  Description

  I'm an artist painter living with a couple of cats in a quiet little place some 1h30-drive south of Paris, bordering a forest famous for its boulder rocks. The property has a large garden that is slowly being redesigned and an outbuilding that's being used as an art studio. This exchange probably suits best people who enjoy the outdoors (walking hiking climbing), or would like to practice art together (sketching drawing painting).

  Artiste peintre, je vis avec deux chats dans un petit coin tranquille du sud francilien, en bordure d'une forêt célèbre pour ses chaos rocheux. La propriété a un terrain un peu sauvage qui est lentement en train d'être redessiné, ainsi qu'une dépendance maintenant convertie en studio d'artiste. Cet échange convient probablement mieux aux personnes qui aiment le plein air (marche randonnée escalade) ou qui souhaiteraient pratiquer ensemble de l'art (esquisse dessin peinture).

  For art lovers we can draw together (and I can give you some advice if you wish). I speak English fluently. I tend to be busy daytime, we can share mealtimes, spend evenings together, go out at the weekends. I like rock scrambling in the forest, going to local gigs, attending art exhibition open days, playing petanque (French boules, I'm very amateur! but there are some serious players in the village).

  Pour les amateurs d'art on peut dessiner ensemble (et je peux vous donner quelques conseils si vous le souhaitez). Je parle anglais couramment. En général je suis occupée durant la journée, nous pouvons partager les repas, passer les soirées ensemble, sortir les week-ends. J'aime crapahuter dans les rochers en forêt, sortir en concert local, aller voir des vernissages, jouer à la pétanque (très amateur ! mais il y a des passionnés dans le village).

  UPDATE November 2025 — With winter settling in, there is no more work available until March 2026, when there will be Spring gardening tasks, some DIY/maintenance and help with cooking and light cleaning.

  MISE À JOUR Novembre 2025 — Avec l'hiver, il n'y a plus de travail disponible jusqu'en mars 2026, date à laquelle il y aura des travaux de jardinage printaniers, un peu de bricolage/entretien et de l'aide pour la cuisine et du ménage léger.

  We share the house with two cats, there is a single bedroom on the ground floor and a double upstairs (not ideal during either very cold or very hot weather). NB: there is no tv or wifi, internet access can be done via my phone's hotspot if you have no data. Except for the village bakery, a car is needed to go shopping in town (I drive there about 2-3 times a week, sometimes some carshare is available).

  Nous partageons la maison avec deux chats, il y a une chambre simple au rez-de-chaussée ainsi qu'une double à l'étage (pas idéale lorsqu'il fait très chaud ou très froid). NB : ni tv ni wifi, l'accès internet peut se faire en partage de connexion avec mon téléphone si vous n'avez pas de data. Pour les magasins, hormis une boulangerie il faut aller en ville en voiture (j'y vais environ 2-3 fois par semaine, sinon il peut y avoir du covoiturage).

  What else ...

  If you have a car there is plenty to do in the surrounding area: discover some pretty villages, walks and bouldering in the forest, cultural or musical outings (depending on the time of year). Otherwise I can drive you into town (ideally not every day!) to take the train/bus, for a day out in Paris for instance. We can also share outings or activities together. I do have a crashpad that you can borrow.

  Si vous avez une voiture il y a beaucoup à faire dans les environs : découvrir de jolis villages, des balades et du bouldering en forêt, des sorties culturelles ou musicales (selon les périodes de l'année). Sinon je peux vous conduire en ville (dans l'idéal pas tous les jours !) pour prendre le train/bus, pour une journée à Paris par exemple. Nous pouvons aussi partager des sorties ou activités ensemble. J'ai un crashpad que vous pouvez emprunter.
