    Description

Mexico hostel. Here's an opportunity to visit San Cristobal de las Casas and meet the most popular maestro (teacher) of salsa and bachata in Chiapas. We have this little project called a hostel, and we need someone to help us prepare it. If you dance something already, we can provide you with a salsa and bachata class if you like it. Any questions?:)

Practising Spanish through conversation, learning and dancing salsa and bachata with an experienced maestro, and enjoying the rich cultural experience of Chiapas. San Cristóbal is one of the most beautiful towns here — that’s why people call it magic. The weather is perfect for living (not too hot, like on the beach, around 25°C). There’s a large local market where you can buy very cheap and high-quality fruits and vegetables (Chiapas is much cheaper compared to other states). You can find delicious mangos for 10–15 pesos per kilo, and much more.
There’s also a nice international community here. People living in Chiapas are coming from all over the world. Many artists are developing or sharing their skills in San Cris. You can participate in all kinds of classes: yoga, theatre, making chocolate, cacao ceremonies, temazcal, etc. From our side, we can show you on the map which places you have to visit, so you won't regret it:)

Building Help Wanted - if you are experienced in building, please let us know which project you can take:)

    1. We’re looking for someone who can help us build a small cabana where guests can sleep. It needs to be well waterproofed, as it can rain heavily for several hours here. 2. If you’ve built a wooden garden sauna before, that’s also something we’d be very interested in! 3. If you have experience and you can stay for more than two weeks or so, we need to make a cement screed to level the floor of 48m2, about 1-2 cm. 4. Easy if someone has experience, make a wooden little house 2mx1mx2m for tools and lawnmower in the garden from the pallets (taking boards from pallets too etc:) ).

    Hospitality
We’re looking for someone to help with hospitality tasks: changing beds, cleaning common areas, and occasionally welcoming guests (we have just six rooms).
We need someone reliable who can:
-Change sheets and sometimes hang the laundry
    -Clean 2 bathrooms
    - Vacuum and mop the floors
    - Keep the space tidy once or twice a day (that means if you're working in the morning, you can clean the floor in the evening in the kitchen or take out trash if it's full - kitchen, bathrooms).
It’s usually an easy job and takes about 1–3 hours a day — we also help with it. If there’s not much to do in the hostel, we often need help in the garden too. If you’re quick and efficient, it usually takes about 1.5 to 2 hours a day. That’s around 10–15 hours per week.

    Artists & Creatives
We’re looking for artists with a portfolio to paint Aztec-style or similar motifs on the walls—maybe a big mandala on the terrace, or something crazy and cool. Musicians, yoga teachers, and other creatives are also welcome. We have plenty of space on the terrace and in the garden, and we’re open to your ideas for collaboration. For example, if you bring people to stay at the hostel, you can use a space to run a workshop and receive accommodation (we need to speak about it before).

Fast wifi, hot water, fully equipped kitchen with induction, high-level clean drinking water in the kitchen, huge garden, spaces for study, etc, books for reading (Eng, Spanish, German, French), maybe soon a table for ping pong.. or sauna.
