Hi I'm Neil, I am the owner of a 15 Hectare property overlooking the beautiful Doubtless Bay in the Far North of the North island of New Zealand.
I have worked in many industries both in NZ and in the Asia Pacific area, these occupations include Animal control for the Dept of Conservation, Engineering work in oil and gas exploration, marine aquariums and dive charters in many areas of Asia and Australia before returning to New Zealand and working in the Civil Engineering industry.
I arrived at this property 3 years ago, I am now employing myself to work on this 15 Hectare property that has previously been planted with a variety of fruit trees including banana which I am intending to increase in quantity along with Avacardo.
I currently graze 15 cattle of various ages and have 20 Boer cross goats to keep weeds and scrub bushes in control.
The property is very conveniently located for day adventures to the tip of the North Island (Cape Reinga) and the many beaches of the far North.
The area is renown for fishing and diving opportunities or exploring the isolated beaches.
DIY and building projects
Doubtless Bay was an important historical location at the time of arrival for both Maori and in later time European settlers, there are several historical Maori sites and early settler museums within easy access
Depending on skill levels there are a variety of light or more physical activities to do dependent on season, the garden and bananas can always do with additional care, at certain times help with animal husbandry would be grateful.
A newly completed self contained ( shower, toilet and kitchnette with BBQ) sleepout with 2 single beds that can be joined to a super king bed.
The accommodation is attached to one end of a outside workshop 12m from the main house.
Food can be shared on occasions (I am an omnivore with some meat provided for from the property) basic foodstuffs can be provided, for those staying over a week and flexible with helping hours.
If guests require any special items or dietary needs they will need to provide themselves.
This place is situated on State Highway 10, a bus service is available to nearby towns and also to Auckland, the ability to drive greatly enhances flexibility.
A day trip visit to Cape Reinga is a must do, Taipa village has a great beach for swimming and a convenient cafe, cable Bay and Coopers beach have shopping for food and essentials and the harbour of Mangonui has restaurants and great seascapes.
As the owner of a friendly bordercollie cross dog, workawayers will need to be tolerant of dogs and other animals on the property.
