Description
We are a retired couple living in the Ozark Mountains Missouri with our three amazing dogs, looking for help on our private 200 acre homestead. We can offer housing and food, some of which is picked straight from our garden and goes right to our table. We are mostly interested in someone helping with our organic garden in the spring and summer, but in the fall and winter I hope to find someone who can help me manage, label and store all my stones, crystals and gems, including all the beads and cabs that I own.
We have two homes (attached) on 200 acres with a 5 acre lake and several little ponds. Our property is loaded with trails, fields and wooded areas. We have a barn with 6 alpacas and a donkey and a chicken coup with 10 chickens. Some of the fun activities on our property are hunting for berries, mushrooms and wild medicinal plants that we can dry and use in tinctures, salves or soaps. With all that we harvest from the garden or find in the woods I either can it or dehydrate or freeze dry it.Types of help and learning opportunities

You can learn about livestock, gardening and how to live off the land. I am a certified aromatherapist, sound therapist (tibetan and crystal bowls) and a crystal healer. I would be happy to share my knowledge with others.
Help
In Spring and Summer, We need help with the garden and weeding and cutting paths through the woods. Help with mowing and edging. Also need help feeding the animals and cleaning the barn and chicken coup. Fun tasks are hunting for berries and making jam. Hunting for mushrooms and cooking them or making tinctures or freeze dying, depending on the type. Last year we harvested over 40 pounds of Chanterelles and were able to make beer (at a local distillery). I also make healing salves from plants I find on the property and include some of the many essential oils I have.
We are pretty laid back and easy to work with. Newly retired and in our early 60’s, we still work hard but we also value having fun experiences too.
In the fall and winter I will need help indoors with all of my stones, minerals and rocks.Languages spoken

Accommodation
The house we are offering has two levels. We are providing the lower level for your use. It has two bedrooms and two baths, a full kitchen with a family room and internet TV. This lower level has a walkout to a patio, where you’ll most likely see Alpacas through the window every morning. This house has been newly renovated.
What else ...
We live in the Ozark Mountains in Missouri and have a lot of rivers around us providing a lot of great float trips and hikes. We have canoes and kayaks and 4x4’s for your use.

I stayed there for just short 11 days but it felt like being with family. I made new friends. Their large farm is amazing with all the animals, trees and lake right in front of the house. I became a dog lover because all their dogs are sooo loveable and friendly and let’s not forget the… read more
