  Who we are We live in Lunigiana, among the hills of northern Tuscany, in a simple place surrounded by nature. We are a family with Leo, 12, horses, donkeys, dogs, and chickens: a small world that requires daily care and a lot of patience. There's always some practical work to do. What we do: Our time is divided between renovating the house, caring for the land (which we would like to make increasingly tidy and livable), and the daily care of the animals: horses, donkeys, dogs, and chickens.

  Viviamo in Lunigiana, tra le colline della Toscana settentrionale, in un luogo semplice e immerso nella natura. Siamo una famiglia con Leo, 12 anni, cavalli, asini, cani e galline: un piccolo mondo che richiede cura quotidiana e tanta pazienza. c'è sempre qualche lavoro pratico da portare avanti.
  Cosa facciamo
  Il nostro tempo è diviso tra i lavori di ristrutturazione della casa, la cura del terreno (che vorremmo rendere sempre più ordinato e vivibile) e l'accudimento quotidiano degli animali: cavalli, asini, cani e galline.

  Living together and cultural exchange. We speak Italian, German, and even English, and are deeply rooted in this area. We enjoy sharing our beautiful Lunigiana, with its walks, villages, local markets, and the rhythms of country life. Those who visit us can count on us for more than just work: we can share our experience with animals, especially horses and donkeys, and with life in the outdoors. Hosting people from different cultures is also an opportunity for exchange: we're curious to learn about perspectives, customs, and stories different from our own, and we hope it will also be an opportunity for Leo to grow and open up to the world. We gladly give priority to those who don't speak German, so that we can enjoy a language exchange experience different from our daily routines. We communicate well in Italian or English, however.
  
  
  Vita insieme e scambio culturale
  Parliamo italiano, tedesco e anche inglese, e siamo ben radicati in questo territorio: ci piace condividere la nostra splendida Lunigiana, tra passeggiate, borghi, mercati locali e i ritmi della vita di campagna.
  Chi viene a trovarci può contare su di noi anche per qualcosa in più del semplice lavoro: possiamo condividere la nostra esperienza con gli animali, in particolare cavalli e asini, e con la vita all'aria aperta.
  Ospitare persone da culture diverse è per noi anche un'occasione di scambio: siamo curiosi di conoscere prospettive, abitudini e storie diverse dalle nostre, e speriamo che anche per Leo sia un'occasione di crescita e apertura verso il mondo. Diamo volentieri priorità a chi non parla tedesco, così da vivere un'esperienza di scambio linguistico diverso dal nostro quotidiano: ci intendiamo bene comunque in italiano o inglese.

  Help

  What we're looking for: We're looking for experienced people who can lend a helping hand in exchange for room and board and an authentic experience of country life. It's helpful to have some experience with manual tasks, landscaping, or animal care. Children are welcome. Leo would appreciate some company. Pets are also welcome, as long as they're well-behaved and well-cared for by their owners.

  Cerchiamo persone con esperienza, capaci di dare una mano concreta in cambio di vitto, alloggio e un'esperienza autentica di vita in campagna. È utile avere già dimestichezza con lavori manuali, cura del terreno o degli animali.
  I bambini sono benvenuti. A Leo farebbe piacere avere un po' di compagnia. Anche gli animali sono benvenuti, purché educati e ben gestiti dai loro proprietari.

  The house is isolated, surrounded by nature, so a car is necessary for getting around: for shopping, to reach nearby villages, or to explore the area. In your free time, you can enjoy walks and hikes in the surrounding area, discover the villages of Lunigiana, the local markets, and, for animal lovers, spend time with horses and donkeys. How We Live: We're grateful not to bring dairy products or supermarket meat into the house. We live a fairly vegan lifestyle, but we happily eat eggs from our own chickens and cheese from friends we know. Our son also eats meat from animals owned by acquaintances. Visitors are asked to respect this lifestyle during their stay.
  
  La casa è isolata, immersa nella natura, quindi è necessaria l'auto per muoversi: per la spesa, per raggiungere i paesi vicini o esplorare la zona. Nel tempo libero si possono fare passeggiate ed escursioni nei dintorni, scoprire i borghi della Lunigiana, i mercati locali e, per chi ama gli animali, passare del tempo con cavalli e asini.
  Come viviamo
  Siamo grati di non portare in casa latticini e carne da supermercato. Viviamo in modo piuttosto vegano, ma mangiamo volentieri le uova delle nostre galline e il formaggio di amici che conosciamo. Nostro figlio mangia anche la carne di animali di conoscenti. Chi viene a trovarci è invitato a rispettare questo stile di vita durante il soggiorno.
