    Description

Sharing my home is a nice opportunity to experience a peaceful waterside area and enjoy a bit of a different lifestyle. I’m Greek-Australian and enjoy good food, films, culture and having interesting conversations. I also love travelling and meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their experiences.

The house is currently being renovated, so there’s always something happening and things are changing as we go. It’s not a finished or perfect home at the moment, so guests need to be comfortable with that. We’re close to the water, walking tracks and some beautiful beaches, so there’s plenty to enjoy around the area when you’re not helping out.

The things you’ll be helping with are mostly practical jobs around the house and garden. I’ve worked in business for many years, so I’m fairly organised and like to keep things running smoothly, but I’m not looking for someone who needs to be supervised all the time.

I enjoy having people around who are friendly, respectful and easygoing. Being independent is important, as I think it’s good for everyone to have their own space as well as spending time together.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and learning about their experiences, perspectives and traditions. In return, guests can gain an insight into Australian life and local culture while experiencing a relaxed coastal lifestyle.

Those who stay here may also have the opportunity to learn practical household, organisational and property-maintenance skills through the various projects around the home. With my professional business background, I'm also happy to share my knowledge and experiences where relevant.

I enjoy getting out and about and occasionally visiting cafés, restaurants, events and places around Melbourne. You're always welcome to join me when suitable. For outings and activities, we would generally each cover our own personal costs, such as meals, tickets or entry fees, unless I specifically offer otherwise.

I value mutual respect, open communication and personal independence.

  • Help

    Help

As I live in a large home that is currently undergoing renovation, there is a variety of help required around the property. Tasks required will include household chores, household organisation, window cleaning, light gardening such as weeding, cutting the grass and watering, and also may include some sanding and painting around the house. Wherever possible, I will match tasks to your skills, experience, and interests.

The tasks are varied and you will be contributing to ongoing improvements around the home. I appreciate reliable, proactive, and respectful individuals who are comfortable working independently as well as following direction when needed.

While I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing occasional conversations, guests should be comfortable entertaining themselves and exploring the local area during their free time as I still work full time and may not be around during the day. The nearby waterways, walking trails, and beaches offer plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the surroundings. We would . We would also benefit from gardening help, including hedge trimming, pruning, weeding and keeping our vegetable garden healthy

    Accommodation

I offer comfortable accommodation and warm hospitality. You'll have your own private bedroom with a single bed and a spacious wardrobe, along with access to a shared bathroom. Guests also have access to laundry facilities and a fully equipped kitchen.

Food will be provided, and you'll have access to the kitchen and groceries to prepare your own breakfast and lunch. Dinner arrangements can be shared or worked out together, depending on my work commitments, as I tend to arrive home late at least twice a week. If you have particular dietary requirements please let me know in advance so we can discuss whether the arrangement will be suitable.

The home is located in a safe and convenient neighbourhood with easy access to public transport, including buses and trains, as well as cycling and walking paths. Cafés, parks, restaurants, shopping and the beach are all within easy reach, making it an excellent base from which to explore the local area.

There is currently no desk in the room , but if needed we can sort something out. Good communication is key to achieving this.
