    Description

Welcome to our home by the Taro River!

We are looking forward to welcoming Workawayers to our large country house located in a beautiful natural setting by the Taro River, in the Parma area of Northern Italy.

The house has direct access to the river and is surrounded by a large outdoor area, woodland and plenty of nature. It is a peaceful place where you can enjoy life outdoors, spend time by the river and experience the Italian countryside away from busy city life.

At the moment, we are working on improving and taking care of the outdoor spaces around the house, and we would love to have some extra hands and good company along the way.

    The place

The house is spacious and surrounded by nature, with direct access to the Taro River. Depending on the season, you can relax by the water, go for walks, explore the surrounding countryside or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the property.

This is a good place for people who love nature, outdoor life and simple countryside living. It is especially suitable for travellers who enjoy physical activities and don't mind getting their hands dirty!

We hope to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere where we can share meals, conversations, ideas and experiences with people from different countries.

For us, Workaway is not only about getting help with our projects, but also about cultural exchange, meeting interesting people and enjoying the experience of creating something together.

If you like nature, rivers, gardening, outdoor projects and the idea of spending some time in the Italian countryside, we would be very happy to hear from you!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We live near Borgo Val di Taro, a small town surrounded by the beautiful nature of the Apennines and well known for its porcini mushrooms, local food traditions and strong connection with the surrounding forests.

We would love to introduce our Workawayers to the local area, Italian culture and everyday life here. Depending on the season, we can explore the river and the woods, visit local villages and markets, cook together and discover some of the typical food and traditions of this part of Italy.

Our professional background is in photography and video production, and the house will also become home to our photographic studio. We are happy to share our experience in photography, lighting, video, visual storytelling and creative production with anyone who is interested. It could be a nice opportunity to exchange ideas, experiment creatively and learn from each other.

We are also very curious to meet people from different countries and backgrounds. For us, hosting is not only about receiving help with the property: we enjoy sharing meals, conversations, skills and experiences, and learning about different cultures, languages and ways of life.

We hope the house can become a creative and welcoming place where nature, practical outdoor projects, photography and cultural exchange come together.

  • Help

    Help

Most of the help will be outdoors and can vary depending on the season, the weather and the projects we are working on. Activities may include:

    * creating and maintaining a vegetable garden
    * clearing and cleaning areas of woodland
    * pruning trees and plants
    * moving soil and preparing outdoor areas
    * building or repairing simple wooden fences and palisades
    * cutting back vegetation and general garden maintenance
    * organising and improving the land around the house
    * small outdoor DIY and landscaping projects

You do not need to be an expert. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and being comfortable with practical outdoor tasks are the most important things. Of course, if you already have experience with gardening, forestry, landscaping, carpentry or similar practical skills, that would be very welcome!

We enjoy working together but also want everyone to have enough independence and free time to explore the area and relax.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Workawayers will stay in a recently renovated, independent mini-apartment within the property, suitable for up to two people.

The apartment is arranged over two levels: on the ground floor there is a small living area with a private kitchenette and bathroom, while the sleeping area is located on a cosy mezzanine level.

It is a simple, comfortable and private space where you can relax and have your own independence during your stay. The apartment has everything needed for everyday living, while still being part of the main property and surrounded by nature, with the river and woodland just outside.
