    Welcome to our Shuar Cultural Heritage Farm, located in the lush, green province of Morona Santiago, Ecuador—a hidden gem nestled by jungle waterfalls and surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Amazon rainforest. Our unique farm invites international volunteers to be part of a project that blends sustainable agriculture, cultural preservation, with a special emphasis in people with Visual impairments.

    As a volunteer you'll contribute to the preservation of Shuar traditions while immersing yourself in our way of life. in your message please express the interest you are interested in contributing.

    1. Cultural Exchange

    Immerse yourself in the traditions of the Shuar people, learning their language, customs, and daily practices.

    Learn to prepare traditional Shuar meals like chicha de yuca and cacao-based recipes, deepening your understanding of their connection to food and community.

    Exchange your own skills or traditions with the Shuar family, creating a bridge of mutual learning and understanding.

    2. Work as a Farm Hand

    Assist with planting, harvesting, and weeding cacao, papa china, yucca, and other crops.
    Learn traditional Shuar farming techniques, including sustainable agroforestry methods that preserve the surrounding jungle ecosystem.
    Help maintain the farm's innovative, accessible design by ensuring pathways and tactile markers for visually impaired workers remain functional.
    Care for native and endemic species, helping to preserve the biodiversity and patrimony of the Amazon.
    Aquaculture for frog and clams.
    nurseries to keep spreading native seeds and plants.

    3. Documenting Cultural Evolution

    Support the farm’s efforts to preserve Shuar cultural heritage by documenting the evolution of their farming practices, traditions, and daily lives.
    Work on a photojournalism or video project, capturing the story of the farm and its people.
    Help create educational materials to share the Shuar culture with future volunteers and the global community.
    Collaborate with the Shuar family to develop a living archive of traditions, songs, and stories that celebrate their identity while adapting to modern challenges which are being lost to the next generation of youth.

    While you’ll be surrounded by rainforest your stay will still include modern comforts:

    Private room: Each volunteer will have their own space to rest, recharge, and reflect after a day’s work.
    Comfortable bed: Sleep soundly with a proper mattress and fresh linens provided.
    Internet access: Stay connected to the world, whether you’re documenting your journey or keeping in touch with loved ones.

    We will offer breakfast and lunch m-f , the volunteers are encouraged to explore over the weekend but are welcome to stay - we have many foods to harvest here also , they will not go hungry
