    Description

Our main project at the time: We are living in Sortland but during some days Gøran will drive about an hour to our vacation house where we are fixing some smaller things inside. Gøran will be there to do the work but could use a hand with carrying and holding bigger things. He will hold one side, and will need help from someone to hold the other side. For the remaining time we have other projects at home. If you are a little handy and can take initiative to help when needed we would love to hear from you.

Me, my fiance, our baby and Dexter 🐈‍⬛ are living in the beautiful Vesterålen where we enjoy nature and hiking. Often we are looking for someone to keep Dexter company while we are away, but we also have many other projects we'd love help with. We have a house in the countryside of Sortland with amazing views. It's about 4km to the city center, but we have bikes that can be borrowed.

We welcomed our little baby boy into the world in 2024, so currently our days are slightly chaotic with baby life.

The easiest way to get to Sortland is to fly to Evenes (Harstad/Narvik/Lofoten) and take the airport bus for two hours to Sortland. There's also an airport very nearby in Stokmarknes. The flights can be more expensive, but it's possible to find cheap flights with transits in Bodø. If desired to travel by train it goes to Fauske or Bodø and then a bus for six hours from there. Also possible to take the ferry from Bodø to Moskenes and bus through Lofoten. Also there is a train to Narvik with possible bus connections to Sortland. Another possibility is to travel to Tromsø and take Hurtigruten here, or the boat to Harstad and buses from there.

Let me know if this could be of any interest for a short term project 😊

You'll get the chance to stay in a nice house in the countryside of Sortland or our vacation house in Bø, both with amazing views from the house, located in the middle of Vesterålen with lots of beautiful nature. We are happy to give advice on things to experience in the area, especially hikes. We like to cook and if possible will make some typical Norwegian meals, although most our meals are quite international. We will share our experience of how life is in the Arctic. Life with a 1-year old is challenging but we will try our best to share as much time as we can to show this beautiful area.

    Help

At times we need some help for different tasks around the house. It could be cleaning, gardening, daily tasks, helping to lift and carry things and diy projects.

If we are traveling we would be looking for someone who loves cats, who would enjoy to give Dexter cuddles, brush him and maybe go for small walk with him. Also make sure he has food, water and a clean litterbox. Dexter is quite a social cat who likes to be around people. He is crazy about being brushed. Really crazy. He will nag the whole day to be brushed, so some patience is required. If you want to enjoy the amazing nature of Northern Norway and keep my lovely cat company this is the perfect opportunity.
