forests, small garden, medicinals, perennials and chickens. We are building a four dome superadobe home in which we live. Visitors stay in already established camps (just bring your sleeping bag) We have a fully equipped outdoor communal kitchen, solar power, wifi, running spring water, composting toilet, outdoor shower. Its simple off grid living but really perfect for people who enjoy immersing themselves in nature. We provide mostly organic vegetarian food and welcome cooks. We have 4 big dogs so guests must like dogs. We love music and are 4/20 friendly, we speak spanish and english.

Our farm is great for people wanting to experience sustainable living in the pristine tropical forest. We live in a rural area 10 mins from the town of Utuado. If you want to travel around the island you should rent a car bc public trans is almost non-existent.
Tasks vary there is always a lot to do from taking care of and expanding the food forest, working on the domes, processing harvests, gardening etc. We work 4-5 hours a day 5 week, as a volunteer please make sure you are working min 20hrs a week. We receive guests max 8 days. We can pick up from supermercado Pueblo in Arecibo, there's a linea sultana bus line that goes from San juan to Mayaguez and stops there. We appreciate self motivated, independent people who are interested in permaculture/natural buiing/healthy living and accustomed to outdoor living. We would love to receive people with building skills either in adobe plasters, timber framing, masonry etc because we are finishing our domes on the inside. Also people who are adept with a machete and efficient weeders. Jungle farm life can be difficult, it is often hot, wet and itchy and steep slopes. Please don't write us if you're not up to those challenges. We are hosting small groups of volunteers for one week a month so we can permie blitz as a team, so if we host you well coordinate into that.
