Description
We are a family of four — Simona and Filippo, with our two sons, Serafino (15) and Sirio (13) — living in the peaceful Sabine countryside near Rome. Our home is surrounded by olive groves, a small vineyard, fruit trees, 17 friendly chickens, two turtles, a sweet dog named Tokay, and a curious cat, Topina.
We also host pilgrims walking along the St. Francis Way, offering a donation-based hospitality experience that values simplicity, community, and connection with nature.
We're looking for someone who can lend a hand with:
Gardening tasks and tree pruning
Harvesting and transforming our fruits into jam
Light woodwork: we’d love to build wooden boxes for a vegetable garden.
If you have experience or interest in any of these areas — especially if you enjoy the outdoors and a family-oriented environment — we’d be happy to welcome you into our home and share our way of life.
For workawayers we offer accommodation in a private, fully equipped cottage with:
a double bedroom
a private bathroom
a kitchen and living room
a 25m² terrace
air conditioning
Food and lodging are provided in exchange for your help.
During your free time, you're encouraged to explore the beautiful surroundings:
Rome is just 30 minutes by train
Tivoli is 40 minutes by bus/car
We’re located in Palombara Sabina, part of the Lucretili Regional Park — perfect for nature lovers and hikers.
If you’re interested in this unique experience combining rural life, cultural exchange, and spiritual hospitality, we’d love to hear from you!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We travel a lot (for working and personal reasons) and we are happy to share with you our experiences and learn from yours. We are very welcoming and we like to treat our guests as part of the family! We accept people from anywhere in the world.
Our house is only 4 km from the railway station of Piana Bella di Montelibretti from where you can reach the center of Rome. Tivoli is another easy place to reach with the bus and a lot of places where you can go for a walk/hiking are very near, reason why we hardly encourage you to visit them during your free time.
Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
The help is various and we ask those who host to help both inside and outside the house. What we do out depends on the season. In September there is the grape harvest, the olive harvest in Octoberber, from June to October, the processing of fruit in jam, but also the tomato sauce.
