  **Long-term work exchange for an active and responsible couple**
  
  
  We are a family living and working on a mountain farm in El Hoyo, Chubut, Patagonia, Argentina.
  
  Our property is located in the mountains, about 5 km from the main road, surrounded by nature and a beautiful Patagonian landscape. It is a large and diverse property that we continuously work to maintain and develop.
  
  The farm has three tourist cabins, a vegetable garden, fruit trees, a small vineyard, native vegetation and forest, an artificial lagoon, a swimming pool and a chicken coop. We also have several animals, including horses, goats, cows, chickens and dogs.
  
  The tourist cabins are an important part of the property and of our daily work. We welcome visitors throughout the year, so keeping the cabins and the property in good condition is an important responsibility.
  
  We are looking for a couple who wants to stay for at least three months and become part of the daily rhythm of the place. We value people who are responsible, active, respectful, clean, organized, consistent and genuinely committed to their work.

  Somos una familia que vive y trabaja en una chacra de montaña en El Hoyo, Chubut, Patagonia, Argentina.
  
  La propiedad está ubicada en la montaña, a unos 5 km de la ruta, rodeada de naturaleza y del hermoso paisaje patagónico. Es una propiedad grande y diversa, que requiere trabajo y mantenimiento constante.
  
  La chacra cuenta con tres cabañas destinadas al turismo, huerta, árboles frutales, un pequeño viñedo, vegetación y bosque nativo, una laguna artificial, pileta y gallinero. También tenemos diferentes animales, entre ellos caballos, chivas, vacas, gallinas y perras.
  
  Las cabañas turísticas son una parte muy importante de la propiedad y de nuestro trabajo cotidiano. Recibimos turistas durante el año, por lo que mantener las cabañas, los espacios exteriores y la propiedad en buenas condiciones es una responsabilidad importante.
  
  Buscamos una pareja que quiera quedarse un mínimo de tres meses y que tenga ganas de incorporarse al ritmo cotidiano del lugar. Valoramos especialmente a las personas responsables, activas, respetuosas, limpias, ordenadas, constantes y realmente comprometidas con su trabajo.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  This exchange is an opportunity to experience everyday life in rural Patagonia while becoming part of the real work behind a mountain farm and a small tourist property.
  
  You can learn about vegetable gardening, seasonal harvesting, gardening, pruning, irrigation systems, firewood management, forest maintenance, animal care and general rural property maintenance. You can also gain practical experience with tools and machinery, painting, outdoor maintenance and the everyday work involved in preparing and maintaining tourist cabins.
  
  Working with the cabins also offers the opportunity to learn about hospitality, cleaning and preparing accommodation for guests, interacting with tourists, responding to their needs and understanding the daily operation of a small tourism business. There may also be opportunities to learn about social media, cooking and other aspects of running the property.
  
  More than anything, we hope this can be an experience of learning how a rural property works as a whole: not only the enjoyable parts, but also the constant work, organization, responsibility and commitment needed to keep everything running.
  
  In return, you will have the opportunity to live independently in your own cabin, surrounded by mountains, native Patagonian nature, animals and a peaceful rural environment.
  
  We are especially interested in meeting people who want to experience Patagonia through real everyday life and work, rather than simply passing through as tourists.

  Este intercambio ofrece la posibilidad de experimentar la vida cotidiana en la Patagonia rural y conocer de cerca el trabajo real que hay detrás del funcionamiento de una chacra de montaña y una pequeña propiedad turística.
  
  Podrán aprender sobre huerta, cosechas de estación, jardinería, podas, sistemas de riego, manejo de leña, mantenimiento del bosque, cuidado de animales y mantenimiento general de una propiedad rural. También podrán adquirir experiencia práctica utilizando herramientas y maquinaria, realizando trabajos de pintura, mantenimiento exterior y todas las tareas necesarias para mantener una propiedad de estas características.
  
  El trabajo con las cabañas ofrece además la posibilidad de aprender sobre hospitalidad y turismo: limpieza y preparación de alojamientos, atención a huéspedes, trato con turistas, resolución de necesidades durante sus estadías y funcionamiento cotidiano de una pequeña actividad turística. También podrán participar en tareas relacionadas con redes sociales, cocina y otros aspectos del funcionamiento del lugar.
  
  Sobre todo, buscamos que sea una experiencia en la que puedan conocer cómo funciona una propiedad rural en su totalidad: no solamente las partes lindas y disfrutables, sino también el trabajo constante, la organización, la responsabilidad y el compromiso que hacen posible mantenerla funcionando.
  
  A cambio, tendrán la posibilidad de vivir de manera independiente en su propia cabaña, rodeados de montañas, naturaleza patagónica, animales y un entorno rural tranquilo.
  
  Nos interesa especialmente conocer personas que quieran experimentar la Patagonia desde la vida cotidiana y el trabajo real, y no solamente como turistas.

  We are looking for a young, active and responsible couple who genuinely enjoys working and is willing to commit to the daily responsibilities of a large rural property.
  
  We want to be clear from the beginning: this is a real work exchange. We are looking for people who come with the intention of working, contributing and taking responsibility for the place. Living in the mountains, surrounded by nature and animals, is a beautiful part of the experience, but this is not a holiday or simply an opportunity to “try rural life”.
  
  The work is varied and changes according to the season and the needs of the property. It includes:
  
  Cleaning and preparing the three tourist cabins between guests and keeping them in good condition.
  Helping with tourists and guests, including attending to their needs during their stay.
  Cleaning and maintaining the main house.
  Working in the vegetable garden and helping with seasonal harvests.
  Gardening, pruning and general maintenance of outdoor spaces.
  Maintaining the irrigation system.
  Cleaning and maintaining areas of the native forest.
  Managing, cutting and chopping firewood.
  Painting and general maintenance work.
  Cleaning and maintaining the swimming pool.
  Caring for and maintaining the animals and their spaces.
  Using tools and machinery such as brush cutters, chainsaws, lawn mowers and a small tractor.
  Helping with cooking when needed.
  Helping with social media and other tasks related to the tourist cabins.
  Taking responsibility for the property and its daily tasks when we are away, once you know how everything works.
  
  We are looking for versatile people who are comfortable with physical work and different kinds of responsibilities. We do not expect you to know how to do absolutely everything, but initiative, willingness to learn and a good attitude are very important.
  
  Previous experience with tools and machinery is highly valued. It is also important that both people know how to drive, as the property is 5 km from the main road and volunteers are responsible for organizing their own transportation and mobility.
  
  We are especially looking for people who are enthusiastic, active, responsible, polite, clean, organized and consistent. We need people who can maintain their energy and commitment throughout the work, who take their responsibilities seriously and who care about doing things properly.
  
  The exchange is 5 hours of work per person, 5 days a week. Normally the working days are during the week, but depending on the needs of the property and the tourist season, days off may occasionally be rearranged, including exchanging a weekend day for a weekday.
  
  We are looking for a minimum commitment of three months, ideally longer, because it takes time to learn the property, its routines and responsibilities and to become independent in the work.

  Queremos dejarlo claro desde el principio: este es un **intercambio de trabajo real**. Buscamos personas que vengan con intención de trabajar, colaborar y asumir responsabilidades. Vivir en la montaña, rodeados de naturaleza y animales, es una parte hermosa de la experiencia, pero este no es un lugar para venir de vacaciones ni simplemente a “probar la vida de chacra”.
  
  El trabajo es variado y cambia según la época del año y las necesidades de la propiedad. Incluye:
  
  * Limpieza y preparación de las tres cabañas entre huéspedes y mantenimiento de las mismas.
  * Atención y asistencia a turistas y huéspedes durante su estadía.
  * Limpieza y mantenimiento de la casa principal.
  * Trabajo en la huerta y cosechas de estación.
  * Jardinería, podas y mantenimiento general de los espacios exteriores.
  * Mantenimiento del sistema de riego.
  * Limpieza y mantenimiento de sectores del bosque y vegetación nativa.
  * Manejo, corte y hachado de leña.
  * Trabajos de pintura y mantenimiento general.
  * Limpieza y mantenimiento de la pileta.
  * Cuidado y mantenimiento de los animales y sus espacios.
  * Uso de herramientas y maquinaria como desmalezadora, motosierra, máquina de cortar pasto y tractorcito.
  * Ayuda con la cocina cuando sea necesario.
  * Trabajo con redes sociales y otras tareas relacionadas con las cabañas y el turismo.
  * Con el tiempo, asumir responsabilidades y eventualmente quedarse a cargo de la propiedad y de las tareas cotidianas cuando nosotros no estemos.
  
  Buscamos personas versátiles, cómodas con el trabajo físico y capaces de adaptarse a diferentes tipos de tareas. No esperamos que sepan hacer absolutamente todo, pero sí valoramos mucho la iniciativa, la buena predisposición para aprender y la capacidad de trabajar de manera constante.
  
  Se valora especialmente tener experiencia previa con herramientas y maquinaria. También es importante que sepan manejar, ya que la propiedad está ubicada a 5 km de la ruta y los voluntarios deberán organizar sus propios traslados y movilidad.
  
  Buscamos personas entusiastas, activas, responsables, educadas, limpias, ordenadas y constantes. Necesitamos personas que puedan mantener la energía y el compromiso durante las actividades, que se tomen las responsabilidades en serio y que tengan interés en hacer bien las tareas.
  
  El intercambio es de **5 horas de trabajo por persona, 5 días a la semana**. Generalmente los días de trabajo serán durante la semana, aunque dependiendo de las necesidades de la propiedad y de la temporada turística, ocasionalmente se podrán reorganizar los días libres, por ejemplo, cambiando un día del fin de semana por un día de la semana.
  
  Buscamos un compromiso mínimo de **tres meses**, idealmente más tiempo, ya que lleva tiempo conocer la propiedad, sus rutinas y responsabilidades y lograr autonomía en el trabajo.

  The volunteers live independently and organize their own daily life. Meals are not shared with us, so you will be responsible for buying, preparing and cooking your own food.
  
  We provide seasonal vegetables from the vegetable garden when available, as well as some basic foods such as rice, pasta and potatoes.
  
  The farm is located about 5 km from the main road, so volunteers need to organize their own transportation and mobility. For this reason, being able to drive is especially important.

  Ofrecemos una cabaña independiente dentro de la propiedad, que será su espacio privado durante toda la estadía.
  
  La cabaña cuenta con:
  
  * Baño privado.
  * Cocina.
  * Calefacción a leña.
  * Espacio propio e independiente.
  
  Los voluntarios viven de manera independiente y organizan su propia vida cotidiana. Las comidas no se realizan con nosotros, por lo que cada pareja deberá comprar, organizar y preparar sus propias comidas.
  
  Ofrecemos verduras de la huerta según la estación y la disponibilidad, además de algunos alimentos básicos como arroz, fideos y papas.
  
  La chacra está ubicada a unos 5 km de la ruta, por lo que los voluntarios deberán organizar sus propios traslados y movilidad. Por este motivo, saber manejar es especialmente importante para nosotros.

  Nuestra granja está ubicada en un pequeño pueblo de la Patagonia. Está cerca de El Bolson (150 km al sur de Bariloche). Hay muchos secretos naturales para explorar (caídas, lagos, senderos, etc.). Puede tomar prestadas bicicletas para llegar allí (El Hoyo de Epuyen), así como explorar el área local.
