  Description

  Hello, my name is Emanuele Minnella and with my wife Lara we are parents of 4 beautiful children, Ada, Luna, Samuele and Sveva, who are between 10 and 6 years old. We live in Palermo (Sicily), a multicultural city, an open-air architectural museum. We live on the outskirts, but a 3-minute drive from the historic city centre. Our children attend school regularly from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 2 pm. At 15 pm the children begin their homework, helped by an after-school girl, while in management and organization we get help from a babysitter, who has been working with us for years now. My wife Lara and I both work, she manages a bookshop in a monumental site called Palazzo dei Normanni. Instead, I work in the world of cinema as a focus puller. Our project is to be able to support the children with a native speaker who can give them the basics of learning another language. Our idea is to host a girl for a period of 2 / 3 months in the summer, offer food and accommodation, in exchange for support in family management, in this regard we will specify the terms and conditions with the person in charge.

  Palermo presents some problems of an organizational and functional nature. But the history of our land tells that the city has always supported colonizers from all over the world and in addition to leaving behind different styles and cultures, they have also left a certain indifference to problems of a hygienic nature in the Sicilian character, but as I said before, the city has many facets and is loved by all visitors. Palermo is a city of a thousand facets, most of the monumental sites, belonging to the Norman Arab route. Many stories have stained Palermo negatively, but those who live in this city know how much potential and how much beauty is hidden in its alleys. We live about 3 km from the historic center, a villa at the foot of a fantastic promontory from which you can see all of Palermo, therefore far from traffic and stress. Street food, the sea and the sun are fundamental aspects of our culture, but the monuments, the baroque churches, the cathedral, the mosaics and the alleys of the streets make this city something unique in the world. Sicilian intended as a dialect, you learn it by going to the markets, buying street food, and talking to people, yes because Sicilian people have so much love and affection for foreigners.

  Help

  The tasks on the part of the helper are really simple. What is required is to help out with the housework (eg: cleaning, making the beds), this would only take a couple of hours in the morning, during which you could practice the Italian language with my wife or the babysitter. At the end he would have 4/5 hours available to be able to go around or to the beach with my wife and children. In the afternoon you should spend some time teaching English to the children.

  Accommodation

  We offer guests a room of about 20 square meters just for her, bathroom and food. The house is about 220 square meters large with 2 bathrooms and 6 rooms.
  As for food, breakfast consists of:
  cereals, milk, coffee, biscuits, Nutella,
  jam, rusks.
  At lunchtime a plate of pasta is expected or if we should be at the beach we generally prepare rice with tuna or buy sandwiches on the street.
  At dinner there is a varied menu on the following days:
  eggs, meat, chicken, fish, vegetables and fruit.

  What else ...

  The area we live in is well connected by public transport. A bus can take guests close to the center and from there they can be moved on foot (the historic center is not very large). To reach the seaside resorts, on the other hand, it is necessary to travel by car, as the buses have a long journey due to traffic, but this does not exclude that you can reach Mondello by bus for example.
