Description
Come and help in beautiful Kinvara, near the sea and the Burren!
I am about 5km from a village called Kinvara, about 20km from Galway City.
I currently need help with a couple of things
- Minding my baby daughter (playing with her, entertaining her etc) whilst I'm working online in the house
- A couple of evenings potentially babysitting whilst my daughter is asleep
- Some weeding of the garden and vegetable patch
- Walking or minding our doggie on some mornings/other days (I did have 3 dogs, but now only one - the black one in the pics). There may also be other jobs like painting, and there's ALWAYS work in the house cleaning and tidying.
I am a single mother with a toddler - 2 in July 2025 - and as I work online I often need help with her so that I can work. My work is sporadic, so you may come at a time when I'm busy, or not busy. When I'm not, the work would be more in the garden or with my doggie, and when I'm busy, it's playing with and entertaining my daughter and/or cooking vegan food for her.
You would have your own bedroom and small bathroom with shower. I also have some musical instruments in case you play or sing :-)
You would really need to be an animal lover - my dog is allowed everywhere, so this is NOT for you if you don't like dogs in the kitchen, in the bedrooms, and if you can't ensure the front gate is always CLOSED for safety. You'd also need to be very strong and understanding of doggie temperaments, as my dog can react to cats...and especially other dogs she doesn't know.
I am vegan so only the dog eats meat in this house! Therefore, you must be vegan or vegetarian, and a non-smoker (that's any type of substance), non-vaper. You would also need to be a tidy person. Untidiness and dirty dishes etc are stressful to me, so I only like to do workaway if it makes my life easier, not more difficult!
I can provide lots of fruits and vegetables, pasta, rice, salads, etc. Let me know what you like and I will buy it in, so long as it is vegan (you can buy your own dairy if you are vegetarian and I can buy eggs). I tend to leave people to cook for themselves, and to share a meal if we're around for dinner at the same time. I'd love new vegan recipes for my daughter to try.
If you have your own transport, that would make it easy for you in your spare time, unless you're content to be home and/or by the beach a lot of the time. I also have a bicycle you can use - it's a 25 minute cycle to the bus stop if you want to go into Galway or the other way towards the Cliffs of Moher and Doolin. I can give lifts into Kinvara on some days.
Please get in touch if interested and let me know your experience with dogs, children (especially toddlers) and gardening/outdoor work!
The more last minute the better for me, as I never know what I'm doing work or travel-wise too far ahead!
Jeni
Note: I still need to update the profile pics - we now only have one dog (the black one) as the other two have sadly passed away since I uploaded these.Types of help and learning opportunities

Kinvara is beautiful, calm and peaceful. I am also happy to help with English language (I used to teach English abroad). You'll learn more about dogs, gardening and childcare - though the idea is that you have some experience of these already (especially childcare)

During your time off, you can go to the local pub up the road, walk to the beach, cycle into Kinvara or go into Galway city (20km) on the bus where there are many things to see and do. There are restaurants and cafes in Kinvara itself, though the area where I live is generally rural and quiet.
Please do not apply if you are a smoker (even outside/casual/e-cigs), or if you are not passionate about animals. It is essential that you are a dog lover and have lots of experience with dogs, as well as being vegan/vegetarian and caring about animals.A little more information

Latifa (10 years)
A royal dog, almost like a person (but better!). Getting older now, a bit of arthritis, but still a complete diva! She can be reactive to other dogs on the lead, so needs somebody strong, and you can't trust her 'just anywhere' but I have a place to let her have a good run, near the house. We'll also go on walks together with her tracker. She is allowed everywhere and normally sleeps on my bed.
