Description
Stay in the heart of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way!
I’m looking for a friendly, fun, and interesting WorkAwayer (or two!) to join our household and help with the running of the house. This includes light housework, dog walking, help with meals and on occasion hanging out with the kids. As they are older it’s not really Au Pair or babysitting work. We’re based right in the centre of Ennistymon (Co. Clare) – a vibrant market town with colourful cafés, traditional pubs, and live music most nights. Behind the house are leafy forest walks and a waterfall, and just down the road is Lahinch, one of Ireland’s most famous surf beaches. The Burren, Cliffs of Moher, and Doolin’s traditional music scene are all close by, and we’re on a handy bus route for exploring the region.
Our home is a spacious old house with a big garden, full of character. I live here with my three boys (11, 15, and 17) – they’re independent but the household is lively, so an extra pair of hands makes a big difference. You’d be helping mainly with general household support and light tasks, with plenty of time left over to explore, surf, or soak up the music and culture.
If you’re looking for a welcoming base in one of Ireland’s most beautiful and exciting areas, we’d love to hear from you!Types of help and learning opportunities

Our home sits in the heart of one of the most creative corners of the Wild Atlantic Way, where traditional rural life meets a vibrant, modern Ireland. Ennistymon and the surrounding area are renowned for art, music, history and wild nature. You’ll find colourful cafés, farmers’ markets, live sessions in the pubs, forest walks, surf beaches and the dramatic Burren landscape all within easy reach.
As a family we love to travel, meet new people and share stories. We’re immersed in our local community, which includes everything from singing circles to arts projects, surf culture and local festivals. Staying with us gives you the chance to experience authentic small-town Irish life while also meeting a wide variety of creative, welcoming people.
We hope our WorkAway guests will feel part of this community and enjoy the exchange as much as we do.Projects involving children

Help
We’re looking for WorkAway guests who enjoy being part of a lively household and are comfortable around teenagers. My three boys (11, 15 and 17) are fairly independent, but an extra adult presence who can act as a positive role model or mentor is always welcome. I’m a busy working, single Mom (I run a business but WorkAwayer’s will not be involved in this in any way - rather supporting me at home so I can manage both!)
Day-to-day help would include:
General household support — tidying, light cleaning, laundry, cooking simple meals or helping with prep
Walking and caring for our two friendly dogs and two cats
Being a calm, friendly presence for the boys and occasionally helping them stay organised
If you’re practical or creative, there are always small house or garden projects we could work on together
I’m open to ideas and like to match people with the tasks they most enjoy. You’ll have plenty of free time to explore the area, surf, or enjoy the music and culture nearby.Languages spoken

Accommodation
You’ll be staying in our spacious, character-filled 250-year-old home with a large garden. The house has plenty of communal spaces to relax and unwind – a kitchen, cosy sitting room, separate movie room, and even a pool room with a pool table and dartboard.
Outside you’ll find a beautiful garden with a trampoline, a cold plunge and a sauna for the brave!
We offer our WorkAway guest a comfortable private ensuite bedroom within the house. All linens, Wi-Fi and access to the shared spaces are included. It’s a welcoming, homely base with lots of charm – perfect for relaxing after exploring the Wild Atlantic Way.
We like to share meals together whenever possible. Dinner is usually a sit-down meal for everyone, and lunch is more flexible as we’re often on different schedules (work, school, activities).
Everyone in the household, including WorkAway guests, is welcome to get involved with meals. We take turns cooking, setting the table, and tidying up afterwards. It’s a nice way to share recipes, chat about the day, and enjoy a bit of cultural exchange around food.
Breakfast ingredients are always available so you can help yourself whenever you’re up.A little more information
