We are a family of four, my husband and I are in our fourties, and we have two children, Rocco (10) and Lavinia (8). We leave in the beautiful upper Tiber valley in Umbria, the green heart of Italy; I run a farm with my family in a close medieval village called Montone, and my husband is a sales agent.
We like to travel, and we love to cook. We are mainly looking for someone to practice english with, and that could give a little help with the children and at home when needed.
Babysitting and creative play
Help around the house
We hope this will be a mutual positive experience, having the chance to share different cultures, life styles and culinary traditions.
Umbria is a wonderful region, full of history, traditions and beautiful cities and towns, such as Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi, Città di Castello and many more.
We are just a couple hrs far both from Rome and Bologna, and very close to the border with Tuscany, within 1 1/2 hrs from Florence and Siena, 45' to Arezzo.
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
I am trying to teach english to our kids and keep practicing with my husband, and having an english native person sharing everyday life with us would be the best way for them to improve. Previous experience with children is very welcome.
Depending on the season, if you wish, you could also help out at the farm, i.e. during grape and olive harvest.
We have an independent room ensuite w/heating and airco; we will share meals, but you can feel free to use the kitchen as you like.
During week days we spend most of the time away from home; the kids are in school till 4pm, so you will have plenty of time to visit Umbria and Tuscany. The train station (to Perugia) is less than 2km from our home, and we have a bike you can use. You will also be able to get a ride to Perugia or Città di Castello, or other towns we may be going to for work or in weekends, if you want to spend more time with us.
