Description
5 years ago we bought our dream space in Mid North Coast NSW.
After spending years between us at other Workaways around the world, we had endless inspiration to want a space of our own.
Jaz, Jake, Alysia, and our 4 strong fur brigade share 100 acres of native bush with a swimming hole and as many projects as your imagination can think of at our off-grid paradise. We also share this space with lots of native animals, kangaroos, wallabies, goannas, snakes, bandicoots and koalas have all be seen amongst others.
Anything from:
the needed - new toilet and shower block, weed removal, wildfire safety measures
to the wanted - veggie garden, fruit and nut tree planting,
to the wishlist - as far as our collective imaginations can go!
and whatever else the moment needs.
We welcome all people with whatever skill sets, if you want to come to learn, we are here to teach you, if you come with specific skills to share or work on, we will find projects that fit that.
Work schedules will be flexible, and the nearest surf beach is only 20 minutes away.
As Workawayers ourselves, creating a welcoming place is so important to us, now we are travelling less, this gives us an opportunity to continue to meet amazing people.
Expect nights by the fire, and regular BBQ's, we want to make this a place people will love to be at, whilst also being willing to get their hands dirty.
As it stands, facilities are quite basic, but we have running water, a flushing toilet and electricity.
Food will probably look something like this -
- DIY breakfast with provided ingredients
- a simple lunch
- a big delicious (often vegan/vegetarian) dinner we can all eat together.
Your main points of contact will be Jaz and Jake, and you'll be working alongside them. Both of us work remotely so might set volunteers off to do some tasks with no supervision, but will make sure we are always available and have given clear instructions.
Work schedules will be very flexible depending on the volunteers preferences.
We are excited for this to be our way of sharing our slice of paradise, and to keep the feeling of travelling going through the people we will meet! -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
learn about native Australian plants, and off grid lifestlye in native bushlands. Be part of a growing family. We will eat together every night, and most mornings and afternoons too, community is so important to us.
We are always learning through others, so really excited to learn from people who come through and join our community! -
Help
Anything from:
the needed - new toilet and shower block, weed removal, wildfire safety measures
to the wanted - veggie garden, fruit and nut tree planting,
to the wishlist - saunas, zip lines, arial spider webs to climb up
and whatever else the moment needs.
There are endless projects here, and whilst sometimes we will give direction to the projects based on what we need, we are always open to peoples ideas and will make it happen if possible.
We welcome all people with whatever skill sets, if you want to come to learn, we are here to teach you, if you come with specific skills to share or work on, we will find projects that fit that. -

Happy to work with any people who are interested in working on any languages we listed! Being fluent in sign language (BSL and Auslan, limited proficiency in International Sign) means this is probably one of the most Deaf friendly workaways available! Would love to have native Japanese speakers so we can work on our Japanese too! -
Accommodation
Can be flexible, we have a caravan people can stay in, people are welcome to stay in their own vans, and we are building helper huts as we speak

Can possibly accept pets
We have our Vizla/Staffie cross, Chilli, who wears a muzzle with other dogs as she has had a mixed history, but she is a great pup, loves people and other dogs but can sometimes be reactive. We also have a couple more pups and a cat, but the cat stays indoors and the other pups are away from the main workaway accomodation.

How many Workawayers can stay?
More than two

My animals / pets
Ralph
The littlest of the gang, Ralph definitely has small dog energy and needs to be kept on a lead when on a walk to protect our native wildlife!
Pablo
Pablo is a big chunky Rottweiller who just wants a cuddle at all times, an absolute chiller!
Chilli (6 years)
Chilli is a 6 year old Vizla/Staffie (we think). She loves people and loves cuddles.
She ended up with us after Jaz's disability work clients condition worsened and he was unable to give her the love she needed.
She can be reactive with other dogs or animals, so when she's socialising we pop a muzzle on her.
